  • Rare 80's music video from the great Rockats. What a cool video....they don't make them like this anymore. Thanks to TAB442 for the raw footage.

I never saw this video in the US, but in the summer of '84, i saw it at least 20x across Europe, everywhere I went.

Excellent song - kudos to the one who dug that one up. Haven't seen it in 20 years.

Great! A perfect mixture of Rockabilly and the spirit of the 80s. The essence of Neo Rockabilly!

On this day in 1983 {July 23rd} the Rockats performed "Make That Move" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand...
The following year is 1984 it reached #1 on the MTV's video chart...
    R.I.P. Mr. Clark...

thanx for showing this.i was the brunette in one of the gold sequin tube tops by the bar-there were two of us in gold sequin tops.the group of blondes dancing together towards the end of the video were the british girlfriends of the band members.

I hadn't seen this video for many years until I got the footage and posted this, but the image of the blonde girl with the long curly hair at 2:31 and 3:05 has been in my head for about 24 years. Only a few seconds but what a cutie she was. This is classic stuff. The Rockats were great.

Slight correction: The blonde on the right of the screen is MaryAnne, Barry's ex-wife. The blonde at the back is Gail Higgins, Smutty's ex-wife and former Heartbreakers road manager. Between them is Mimi, Gail's younger sister or cousin (I forget). She headed the fan club.

Thanks for the identification. It looks like it's Gail Higgins who's image was in my head all those years. Amazing what a few seconds can do.

Smutty Smith. OMG. And, I remember when our cabs (where Checkers!) cost that much.
That was Danceteria, I'm pretty sure. Lots of the people I remember.
Wow. The Mr. Peabody's Way-Back Machine.

has anyone noticed that most of the rockabilly revival bands from the 80s have a cat on their name?
    Stray cats, Polecats, and Rockats?
