- Another lovely performance by Chris & Jayne in tonight's Finale of the 2024 series, joined by the Professional Skaters at the end. They never fail to move us.
They are STILL the best pair skaters. No one has touched their ability to take us with them!!
Don't get me wrong, they are good, however technical requirements have changed so much since they were in the top 10, that they wouldnt be the best now.
Jane is 66 & Chris is 65!!! Incredible!
REALLY? I am almost their same age and I could NEVER EVER stand up on ice skates due to my ankles being unstable and having been broken. this ASTOUNDING!
They should be made Dame Jayne and Sir Christopher! They have done so much for their sport and their country!

I agree. They are the main reason the program started and they have been a huge attraction all along. It is a shame this clip isn't already up.... and that Torvill and Dean were not the focus of the camera when they did their last lift. The professional skaters were in the way.
@@MeeMawTx I was annoyed with the camera angle for that last lift. It's a very impressive one especially at their age. Also the one Jayne got injured with last year so it would have been nice to actually see it after all she went through.
@ErikaA2582 Thank you so much for that information. I did not know that the final lift they did on Sunday was the one in which her bicep tendon ruptured last year. That was a courageous move which deserved to be celebrated.
I feel that the elimination of the jumping makes ice dancing much easier on the body than figure skating, so that people can keep doing it much longer
Or as Chris calls it, "age appropriate skating". 🥰

I seriously doubt that's true. Why would Karen mind when she's known Chris & Jayne for nearly 50 years as friends and British teammates. Chris has been very happy since being with her, and is close to Karen's family.

I totally agree, but sadly the costumes for DancingOnIce are designed and made by the same Wardrobe Department that does Strictly Come Dancing, not proper Skating Costume Designers/Makers. It's a great shame as they are unflattering on Jayne and make her look shapeless, whereas the stylist who dresses her for the Judging part of the show is great and she looks so glamorous!

I don't want them both to give up on their skating together. Christopher and Jayne are the perfect couple on the ice together. Please don't make this your last dance together. I think they’re still doing tours through 2025, but given their ages I can understand why they would retire. Even in great shape, they’re in their mid-60s. Like you I’ll miss them though.
