I like the part where you mentioned that this is more of a "model kit" than a "toy". For a MG, this has a tremendous amount of detail and is an amazing looking display piece. Also, the amount of parts you get for the money makes it a great value. As a modeler who cares more about how a kit looks rather than articulation, I feel you explained those two customer demographics well. Thanks for the great review as always.
For me , whatever gunpla catches the eye of a person that knows nothing about gunpla, is always better. "Now thats a nice robot.." mg sazabi and mg unicorn always does the trick.

TBH, I think the articulation is already good enough, I mean, when you watch the series, most of it's poses are aerial pose, that means you need good lighting and right angle to make it looks cool
I was dieing hearing Tyrone. Very nice touch. Gonna grab this kit because I'm a sadist and know how difficult the kit is to pose cause of the Unicorn but when you get it posed and situated it has some shelf presence

One thing I will always find amusing is that if I'm not mistaken, every single non-sd model kit of the Banshee can be used to make this version of the Banshee, making this kit a tad bit redundant if it weren't for the decals and the hella nice art on the box and the manual

For me it’s not a bad buy considering I’ve never built the Banshee at all. It’s disappointing not to have the claws but given the nature of this release and how fiddly the finished kit is I don’t mind.
I have to be honest, im building this kit and i love how it looks, but some design choices just make me angry, the head in particular is just a serious pain in the ass imo
I'm building this for my first master grade , I'm just getting through the torso the head and now I'm on the arms , so it's fun so far , I already build up the regular rg unicorn , it was a fun build so that's why I got this one as a master grade , but what other master grade kits would u say would be fun for a quote unquote beginniner

Question regard shinny decal. apply after top flat/gloss coat or before and than protective top coat? does protective top coat destroy the shininess of the decal?

I just want a good looking banshee in unicorn mode that I can throw some decals on and stick on the shelf. So I don’t really mind as much if the transformation sucks, i wouldn’t use it or care to even glue it if necessary. So I may pick this up just for that simple fact.
say don't you know bandai tells you how to do it best as in pull off head arms legs, so you don't have that problem with parts sliding back to how they were? i have had almost no problems with this kit, only problem i had is with the chest transforming bit. was quite stiff but not too big of a problem. good kit, is my first MG 4th kit i build.
We have the Banshee MG kit from 2012, which was a regular release with the orange frame plus are armed armor bits. But came with many of the regular unicorn parts that you could build it sans collar. So what are we getting with this kit exactly??

Just my opinion but if you're doing an OOB review and you're criticizing a thing that doesn't work quite well out of the box like the ammo on the bazooka that falls every time (I hate that too) you don't need to say how it's "not a big deal" or "it's easily fixed" almost like you're saying sorry for complaining about mistakes that Bandai makes. It's an OOB review and it's important to stress out things that don't work quite well OUT OF THE BOX, regardless of how easy it is to actually fix it.
btw if u build the chest with the gold part its look better cause i used the gold chest part, and my plan is going to make one like a key connection for the knee part when it transform that all people know that its sooooo loose and cant plug in correctly, btw if u also got the solution for that knee part and the loose ankle please lets me know or make review of it. thank you zack :)
Version Katoki Master Grades have the trademark white box and Hajime Katoki's glorious artwork. And yes. An MG Ver.Ka is just the same as a normal MG, but has a lot of decals than usual.
Joeie Rivera I don't think so, they know what pose to do and they can do it well, even if others think it looks silly, you just have to respect their own creativity--or you can teach them(which is better). What I meant was gunpla is not the same as action figure toys that you can just play around with too often. ✌️
You reminded me of mine MG unicorn and i made an error - i've moved it from it's shelf space. I don't want to touch it ever again. everything falls apart from it, the knees fold up all the time... It does look good and i could forgive its flaws when it was released but this banshee ? in 2018 ? ill pass
Nice, I built the Ver.ka of the normal Unicorn, it was my second gunpla that I built, so limited articulation of the legs compared to the ova Unicorn wasn’t on my mind. Kind of weird to see there were water slide decals for the Banshee, there weren’t any for the Ver.Ka Unicorn, which messed up 3 of some clear stickers before I realised.
Glad it had waterslides because i think those stickers would look horrible on the darker plastic where as the unicorn can look ok with the stickers since its white
It's not Unicorn 01. It's Unicorn 02. ... And the Armed Armor wasn't shown in the novel. Basically, the Banshee in the novel is literally just a black Unicorn with a different V-fin.

Not a fan of the lack of color separation on this. The Jesta and the Mk2 (similar colors) have better color separation. In this since its basically 1 color it would be nice if they had some pieces in a lighter tone.
Never build a MG Unicorn and I still don't know which variant that I want to get...I like Norn but that's an fucking exclusive kit. Kinda tempting on getting this one just because of that WS decal.....
i think the best ws decal on unicorn is this banshee cause its gold ws decal, then great v-fin, but if u feel like wanna get first mg unicorn that worth even there is some bad part on the kit i suggest get the mg unicorn full armor ver ka final battle ver, cause with that kit u got ws decal and a lot of additional armor and weapon so it worth it even it got bad knee, the arm and other part still if u pose that full armor on your shelf just stood like that it will look really great mate
I think the P-Bandai FA Unicorn comes with the WS decal while the regular green frame one only comes with stickers and dry transfers decal. But then I can always look for some 3rd party decals. Don't really care for the issues that Unicorn mold has, I just need one 1/100 Unicorn gundam :)
personally, don't bother if you want to buy unicorn kit, go with PG & RG unicorn MG is not exactly a stable kit, considering it was a 2009 design if you really want a 1/100 unicorn though, i suggest getting a 2nd hand kit & fix its joints & make it one permanent mode
I don't pose my kit very often, once I finish building it will stand on my shelf forever so I only need to choose one variant. I have the PG Unicorn tho, will be getting the RG Norn soon :P
The front skirt slide broke easily and it look pretty loose, backpack slide out easily, body lock always came out , hand armor fall out easily too , by the way I just love the design and look, hope one day Bandai realises the problem, hoping that GEP can fix the problem

I've always loved the hands er manipulators this kit comes with..even though they were normally on kits from 2008 to 2010..

How the heck did you get the horn to stay together in one piece? The front part will not lock in. Several attempts and it will not stay in place

It’s supposed to be all one color though. Just like the unicorn and Phenex
I mean in theory the Rx-78 should also be in 1 color, but the color separation from the RG really makes it a more interesting kit to look at.
I hate the blue. Painting all of mine a darker color. The paint does make the kit more stable too.
