- A sincere thank you to war veteran Park Oksun who gladly agreed to this interview.
While preparing this interview, I felt once again just how cruel and sad war is. I’m not from a generation that has experienced war, so I can’t understand all the situations of that time. But I’m making an effort to not forget that I’m able to live comfortably like this thanks to war veterans and others who did the best they could during the war.
Listening to war veteran Park Oksun, and how she had to make the decision to enter the battlefield at such a young age, it made me think this. I feel grateful and also feel sorry, and I feel a bit embarrassed about myself now…
I sincerely hope she’s healthy and becomes even happier. :)

100년도 안된 역사인데 너무 소홀히 생각했던게 아니었나 반성이 됩니다. 우리나라를 지키기 위해 헌신해주신 모든 분들께 감사드립니다.
6.25 맞이하여 이런 뜻깊은 영상 만들어주셔서 감사합니다. 저는 여군으로 전방부대에서 근무하고 최근에 전역했습니다. 군인이었어서 그런지 참전용사분들에게 더 많은 관심을 가지고있는데요. 영상에서 나온곳처럼 군번을 아예 못받았거나, 혹은 뒷군번이라는 이유로 국가에서 아무런 보상을 받고있지 않는분들도 계세요. 우리나라를 위해 목숨바쳤던 분들인데 단 한푼도 못받고 계세요. 그런분들이 아직 많이 계십니다. 국가에서는 더 신경을 써주셔야하고 이제라도 보답을 해야해요. 그래서 저희도 이러한 부분에 더 관심을 가져야 하구요. 더 많은분들이 알고, 그들의 노고를 기릴줄 알아야 합니다.
저는 장교로 근무하다 나왔지만, 만약 전쟁이 일어났다면 내가 목숨바쳐 싸울수있었을까? 늘 생각해요. 군인이었던 저조차도 이런생각이 드는데 참전용사분들은 방탄모 하나없이 총 쏘는법도 잘 모르는 상태에서 국가를 지키겠다는 마음 하나로 목숨을 바쳐 싸우신 분들입니다. 그분들이 있기에 저희가 있음을 늘 기억하고 가슴에 새기셨으면 좋겠습니다.
그리고 솔라언니, 팬이어서 솔라시도 자주 챙겨보지만, 이런 뜻깊은 영상으로 더 많은 사람들에게 참전용사분들, 그리고 6.25 전쟁에 대해 알릴수있는 기회 만들어주심에 감사합니다.

Thank you for doing this interview, Solar. My grandfather was in the 6/25 War as a US serviceman. The few times he told me about his time there he cried because of the hardships he saw the Korean people face and told me never to forget the cruelty of war. It is really valuable to hear the experiences of a Korean veteran.
I thought the same. My grandpa was a medic through it and he tried to help when and where he could. He didn’t talk about it much, just reminded me to always show kindness to those around me because we don’t know others struggles during times of war.

Solar interviewed one of the nurse officers during Korean War to commemorate the 6.25 War. I believe a countries' war history is something that every citizen should know about. The significance, the impact, and the sacrifice are the things that mostly shape the future civilization of a country. I love the fact that Solar's YT channel offers so much, her contents are so versatile, interesting, educative, & inspiring all at the same time. Notice how the old lady got so happy when Solar gave her the flowers at 9:48, that scene alone made me tear up. Sometimes we forget to appreciate & care about people who sacrifice so much for our country. Solar using her YT channel to talk about such an important issue and show respect to the war nurse made me so happy & proud. Thank you Solarsido, you are the best YT channel ever.
And she chose to show a woman who was in the conflict to commemorate all the unknown people .
The educational videos from Solarsido are my favorites. In my opinion, it truly differentiates her from every other idol youtube channel and shows her sincerity even more. It also brings awareness to her younger and foreign audience about issues people rarely talk about, especially if one is not Korean. She's just the coolest, most sincere girl ever. We don't deserve her.

Solar, thank you very much for making your platform a means of comfort, fun but also a lot of knowledge. It is sad to know everything that happened to the veterans, but at the same time it is important to know so that we can be aware and never let history repeat itself.
I wish and hope that Park Ok Sun and all the veterans can have a good and quieter life now.
One of the things that I love about Solar is how diverse she is. She can make us laugh, cray, exercise, think, imagine and search for life. Her entire channel is just another example of how pasionate and grounded she is about everything. I'm not crying, you are...War stories always hurt to hear. We get a lot of elderly people here who like to talk about WW2 and I love hearing about British history but I feel sad that they had to suffer so much so we could live as we are now. I never disrespect my elders and am so thankful for their sacrifice. This interview was beautiful, thank you Solar.
