I think it's because this saying, "if you retire and stop, you die." is going around. It's not true, it's opposite of true, but people really believe this. I know 2 people who were struggling so badly with their health, they couldn't work anymore. They had to retire at only age 62, and guess what? They are thriving in retirement doing things around the house and running chores for family members. Retiring saved their lives AND health. This is proof that saying going around, is a lie.
The average life expectancy with dementia is 5 years. Given how bad he was when he became President and his continued decline, he's unlikely to live even 2 more years, but could go any time. I've had a couple of family members who've suffered and died with dementia, but they were doing better than Biden, until the very end.

Everything you said is truth and reasonable. But older people nowadays are not "bowing out" and retiring. Everyone is hanging on to their positions, even if they are slipping. I think it's because this saying, "if you retire and stop, you die." is going around. It's not true, it's opposite of true, but people really believe this. I know 2 people who were struggling so badly with their health, they couldn't work anymore. They had to retire at only age 62, and guess what? They are thriving in retirement doing things around the house and running chores for family members. Retiring saved their lives AND health. This is proof that saying going around, is a lie.
The average life expectancy with dementia is 5 years. Given how bad he was when he became President and his continued decline, he's unlikely to live even 2 more years, but could go any time. I've had a couple of family members who've suffered and died with dementia, but they were doing better than Biden, until the very end.
