when maia teased this song, she said kaleidoscope sounds like falling in love for the first time. maybe it's a love song, i thought. and then the song released. i finally heard it. ngl it was better than i actually thought. this song spoke to me, about how you would be maintaining a pleasing image that people around you like. they would you for that as a person, but deep inside you feel empty knowing you're more than that. wishing someone would see you in a different angle.. but how? when you've started to dislike the other parts of you. coz when it's flawed and they don't like it what's the point of embracing it? it takes a while but, once you realize your true colors, and find the right people to express it with.. you'll be free like leaves in the wind. it's the day you'll feel blooming, and fall in love for the first time-- with yourself :)

We just want to flourish, and be able to blossom into who we are with no consequences. But the boxes that society has made for people restrict growth, people fear it. But when there are billions of different individuals on the earth it is impossible to have a set box to fit into.
I just connect to this song so much because being part of a minority group who is not generally seen as a "normal" person in society can be really tough when you're just trying to be who you are. This song, and the lyrics being someone who doesn't care what others think of her but WANTS those people to see her in "all of her colors", for who she truly is. She wants to let them in.

Does anyone know if someone posted a version of this where that bass type sound after 0:41 is removed or lowered. I listened with headphones and I don't want to hear it over the other sounds (they sound so cool and ethereal.) I'll have to listen to this without headphones in the future because that sound annoys me so much
