I was there, I was dead center in between the pit & the soundboard behind us. I was praying that we'd get "Maynard the Cat, but they had only done it once or twice prior to this, & then they played Tommy a few times without Maynard at a couple of shows after that, so I didn't want to get my hopes up for it. The moment I saw maynard come out & lay up on the stairs to the right, and saw that piece of paper in his hand, I knew exactly what was about to happen and could not have been more fvcking excited about it! There was no way in Hell I was gonna film any of this show, not even "Grand Canyon". I just took a handful of photos & then just watched & listened to all three bands play the most beautiful rendition of "Grand Canyon" I've ever heard in my entire life. I've been thinking a lot about this show, and I've seen some truly LEGENDARY concerts over the years. I've seen PRIMUS fifty-something times, and their 2012 Halloween show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta has always been "The greatest night of my entire life" ever since. Considering I did get "Post-show VIP (Friends & Family Only)" passes from Ler himself. So I got to meet, and then just hang out and laugh and shoot the shit with Les, Ler & Jay Lane. I've thought about this a lot. That 2012 PRIMUS show will probably always be the greatest show/greatest night of my life, but this show, it was obviously a VERY different situation, but it may very well be the greatest concert I've ever attended. No "Post-Show VIP (Friends & Family Only) hang-out sesh" or anything like that, but as far as the actual show, from beginning to end, it's gotta be the greatest live concert I've ever attended. Maybe tied with PRIMUS, Halloween 2012 at The Tabernacle? It's far too difficult to compare two VERY different shows/situations, & obviously I got to see two of my favourite bands of all-time that I've been a MASSIVE fan of, & have been trying to see live every chance I got for the last TWENTY YEARS! I FINALLY GOT TO SEE APC & PUSCIFER LIVE! WITH PRIMUS!!! I mean, it literally could not have been any better than that. N Puddles showed up and sang lead vocals during "The Hollow" while Tim Alexander played the drums, just like he did on "Mer de Noms"! This was the greatest concert ever. Right up there with PRIMUS Halloween 2012 for sure. -
My first Primus show was the one on their Hallucino*Genetics DVD. I'm the one holding up the 'Les Claypool for President" at the start of Spagetti Western. Now I keep that sticker (still on its original paper backing) in the case of my copy of that DVD.
2:28 Oooohhh, 😮 the vibrato Maynard put on that Heeeeeeeeeeey, gave me chills. I know he made Les proud 👏 😂. I never thought I would be listening to Maynard sing part of this song.
4th time seeing Primus. And the best. Sound was amazing. Claypools bass was pumpin. First time seeing Puscifer and APC. they were amazing too. And only twenty minutes from home. How nice.
Agree with both of you. Towards the end it looked like a psychedelic Plinko board, and the fluorescent green against the pink suits it all so well. Good to see they’re still killing it each show, and it’s always a good time.
I went to the April 17th show and i was really looking forward to puscifer and a perfect circle but i was also looking forward to Primus, because i have never before listened to them besides jerry was a racecar driver and let me tell you that Primus live was a whole different experience and that made me a fan!. I will be listening to to their music, cant believe i been missing out all these years
Primus is the best show on earth. They frightened me as a child. So I also sadly didn't discover this until the age of 34. 😢 But I've now seen them four times and am going again August.
Seen these guys way back on Pork Soda at the Omni. Probably could've bought a whole row of seats for what one is going for today, so I really appreciate these live shots from the best State with Primus sucking on stage!✌️🤟💨🖖👽🎸🔥🎶
Never gonna not be jealous that GA is the only set that got this. Saw the NC show they did right before this and wish we had gotten Maynard the Cat. Tommy the Cat wasnt even in our line up.
I saw them in Boston for the opening night, then at Foxwoods 2 days later and will be heading to NYC on May 4th for the last show and each has been slightly different. Love love love!!!
@@vater513 All 3 shows I got to see were so amazing but the last show of the tour in NYC was to me the best cuz I had the best seats Eva and got great pics of all the bands’ members hugging etc when it came to a close. So emotional for them all.
The chemistry is so fun. Very technical artists who played with weird sounds in the 90's. Out there having fun in the 2020's and putting on a great show.
When Les came back down the stairs and the camera pans away, it was ironically bass notes as if he had fallen. Thankfully it does not happen. This was fun to watch.
Aww, one of my buddies from highschool went there that night. it was senior year. I knew about it but something came up and I couldn’t make it. He showed me a video and man it looked awesome. Shame I couldn’t go.
Man I wish I had been there to see this live. I saw Primus with Helmet back on the "Seas of Cheese" tour. They had the music from PeeWee's Big Adventure playing the whole time between Helmet and Primus. What a killer show. Helmet was touring for "Betty" at the time.
Takes me back to '03 driving in an older kids car getting blazed af almost everyday before freshman high school in that warmer weather, class rocked! Plus my 6 song mp3 player headphones under my hair all day. Goodtimes!
I saw Primus during Frizzle Fry at Tipitina's in New Orleans in 1991 I saw a tool in 1992 for undertow@ Lollapalooza and I saw a perfect circle for Mer de noms at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans in 2001. Just don't get any better
I saw Primus in Pensacola in a little club right after Sailing the Seas came out. I saw Lollapalooza the year Rage and Tool opened, also. Great shows. That Lollapalooza Tool set will be forever ingrained in my skull. One of the best sets I've ever seen by any band.
So effing happy they're still touring and making music... I saw them years ago when they had HELMET opening up for them in Grand Rapids Michigan... Still got the ticket stub.. Primus Sucks!!! 😅😅😅
Thank you Metallica for telling Les he was good enough to make his own thing, Les found other two equaly talented musicians to form Primus, then he became friends with another talented singer who joined other talented musicians to form 3 bands. Thank you Metallica for THESE MOMENTS! And thank you for filming this, I know it's hard to film. 😄
Alternative Nations Festival, Brisbane Australia anyone?! 94 or 95 I think, it was 2 days in Brisbane but 1 in some of the other capitals, massive line up
Primus, tool, nine inch nails, body count, ice t, hole, faith no more, I know I’m forgetting some, Lou reed even I think, heaps of Australian bands that went on to be massive, I think the second night finished with primus then faith no more, it pissed down rain right at the end. It was the first time my parents let me go to something with one of my mates driving
Three of my favorite bands on the same night, tickets will be about $250 each , so $500 for a concert. I’m deciding between spending that money on a new guitar or going to the concert. I just started trying to learn guitar so I am torn between the two. What do I do, go to the concert or get a new guitar?
I picked up a $37 lawn ticket for this show about two hours before doors opened, taxes, and fees included. Then I just went and found a bunch of open seats right behind the soundboard and sat there.
I know, lol, but we didn't know that yet! It started out like any other Tommy performance, but the second I saw Maynard sneak out & lay on those stairs, THEN it became *Maynard the Cat. I'm curious what my face looked like when I first saw & pointed him out to my friends. I don't think anyone saw him until I pointed to the stairs, then everyone started mumbling & started freakin' out. Mostly confusion, I don't think most of the crowd knew anything about the possibility of Maynard the Cat. This was so fvcking epic! - -
Nope... Was written well before they recorded seas of cheese. It's a reference to a Tom Cat. Technical term for a male cat. Appears on Suck on This and was left off Frizzle Fry as Les wanted to save for when they were signed to a bigger label
the mobility lift chair on the stairs for maynards 60th birthday tour is *chefs kiss* perfection

Amphetamines much? Ffs
If only you'd seen the Halloween show Primus played at the Tabernacle in 2012!!

"Maynard The Cat". 👏👏
What did we just witness? Only the pinnacle of musical greatness never before achieved until this moment!
I’m beyond excited they’re coming right to me in round two!! I’ll be standing beside myself.
4th time seeing Primus. And the best. Sound was amazing. Claypools bass was pumpin. First time seeing Puscifer and APC. they were amazing too. And only twenty minutes from home. How nice.
Fucking righteous.
Coolest stage and lighting I've ever seen
Primus always has a great lighting show, but this one is particularly great.
Agree with both of you. Towards the end it looked like a psychedelic Plinko board, and the fluorescent green against the pink suits it all so well. Good to see they’re still killing it each show, and it’s always a good time.
Saw them in Houston and it was probably one of the greatest concerts I've been too!
I was on the lawn. Had a great time. But the staff was pissing me off. Some chick was like SpongeBob the hall monitor.
I hope so hard that 'Maynard The Cat' is a bonus track on the next Sessanta EP
Watching this video is a bit of an unknown dream come true. How awesome it must have been to be at this concert and see Maynard come out!
I went to the April 17th show and i was really looking forward to puscifer and a perfect circle but i was also looking forward to Primus, because i have never before listened to them besides jerry was a racecar driver and let me tell you that Primus live was a whole different experience and that made me a fan!. Right! Les is the maestro. You have to see to believe.
Yah Primus 'suck on this' is definite contender for best live album ever
Check out the album Oysterhead!! one of my favorite albums ever.. Les, Phish singer ( Trey) And Stewart Copeland ( drummer of police)
Primus is the best show on earth. They frightened me as a child. So I also sadly didn't discover this until the age of 34. 😢 But I've now seen them four times and am going again August.
Please god release a dvd I want to relive this concert over and over again

Thanks Ler, you never disappoint and the remain the #1 reason why I've listened to Primus for 30 years.
Thank you for getting this footage and risking being kicked out.
Saw SESSANTA both shows in Phoenix! Was laughing so hard when Les hopped on the chair lift!
Lmao i was there with ya for the first show
In front of the soundboard as well. Stellar performance by all.
Side note: kind folks at every turn: vendors, staff, security, & other patrons.
Ameris Bank amphitheatre is the greatest venue in the greater Atlanta area. Staff are great indeed.
Absolutely lost it when they went into this.
Saw this in Boston at the wang theater. Fucking awesome!
True! Wasn't able to stay seated during this song, there's was a groovy dance party at the top of balcony 🤙
Same, second night was great. So happy that I made it
Probably one of the best things ever
What a show..Saw them in Calgary...HOLY FUCKING SHIT..AWESOME
Never gonna not be jealous that GA is the only set that got this. Saw the NC show they did right before this and wish we had gotten Maynard the Cat. Tommy the Cat wasnt even in our line up.
Played it in Houston
And Nashville 😂
they played it tonight here in phoenix
I been saying us guys in Atlanta was lucky the entire set list was 🔥
And at the Hollywood bowl on 420, they also brought out tool for aenima
I saw them in Boston for the opening night, then at Foxwoods 2 days later and will be heading to NYC on May 4th for the last show and each has been slightly different. Love love love!!!

I’m seeing this in a few days. The stairlift killed me 😆
I saw this in Berkeley. Probably the best song of the night. What a show and tour!
Can’t wait for Chicago!!!!!

All three bands are on the stage simultaneously throughout the show. No openers or headliners, just one big party
