What a great game, felt like i had been teleported 30 years back to the 90’s of Bath Leicester games! 👏🏻👏🏻

I'm a Tigers fan and that last scrum shouldn't have been a penalty. If Bath went down on the other side in front of the ref then fair enough for him to make that call, but the touch judge should absolutely call a reset there if that is the case.

I am not a Leicester or bath fan, but it was really poor from the touch official not to call Leicester 3's knee down around 6:15 in the final scrum. at minimum a reset should have probably been a penalty the other way. If a rain covered shaky camera can pick it up then the touch official should be able to as well.

This may not seem like much of an achievement but Leicester's record at bath is shocking they only have like 1 win there in the last 20 or so years, they always step up when they play Tigers at the Rec, what a win!!!

Jeez. Finn Russell can't win it single handedly.

Sometimes you wonder why refs make life so difficult for themselves. I think they should be encouraged to remember that scrums are primarily supposed to be a way of restarting the game, not winning a penalty. In the final seconds of the game, especially in those conditions, they should only be calling a penalty for something that is completely clear-cut. Otherwise just "over-officiate" the Bath scrum half to make sure the Leicester SH can get the ball out cleanly and have a crack from there.

Wow how does the touch judge not see the Leicster prop drop straight to the floor horrific officiating.

Same with SA hinging last week v England. Refs cant officiate scrums properly, touch judge should be calling it from his view too. Oh well I will take the points as a tiger XD

@sensistar6709 last week was different as by the time SA were getting pens it looked like they had scrum dominance this one was just an out and out error from a touch judge who's job it is to assist the ref

@@dsh301 I agree but it doesn't matter if SA had been dominating scrums up until that point - the refs should assess the scrum in front of them

@@jamesmcnulty3697 this is the problem isn't it? You get the feeling penalties are awarded based on their perception of who has the stronger scrum.

@@craigwright9798 I do feel that's the case but I also feel like we pretend to see more than a random person getting penalised and no one knowing why lol

bath were shafted at the end. scrum penalty probably should have gone to them as the leicester prop is long and knee goes ground first. scrum reset best decision for ref

What is happening to rugby referees? And not just at club level, but as we all have seen in the world cup, at international level too, with the likes of O'Keefe winning the game for SA against France. The extremely ambiguous and over complicated rules need to be simplified urgently, and referees performance looked at more closely by an independent body after every single match.

Its not even the poor referees that annoys me, Its the inconsistent between them as it leads to you having no idea what he's going to be penalising that day. they supposedly do get together to discuss situations and how they should be reffed but over the last year I have seen 0 evidence of that

Like even Wayne Barnes (who is the best in the world) shit the bed in the last 10 mins of the final
