Only useful in sports cars(helps in races where it allows drivers to shift gears without reaching their hands on gearbox) but useless in family sedans. Especially in cvt transmission where it only gives fake gear changing effect however the gear doesn't change here.
@ bro u r right. Its has role in races and saves gear shifting times and errors with shifting but using paddle shifters in cvt cars can help slow down the car by making pseudo gears and limiting rpm. If you are aware of engine braking then u should know how important it is and paddle shifters in even cvt cars help. Now electric cars also have paddle shifters which just changes regenerative braking intensity which can be important during driving in road conditions which are constantly changing like slopes, ups and downs, less or heavy traffic etc

I think people forget 2 facts when buying hybrids 1) A hybrid is more expensive yes but will also be sold for more money after 5-6 years. 2) During the time you have the car it will save you alot of cost I drive 60KM 5 days a week + abit extra in my local sector So for a non hybrid car that is almost 26-31 thousand rupees of fuel per month considering 12-14 KMPL For this it will be 12-14 thousand rupees Per year that is 170k rupees saved approx with current prices I own a Tucson, 2 priuses and have owned an aqua and another prius in the past as well Alhamdullilah so I am talking from experience that hybrids are the eventual future.
I agree with you on this depate but considering that the hybrid battery health drops gradually over the years,its cost of replacement is equal or in some cases higher than the amount of money you save on fuel.Moreover, in my pov linear hybrid systems as we see in cars like nissan note e power prove to be more reliable as they dont have batteries and use the engine as a generator to power the electric drivetrain.I hope this info helps owners buy the best car for their hard-earned money .❤

When buying a hybrid one should read up on battery chemistry, the age of its technology, the manufacturer behind the battery. In these areas it's wise to go for the newest LFP technology coming from BYD or CATL the two behemoths of the industry. Latest generation of their LFP packs. Geelys golden battery, Geely Aegis battery and next year BYD blade gen2, these have longest life span, most energy dense commercially available globally and fastest charging rates upto 500KW. Once we find info like this we would realise japanese are way, way behind. A quick Google search reveals criticism of Toyota deploying yesteryear Nickel magnese hydrate chemistry in their hybrids.

Good option for sedan lovers, Civic and grande se bht behtr. But in my opinion,MG HS PHEV and Julion HEV are better value for same money. Many non hybrid crossovers offer better value than elantra like Oshan x7,tiggo 8 pro, h6 1.5t, Julion 1.5t. Bigger cabin,more features,good road presence etc (1 crore kharch krne wala petrol b dalva e skta hai bhai,so look and features more important than fuel average)
Unka vs hybrid ka petrol ka kharcha buhat zada hai even if the buyer can spend 1 cr. Plus an SUV will never drive or ride as good as a sedan built in the same class. No doubt wo achi gariyan hain and they do have presence but it's good to have competition to the rest of the brands with this Elantra even if it is priced a bit over than it should be.
