Mr. Uday Kotak has sen it all happening and his optimistic outlook makes me believe that his thoughts about policy making and governance are already taking up physical space and stature
I absolutely loved Mr. Kotak's insights and suggestions, personally I respect him a lot and the best part he said was, instead of focusing a much higher economy, focus on increasing per capita income.

Exellent Mr. Uday Kotak who is an institution itself . The policy makers ie polticians and civil servants must act on his pieces of advice to build india a developed economy AND Business community to follow trusteeship concept for growth of the busiiness wholsomely .

Uday is truly a corporate statesman in the mould of Dhirubhai but far more eloquent.
It’s interesting to watch Uday Kotak trying to balance with his two feet in two boats. He’s all appreciation for the Govt. & all the institutions. At the same time he rues about absence of level playing field & the fear of the industry to invest in capex. We expect more courage from the doyens of the industry.

It’s same with Television & news channels - as economy matures there will be consolidation & all major economies have 2-3 players .. Important to note that both players are homegrown and not run on foreign capital..

I concur with many of Uday's observations. His prescription of more cars and more roads at 10:02:00 or thereabouts leaves me aghast at the now junked American model of development.
For accidents, serious driver education and severe fine for those who flout the rules and those drivers involved in serious accidents need to be sent for reassessment and mandatory driver reeducation. Seldom they stop for pedestrians at the pedestrian cross and take all sorts of shortcuts that they should not! Many think the rule of law is for someone else!

On one hand Mr. Kotak says that in the last few years banks have moved from commercial lending to retail lending and are raking in the profits. On another he blames policy for not having enough small off shoots and blooming flowers. Small businesses don’t grow in an environment where lending don’t have the so called animal instincts, big businesses have the where with all to drive on their instincts. Wrong to blame the government alone for policies where you aren’t putting your money where your mouth is.
