Might I - and this is quite off-topic - suggest a subject for a future video of yours.
There's a bit of a fight going on between listeners of all kinds of electronic music.
The beef is about what exactly the right name is for some of the biggest genres.
I am talking about: bigroom, electrohouse and progressive house.
Some people say (these are mainly fans of deadmau5 and Pryda) that only that kind of stuff is progressive, while fans of Kshmr, Hardwell, Garrix and many others also call their tracks progressive.
I was wondering if you could figure it out. Maybe with the help of some bigger producer as well?
I ALWAYS finish my tracks, but releasing them is something different. Just make sure you finish your tracks and then you can send them to labels, if the label doesn't like the track, then you should work on another one. Keep practicing finishing your tracks! 🙏

You're doing one release a month now?
For those people who can't finish one track, go trough all you're projects and look at what you like and what you want to finish. Than put those projects in another folder and than you rank those projects from what you want to finish first. And don't get busy with multiple projects at the same day, week or month. If you focus on one track at the time with the production, mixing and mastering, you will be able to release more and faster.
i really think the way in getting songs done is to get INTERESTED in mixing and mastering. as dumb as it may sound. learning to mix is as exciting as writing a new track. that feeling you get when you hear that your song doesn't just sound 'ok' but 'great' is an experience i hope every young producer has one day!

This was a major mistake I made earlier on in my production career but learned that quality is better than quantity. Hi Lauren&Lukas. First of all, great advice! I met some fellow producers in my genre and they give me critical feedback. That is something I only can appreciate. My mixing skills are not the best, lot to improve on this side. A problem for me at the moment is to start working on my music productions. Got a lot to do every and I always look for an opportunity to sit down and produce (which I love to do) The downside is, I don't always have the piece of mind to begin when I have free time. Mainly from stressful situations which become for I even can chill and start making music. It's a bummer, mainly because when I do have the calmness and concentration, I use to hang at a certain part in my music where I get stuck on, therefore it's difficult to finish projects. I hope that I can learn to cope with these difficulties and can make music whenever I want without stressing out from something that has happend the same day. I'm working on it, because I know that for me it has all to do with my mindset. Greetz, Emiel.

Amazing tips! Btw I dont have problems finishing tracks but have a problem marketing it . I dont make traditional EDM , More like EDM- Rock / Eletronic Pop hence its tougher. I get good feedback from fellow artists (EDM artists/ guitarists/etc) Besides , finding voclaists who dont charge a ton is also tough to find .

Lukas!!! I need some help! I am in no way trying to sound cocky but I need this advice. I can make very well Future Bounce, and Bass House, and have been able to get support from Mesto and such. But I am also very good at making Riddim Dubstep, Deathstep, and Hard Trap. I know that each Dj has their own style but I can make both. Each side of the coin (Happy Music Compared to Filthy Grimy dubstep) Has different Branding techniques. Different crowds at shows. Technically it's all "EDM" but they are completely different worlds. What should I do? Merge them together? Choose one or the other? It's like Martin Garrix making deatvstep . What do I do in terms of branding? And shows? I'm so confused and kinda lost and I don't know what to do.

Hello lukas, loved the video....definitely inspired me to produce tracks, I would love to join team mbl...but it seems that it is paid, if you could do something about that, it would be nice...i'm a rookie (very rookie) producer....i'm learning about fls right now....I practiced djing in VirtualDJ8 for the last 5 years....I couldn't go to any coaching places coz I lacked support from my parents....but, after hearing some 1min tones I made in fls...they agreed with me to do dj/producing as a side with my studies.....but I dont think that they'll help me with money tho......coz they hate edm music and their heads are hardwired to 80-90s music.....so whenever I play edm music In the room....they just go sit somewhere else....so I really need support....I designed my logo...but I have all the ideas of how it will look like..but I dont know how to make it into digital form and add some designs...i'm thinking of going to any part time jobs so I could fund money to buy dj/producer gear........plz feel free to reply back what you think...............;)

whats the point? what are you trying to do, stacking up tracks one after other and other, doing the same sound in every track....and just waiting to earn some fame and money? First of all, Music is an art at first place, its not a requirement, like making bricks one after other which are used to build a wall, its something that people wanna enjoy,feel,relax and remember....a listener dont want some hundred same sounding tracks, he wants something to attach himself, something new and unique, no matter if it is less....what's good ? your track been listened for some time with some good comments or your track being attached to your audience, remembered by them, loved by them? let them feel it....not just listen it....
