Base Binder is used to extend the durability of your grip wax. Re-apply it when you want longer lasting grip wax and after stripping old grip wax off.

What would be the best temperature range for putting binder?

I set my iron to 110F or 43C. Warming the tube of klister in warm water also works.

Is it necessary to use an iron on the base binder or does it just make it easier to smooth out?

It is just easier with an iron.
