I’m not really sure what the health professionals have set out as such for guidance over in the states as I’m from Scotland, but that sounds insane that they told you not to wear a mask just because you’re fully vaccinated. It’s crazy!! I’m glad you’re both okay though!! X

@@CammieScott Yes. This is why I’m an independent (mostly liberal leaning). Politics will often try to sway you a way that may be better for their agenda than for you as an individual. The CDC, like all government entities, is there to promote government's actual interests first, and government's first interest is money. The lack of economic activity harms government via reduction in revenues.
Furthermore, certainly people are monetarily "undesirable" to government because government pays to them but do not get money in return; those are the infirm and old. The virus was rather good in knock those people out of existence

CDC and other organisations said it to make unsuspected and uneducated population believe this is how things work, to make them take the v thinking they are coming back to the normal life. You aren’t. Yes, they manipulate. There will be more variants, more injections (boosters and regular ones), more v injuries, more lockdowns and more travel restrictions. But this time with added health apartheid and discrimination. Those countries who are now the most v (up to 90%) are also the red zones with covid cases going through the roof, compared to the countries with low v rates where people just get natural immunity and live their normal lives without fear

    • @Chiccaboom611

I think they were trying to get that as an incentive to get people fully vaccinated. Trusting people and the honor system. If you are vaccinated you don’t have to wear a mask…but then never mandated anything. Putting it on the country to figure it out. It was bound to fail. Some people were thinking that the countries are trying for herd immunity now( without saying it). I just hope our health care workers stay…because people are quitting.

I live in the Bay Area and the indoor mask mandate is back now. (I still wore my mask indoors regardless) I think there was just too much pressure beginning of summer to “go back to normal” since cases slowed down, and people (not enough) were getting vaccinated. “Wax and vaxxed hot summer” Also with the recall Gavin Newsom going on, it didn’t help.

I was so careful trying not to get it. I fully isolated but unfortunately needed tests in hospital and caught it in the 3 hours I was there. I then gave it to my unvaccinated parents in their 60’s (whom I bubble with due to myself being single and living next door, this was permitted in England at that time and my parents were also in complete isolation). I then had to deal with being very unwell and also struggling with the worry of the potential that I could have killed my parents. Is it really worth not getting the vaccine? Even if you are skeptical that it will help it defiantly won’t do you any harm. And don’t say what about blood clots as millions of women willingly take the pill every day and that’s more likely to give you a blood clot. @@malik_alharb Obviously the virus kills less people age 13-40 (luckily there hasn't been a lot of deaths in children) but they happen and you aren't safe just because you're young and healthy.
Most of my family has had Covid. I'm 19, got it at 18. I'm generally healthy, but it hit me extremely hard, so did it some of my friends. One had to be admitted to the hospital. And like I said my brother literally had a stroke. He's got a little hole in his heart-chamber wall and that in combination with the virus caused him to have a minor stroke (at 17!). If he wasn't with my aunt he could've died.
What's likely is, is that there was just a very aggressive strand in my area. My grandparents are both over 75 and barely felt anything when they got it and they live in another country. But that's exactly my point. A more aggressive strand can hit you wherever you are and however old. Obviously you're more likely to die if you're older. But compared to things like the flu it kills a lot more young people unfortunately, or gives them long term struggles after.
I didn't even give any statistics, by the way. But if you want some I can ask my mum. She reads up a lot on it and is friends with some people directly in the field (she's a surgeon, but she knows a GP and a virologist).
To sum it up: Get the vaccine and don't be stupid. Even if you don't get it, you can pass it on. And if you do get it, age. Does. Not. Protect. You.

Anyway I didn’t think I had it at first, I only had a sore throat. But then I lost my sense of smell and sense of taste, for about 2 weeks, my lungs hurt( my back) not too bad though, and took me more effort to take a breath, not too bad though . My wife got flu symptoms. High fever. So it can definitely hit you different. There were no vaccines back then, so we weren’t vaccinated ( we are now). I think everyone should get vaccinated. And chances are that a vaccinated person handles it better. But, I know a lot of people who had COVID ( because we live in a country that didn’t shut down, and we needed to work) , and every one I know, expected 1 person who is overweight, handle it like a flue, or a simple cold. So, I think even if you had gotten sick with COVID before you had you’re vaccinations, doesn’t mean you would of had a worse reaction then you had now. BUT to be clear!! I think every one absolutely should get the vaccine.. to protect the elderly and people with compromising immune system. ❤️

I’m also asthmatic and was considered ‘highly vulnerable’ in the UK in the first few stages of the pandemic and I’m fully convinced the only way I managed to successfully beat covid was because I’d had my first dose.

I feel jealous when I see vids of people who had covid and recovered and look like they feel great after a week or two. I am 6 months into long covid now and I don't see any improvement. OK it was much worse for the first two months but now has leveled out and not getting better. I am not vaccinated because here in Mexico they said I had to wait 6 months from positive test (I don't agree from my research but ni modo). So I am a bit concerned about the possibility of getting the Delta on top of this. Hoping isolating and masks will help.

Thanks for this video, Cammie. I hope your and Taryn's recovery continues to go well.
All is well now, but I believe I may have also contracted the Delta variant when my wife and I dined inside a small cafe after the CDC said it was safe for the fully vaccinated to do so.
This could have gone very badly for us, as I am 71 with several health issues and my wife is 86 with three heart valve stents. We wanted so badly to celebrate our 24th anniversary, that we went against our own better judgement. Fortunately, my wife never did become ill. I suffered chills and fever for about 24 hours; fatigue and difficulty breathing hung around for two more days and then suddenly I was back to normal. I don't even want to think about what would have been our fate had we not been vaxxed.
    Love to both of you.😍🤗😘

The question I have is how do you know the severity of you getting Covid was less because you got the vaccine. I’m debating if this vaccine just doesn’t work as well as we thought at first. It is a brand new type of vaccine so long term effects are still unknown. Makes me nervous.

Our rights are being traded for the illusion of freedom and safety. If we surrender and submit to this we will ultimately enslave ourselves to this agenda the governments have. It doesnt just end at a vaccine it starts with a vaccine and ends at complete dominance and control.
When thought or freedom of expression of opinion or fact are considered misinformation and canceled in our current cancel culture and censored. This is a cause for great concern for the future.
This is where freedom of rights, the ability to critical think and observe for ones self dies, where governments can then further enslave our minds and our lives, bowing down to their tyranny, for the sake of all control and power

She got sick last week and went to the hospital and they put her on a vent, she passed away yesterday morning. She and her husband were vaccinated. We also lost a guy I went to high school with to Covid week before last. He was vaccinated as well. His lungs filled up with fluid and his kidneys stopped working. This virus doesn’t really discriminate , all ages are vulnerable it seems. when anti vaxxers keep creating new variants that the boosters don't work against so we have more boosters and then it happens all over again. What we really need to do is stop living in fear and accept that we're all going to have to catch it at some point if we really want to be immune. It's becoming clear that vaccines just aren't enough when there's so many who will never get it. Vaccine + infection seems the only way out of this.
Vaccinating the world is also more important than 30 year olds getting a booster because they don't want to feel a bit tired and have a cold for a week.

Thanks for the candid vlog! Glad you guys ended up doing well! As an ER doc (in Florida) , lately I’ve had to hospitalize YOUNG previously healthy patients who are COVID+ on oxygen support (youngest 19yrs) who are unfortunately unvaccinated. It’s a sad reality. I have not once in my ER admitted a vaccinated patient who was COVID+ for COVID related symptoms. I hope we can collectively continue to encourage those around us to support each other in making the best educated decisions we can for ourselves.
    Best of wishes!✌🏽

Very interesting about the lab call and a "good luck". I suppose it's hard when it gets to so many cases.
This is completely unheard of in Australia. A bit too relaxed in my opinion.
It's serious. It needs to be taken seriously.
    I'm in Sydney.
In Australia, it varies by state, but as a rule of thumb every single positive triggers 3 things.
    1. An immediate contact tracing interview - which correlates information the positive case provides with all the QR checkin information the government has already received (which is mandated). In some instances, these interviews can be as long as 8 hours to ensure that every single movement, every single contact and every venue over previous 14 days is records.
This in itself triggers anyone in those venues during those times to be close contacts and they are also contacted, tested and interviewed for contact tracing.
Every venue the positive case has entered is immediately flagged for cleaning and every at the venue during the time the positive contact was there, is notified. All individuals who were present at the time the positive case was present is requested to be tested.
This is a non nonsense policy and a single positive case can the cause of a complete closure of a business in question.
In some cases, CCTV footage has been reviewed to determine the location of the transfer of the virus from one person to another.
    2. Welfare and stay at home checks. This serves two purposes. The first is that every positive case is required by law to isolate at home. There are random Police/Military checks with fines.
But second to this is that covid case that are at home have been known to become worse suddenly. Many have died at home having minimal symptoms just prior.
In some cases, Police and Military will deliver food to the vulnerable who cannot be cared for.
    3. Every positive case is genomic tested to ensure clusters can be linked. This is very handy for example where a nursing home was found to have several cases that appears to be linked, but genomic testing showed two slightly different variants leading the contact tracers to look for potentially two sources, rather than one.
This has been the core reason behind there being very few cases in Sydney for the bulk of 2020 up until May 2021.
We had 56 deaths total - which for all states apart from Victoria (which is a story to itself), was considered FAR TOO MANY DEATHS.
But things changed with one event...... A second wave that is current. Delta :(
Though, these procedures a helped track the first few days of our Delta outbreak in Sydney. Through the contact tracing, the health department in our state (NSW Health) was able to correlate and trace patient 0 (a limo driver) with two American FedEx pilots. The limo driver (and likely the FedEx pilots) didn't wear a face mask. Although he refutes he is patient 0, given that all incoming foreign arrivals were tested thoroughly and genomic tested, there is a direct link.
In this case, investigators viewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage to determine the exact time in a shopping centre where Patient 0 was, and at what point of time he crossed paths with a second known contact that tested positive.
There is absolutely no such thing as "you're positive, good luck" here.
The fact is that in May, we had 0 cases here and our current situation is borne out of letting Delta get into one person in the community.
Between March 2020 and May 2021 we had 56 deaths. In the times since then due to these FedEx pilots, 56 more deaths (a doubling) have occurred.
To curb this, face masks are compulsory. QR checkins are compulsory. Vaccinations are ramping up.
There is a 5km maximum stay at home order, which prevents anyone from leaving their local area unless they are an essential worker (and that list is small). Not wearing a mask is an on-the-spot $1000 fine. If a case is positive, they are ordered to isolate at home for 14 days and may be checked on by Police and Military. Anyone caught not being at home during this order is fined $3000.
But fines of significantly more and jail terms are possible for those flaunting the laws.
Law-wise, these are extraordinary measures that are only enabled during a time when the health order act is in place. These laws were created in 2010, but this is the first time this has been enacted to allow additional policing measures.
    ---
I wonder if the American FedEx pilots know what they've caused.

      Update....
3 weeks later, my state has reached a breaking point whereby the plentiful staff resources they had that could manage every case very carefully are stretched with Delta.
The majority of Australia and New Zealand have really done well with supression.
But my state (New South Wales) is bearing the brunt of Delta cases post Fed Ex pilots.
It's not up to 1500 cases per day, which means that contact tracing can no longer do the intensive interviewing and full tracing they once did.
I can't imagine how difficult is for US states that have much more than this.

You can even be extra safe by putting masks on all the air vents. Also wear mask in your house. You never know what can waffle in when you open doors. This is really scary stuff.
