From Eclipse you get 17.5 dmg on ghouls 35 dmg on maiden plus 160 base +98 Shield from your iteam which is almost 260 Shield more precisely 258. according to that statistic you strengthen yourself, your ghouls and your maiden because they are all scaling with your ad. With Liandry's Torment you only scale your e, which is honestly not that good. I would say that Eclipse is good in most cases because it gives so many things to teams where they don't have a lot of hp and not a lot of armor, while Liandry's Torment is better for teams where they buy a lot of hp and not magic resistance

Eclipse is a weird one, sometimes it REALLY pops off in a single fight and you get like 1k+ shielding on it from one fight. If you compare that to a liandry's buy, it's like 300 hp vs 1k shield. You can't really look at the %health damage and expect nice values because it's not taken for that at all - it definitely differs from Liandry's in that regard. That being said, 70 AD vs 90 AP is insanely valuable for us so it's definitely best in slot alternative if you want more damage and they aren't building armor!
Honestly, why go eclipse when you can go Steraks? Compare at level 18 70 AD vs 74 AD - Steraks is better 0 hp vs 400 flat HP - Steraks is better 15 AH vs 20% Tenacity - Steraks is better. By third Item AH becomes a lot less valuble, espcially if your running a bunch of AH in runes (like ultimate hunter). Tenacity is also quite rare, so its quite nice. ~240 shield for 2 seconds every 6 seconds vs 1000+ shield when low - Steraks is better. You get value out of every fight with steraks and it scales a lot better than eclipse (80% hp ratio vs 40% Bonus AD ratio). It allows you to play a lot more aggressively when you have steraks to back you up. 6% HP damage vs none - Eclipse is better. Steraks has no equivalent, but if you need %hp damage liandrys is soooo much better. It does (at least) double the damage with only a single e, and you can apply it to multiple targets. 2800g vs 3200g - Eclipse is better. This is the only stat that really makes eclipse actually better than steraks. That being said, I think steraks is pretty much always worth the extra 400 gold. At the end of the day, due to its AH and poor scaling, eclipse is a great first or second item (in general, not really on yorick), but after that there are just much better options.
I’ve just been on a plane flight and thought about this over the 2 hour flight lol. Steraks: 1. Costs more. 2. The shield comes after you’re in combat and decays. 3. The AD scales, so you’ll only have 50~ by the time you buy it. It definitely would be more useful on the actual proc, but theres a lot more agency out of the higher AD from eclipse, cheaper gold, and potential for a higher shield over the course of a fight. That being said, will definitely check this when i get back. 15 AH > 20% tenacity IMO tho. Especially if it allows you to go cleaver>liandrys>eclipse. Worth looking into!

Thats why the shield scales sooooo poorly compared to steraks. 2.1. The shield only activaiting when your low is actually a good thing. When you have steraks up, you can play ultra aggressive in teamfights as you know they basically can't kill you while its up. Then, when it pops you can either continue the fight and look to finish them, or back off and let your teammates finish them off then take whatever objective you were fighting for. 2.2. Yeah, it decays, but over 4.5 seconds, which is quite a long time. As long as you are all-inning instead of skirmishing, you can get guaranteed value every fight. 2.3. Eclipses shield just isn't very good. If you go Cleaver Shojin Steraks, thats 1k shield, while Cleaver Shojin Eclipse is 236 shield. You would need the fight to go on for at least 18 seconds to break even with Steraks, and 24 seconds to surpass it. This assumes completely perfectly timed proc's and that you are actually being hit for the 2 seconds the shield is up. This difference only gets greater if you get a HP item 4th. At the end of the day, eclipse is designed for early game skirmishes, not late game team fights. 3. Steraks AD scales with level, which is why you buy it third item. For reference, it gives 50 AD at level 10, 67 AD at level 16, and 74 AD at level 18. Usually, you get third item around level 16. You will pretty much always get the same or higher AD with Steraks vs eclipse. 4. Tenacity > AH late game. If you go cleaver + shojin + trancendence, thats 65 AH (50 for ult). Add on Ultimate Hunter, and it gets to a point where adding AH just stops being very effective. Tenacity on the other hand is useful pretty much every game, and its impossible for Yorick to get outside of Merc Treads. Sure, if you take liandrys second then it might have some effect, but why would you do that? 5. Sure, you can proc it in a sidelane, but only if Yorick maiden and ghouls attack someone, and only for half the damage of liandries, and it doesn't work on multiple targets. Basicially, it doesn't do a lot of damage and its inconsistent at best.

I auto once after blue is at 800 (regardless of it being 899 or 801) before smiting and I never have to backtrack, the ghouls finish it off
It procs with bami, so it's only needed 1 auto to proc it. Very underrated, specially with Sion.

Yeah this is the only way i can see it being relevant. Hollowed is still great, i just prefer other items right now.
