20:15 I have no doubt it’s an incomplete narrative thread. But I’ve always felt that’s a key piece of advantage in western/maybe anglospheric approach to war and battle. There’s no dishonour in a surrender. You submit today to fight tomorrow. It’s humiliating but it’s life, a chance to keep living. Sure it’s maybe useful to kamikaze a battle cruiser, but before long there’s no airforce left, and you’ll have no one to rebuild that system for next time etc etc. Take the loss, learn, try again next time.

I would say yes and no. Nothing in life is fair, but to put the race of those soldiers before their actions is still a bit unfair. You can trace similar things back to the civil war in America when a lot of Black Americans got their first chance to be a soldier. Being a soldier in anyone's war isn't a privilege, and picking at the subject isn't going to help it's just pointing figurers rather then working on a solution.
A very drastic comparison but similar, would be the concept of ex-nazi/soldiers who were forced into the party/way of life. While bringing up what horribleness happened and why it happened and the faults of it. Pointing figures at "mass groups" of people only drives more people to be blindly angry. The idea of forgive but don't forget.
