Hey all! Interestingly, when I played FF12: The Zodiac Age, only the PS4 version of the game was available and it was not possible to switch jobs once you made your choices, hence why I made this video. A lot of people complained to me that the method in this video was just so wrong to use (just read some of the original / older comments) because Square did not want players changing jobs and this video was violating their game design. I was honestly surprised it was such a controversial video. My attitude was always, its a single player game and if players want to tinker around with different builds and stuff then this method was a great idea because it gave them a means to do so! Of course, Square have since released the Zodiac Age on other consoles (and PC) with the ability to change jobs built directly into the game. They later patched the PS4 version with the same feature which kinda makes this video somewhat redundant now (unless you are playing an older update of the game on PS4). But I also feel somewhat vindicated for sharing a workaround for people who wanted to switch jobs, that resulted in a lot of unexpected negativity, that Square later patched directly into the game anyway :)
Hey man, screw anyone who had a problem with it enough to tell you about it. You're right, above all, it's a single player game, who gives a damn how you tinker with you're property. And with how often square likes to move on to their next project, how could you expect them to patch it? I thiugh thisnwas brilliant. I just bought the game today on steam so I have no need but kudos to you for coming up with this method seeing as how for all you knew, this is just how it was going to be. Very smart man.
you have helped me with so much even my final fantasy vii replay to 100% which I completed bro all items verified from game files lol so idc you cant see the future f every 1
This was a good idea before they let you change jobs when ever you wanted to. lol at all the haters telling you this isn't the way the game's meant to be played. Especially that one saying old final fantasy games locked you into your job choices. I'd like to know what these old FF games are, because FF3 introduced the job system and let you change jobs. Nothing is stopping you from playing through those first twelve hours and then loading your master save. I made a master save for the DS version of FF3. It's only about a half hour into the game, but that was just enough to send out all the wifi mail needed to get the job lvl 99 equipment and the super boss in the end game.
Me playing for the 4th time/1st time (zodiac ver.): Shikari/foebreaker- Vaan Timebattle/ Machinist- balthier Archer/monk- Fran Red/black mage- Ashe Knight/bushi- Basch White mage/ Uhlan- Penelo Currently need to beat the 100th trial for PSN platinum.
Yea the switch and xbox version is going to abuse the hell out of the Job refund be prepared to see some crazy things in the future it'll be interesting to see what combos people come up with.
I loved this game it had so much content probably one of the final fantasy with the most content in my own opinion and from the final fantasy's I've played.
I killed Yiazmat with 6 Machinist on IZJS, where you can pick just ONE JOB P/ CHARACTER. And this guy put on tittle "WHY YOU SHOULD NOT CHOOSE JOBS IMMEDIATELY". Now to who will read my comment: CHOOSE THE JOBS ANY WAY YOU WANT :DDDDDD and enjoy yourself.
Idk if this is active anymore but if you talk to montblac on the Xbox series s he asks if you'd like to change your job. So you can change them by going to montblac.
Might be worth mentioning there are some pretty great weapons you can aquire in the first ten Trials than can be equipped without Licenses. Demon Wall is a whole lot easier if you can lay out some fast punishment with three Sword of Kings :)
The reason, why jobs are permanent is because the creator wanted players to think about choices before making them recklessly. It's likely not going to be patched.
But this is worse that this available so early in the game and anyone who hasn't played the good version wouldn't know how to approach it properly without doing a lot of research. At that point the game is almost pointless to play almost.
Final Fantasy games usually have tough decisions in them and you have to be thoughtful how you want to play if you desire the best results. This is nothing new, idk why people are bitching so hard
@@dustinpowell5981 well Now you can change jobs in New release..... And what ff game had tough choices? None of rn had tough choices between 6-15 that I played
Luckily you can change jobs with the new updates, and you don't have to re-earn LP. It's just a pain to go through and unlock each ability/equipment icon on the license board when you change jobs, but it's only a minor pain I guess.
Playing through 20hours relying fully on items to heal isnt too hard but it sounds tedious, ive read elsewhere your choices on group roles wont have a knock on effect to make dealing with yiazimat \ trials impossible. Hence my battlecleric penelo charging in swinging her warhammer whilst providing heals, might not be optimal but its fun
Most intuitive job combinations are good enough to get the job done. If you choose garbage combinations for all characters then you will suffer a lot through the game. Of course now that doesn't matter anymore since you can respec from the first hunt.
I did this and I am happy with it. Some may like the method some wont, but in the end just do what YOU want to do. I farmed Trial Mode Stage 1 for the Diamond Armlet, and then sold it, and bought Phoenix Downs at the Seeq by the Nalbina Entrance and then I did the Dustia farming to level up to 20-25. I also farmed Sword of Kings in Trial Mode Stage 10 when Larsa was in the group since he's a good healer with Cura ability. I got 3 Sword of Kings and gave it to my party and I was able to do this method a lot faster. Thank you!
Now the trick is assigning the right combination of jobs because two trophies in the game are based on you learning all technicks and all magicks. And I can't remember if the hidden trophy was activating all tiles on every license board which can only be accomplished by picking the right pairs so that regardless of you activating your mist charges and who gets what esper, you can still grab abilities that would otherwise blocked off for the whole playthrough
Hey folks. This video is kinda redundant for those of you playing on Nintendo Switch or Xbox One as the means to change jobs is built right into the game! Here is how: ua-cam.com/video/IzWFuVW9frE/v-deo.html
They're lucky :(. I just have Yazamat left, I was able to do everything else I missed thanks to your guides, thank you! Now thinking of doing a new side 100%playthrough with different jobs while referring to your playthroughs
I’ve just seen this option when playing in game on the One X, it’s a great addition. Do you recommend certain builds for certain characters? I feel like my choices aren’t bad, do you have any party build videos? My choices are below: Basch - Bushi and Monk Vaan - Shikari and Foebreaker Ashe - Black Mage + Red Mage Balthier - Knight + Bushi Penelo - White Mage + Machinist Fran - Archer + Uhlan
why hasn't the PS4 been given this update yet? Are they just gonna ignore the ps4 users and still let people buy the game without releasing this update? had I known before getting the game before hand I'd have only bought it on the switch.
the thing is, the stats cap makes everyone can do well with any jobs, at least well enough to finish the game plus all the extra bosses. even penello can reach 99 str if she have a job that equips heavy armors. and even basch can reach 99 mag if he have a job that equip mystic armor. but sure there are other great combination that works better. like a machinist or shikari that have second job that can equip mystic armor so dark shot/yagyuu darkblade's combine with black robe will basically be the yiazmat killer. or a knight with any mystic armor second job so the excalibur-white robe damage can kill those undeads in late game dungeons faster. or maybe a red/black mage combination so it can equip flame staff and cast ardor to annihilate anything that don't resist fire damage. but again, u don't really need all of these. the thing about this video suggest, u will be forced to play the first 12 hrs of this game without a good gambit setup. i'd imagine u will have to open your menu very often because u basically dont use any gambits. the intention of having a gambit system is u don't need to open the menu bar that often, or even at all. coz honestly, it shouldn't take more than 5 hrs to the belius fight if u don't do any marks/sidequest, if u have a decent gambit setup. gambits is the essence of the whole battle system in this game. i mean if u play the game and have to open the menu like every 3 seconds in every boss fight, than u probably play the game wrong. and even if u only do this the first 12 hrs i still think it was a huge waste of time.
Yeah.. even on switch. You can switch jobs out by talking to Mont Blanc at the hunt club in Rabanastre. I actually enjoyed my random mix of jobs. I ensured I was using all 12.. only job I hate is the Machinest. It's useless so I made Baltgier an Ulan Monk
I'm doing this game in 2022. The gigas esper has disappeared from the license board. I was not impressed having to trek all the way from the gigas gate to a teleport stone to try and work out what's going on
Hey all, Fuzz here. First of all, I am pleased many have come on board with the idea of using a 'master save file' so that you have a permanent means of testing out various job combinations and builds. While I knew upfront that not everybody was going to care for this kind of idea, and that people would voice (type) their disagreement; I admit I did not anticipate the level of abuse that has been sent my way, not only through these comments but privately too - I guess the joke is on me for underestimating the true nature of humanity when combined with the anonymity of a keyboard! For those who have disagreed with the points in this video (even strongly) but have done so respectively, thank you for your feedback. Now, sadly, I do think many have misunderstood the purpose of creating a 'master save file' (it is not to undermine the Jobs system, to make the game easier or to make the Zodiac Age feel more like the original game) and that was likely my fault in not explaining things as clearly as I could have and is definitely something I will learn from going forward. However, after reading your comments I stand by my initial position that having a dedicated file with all jobs and party members unlocked is beneficial for all those of us who enjoy testing and playing with various builds and combinations. If you personally don't think its worth the effort to do this (and its hardly a big effort really) then that is absolutely fine - but please realize that you are only expressing a subjective opinion and it would be wrong to then suggest that nobody would benefit from this method or enjoy using it. Personally, I don't much care for destroying everything with six Seitengrat bows since I believe it undermines the difficulty of the game in a way that I wouldn't enjoy (something that using a master save file to try different job combos does not do). However, I also understand that is my view and that there are many players who do not want to play any other way than with six Seitengrats, decimating everything in their path - and that's great! Why should we all enjoy the same style of play? That's why I even made a video explaining how to get the weapon I personally don't even care for using - because I don't pretend that my way is the right way - its just one way. So I am more than happy for the discussion/debate on this video to continue, just please do so respectfully. Thanks!
there are ways to use other people's saves. with a little research on google you can find out how to do it for yourself. sony may not like it, but oh well. could you please put the master save back up? I can use it in a few clicks.
this my second play though of Final fantasy 12 job combo Vaan: Knight/Bushi Balthier: White/Shiraki Fran; machinist/White mage Basch: Knight/Time Battlemage Ash: Red Battlemage/Archer Penelo: Black mage/Monk
This isn't too difficult overall. I made it past the Judge Ghis fight with ease but this is because I trained at 4x speed against undead in the Lhusu Mines. You can chain them infinitely (I do it until I get 99 drops to sell them off) and the fight is easy with two cure healers (Fran & "Lamont"). You can also do a first Master Save File after you beat Ghis and get Penelo back if you want to test classes but you can only test one and no combinations. Great video, it gave me the idea to wait and the game is easy without choosing early if you prepare enough.
does this game is lower in graphich for the Nintendo switch? my game grphic seems lower than yours here, i thought its because my TV is 55" but its the same on the screen of the Nintendo switch
Wish I'd have seen this before I played. I have all my PC's jobs chosen and can now never have a black mage because I made Vaan and Basch both Knights in the beginning.
If you guys are so but hurt about doing this his way then just get the secret bow in the game for each which at that point fixes the damage gap. and you don't need LP to get it.
I personally dont recommend waiting until all jobs are open.. If you want to try new build.. Just simply start the game from the start.. Select and new job than your previous playthrough.. Its soo much fun having a job at the early parts of the game
My job setup: MAIN PARTY Vaan - Bushi/Shikari Penelo - White mage/Shikari Ashe - Knight/Time Battlemage SECONDARY PARTY Balthier - Machinist/White mage Fran - Archer/Black mage Balthier - Uhlan/Time Battlemage I'm quite enjoying my playthrough. When you get the second job, you can go ahead and grab 2 Gladius daggers from the giant wolf in the Westersands. For Vaan and Penelo. And I also did get an early Karkata for Ashe, as by the time you get it normally in the game you've got better weapons. There's also other good early weapons that are completely optional to get including: Kiku-Ichimonji (katana), Obelisk (Spear), Assassin Dagger, and a Demonsbane sword if you're not keen on Karkata. I also went for the Burning Bow early on after I obtained the weapons above. I also was able to do hunts as they came along in the story which is great fun. Currently working on getting Masamune. :) For anyone who'd like to give this fun method a try. Also if you're feeling broken you can use your secondary team like I do for fun. I use them for the story bosses most of the time and my main party for hunts.
My favorite job pics: Vaan monk / bushi Penelo blackmage/ time battlemage Balthier white mage/ foebreaker Fran shikari/ white mage Basch knight / bushi Ashe blackmage/ red battlemage
This dose not help me. I have skills that will not unlock on both sets on each player..How do I unlock the skills that are on the outside of the skill board ? I completed all others ,but it won't let me open the extra skills like 450+health..
I saved one file after Belias + 8 hours of skeleton grinding before choosing the second job. Once I found the Seitengrat guide yesterday, I decided to quit my current game and load the save, so I could have more abilities for each character. I don't care, I like playing God mode.
Tbh I think the zodiac age license board is way better because of the decision you have to make. You have to analyze each character to see which class goes with which character and how they can utilize them.
i'm just playing this game for real now hehe wish they update the PS4 with the bonus features of switch. You're playlist for this game is great, been my guide - even the no jobs until belias. Some thoughts tho, I believe its better to exit the dungeon and save after defeating belias and not get the dawn shard. At that point, the orange crystal can still teleport you so can still go to other places without forcing you to do leviathan. I think that is the best point of the game to choose jobs where afterwards, can loot seitengrat, loot the trial stages, and when satisfied.. do leviathan hehe just a thought.
i dont want this job feature at all. is there a possibility that i can Remove it or play without it and have acces to all abilities and perks, weapons like in the PS2 original? im need solutions. i want to enjoy this game again without the job system like in the old days
This seems dumb. Why would people wanna skip the first quarter of the game by starting from the "master save". Seems like the answer to a problem that doesnt exist lol? Do people play FFXII over and over again in a row so much that they would want to skip the entire first quarter of it lol?
Can anyone explain the actual process of getting 2 licenses, I understand I have e to get to this point in the game first but does it add a new license square to purchase first or does it just let you choose a second license tree as part of the story I'm unclear on that part
Dont know why everyone is defending the Directors decision to make jobs permanent. It's like getting a job during high school or shortly after high school working part time at lets say... Mc.Donalds, in the directors eyes too bad you're stuck there you're whole life now, no quitting and going somewhere else, you're stuck there forever. How is that even remotely close to a perminant real life choice?
I have tried to do this as I liked the idea, however mid game I find myself not enjoying the game, or game overs that much, I think it should have been best to explain how to actually survive till you reach the 2nd license. I think reaching mid-game with states similar to ones you started with (4 as a defense?) is very aching. I just keep pressing menu to heal/revive all the time. However starting up with the first license (different for each character) then after receiving the second one you can make a file and play with a combination till you find one that suits you.. eventually each party will use 2 unique licenses and better chose them the way you think fit the character as an example, I can't imagine Ache with a hammer! lol she has this white mage characteristic around her and the game does help with giving each party a starter weapon the benefits them and their persona..
don't see how you would beat demon wall just by hitting it, even if you manage to get right in front of it at the start of it's crawl there is not enough time to beat it with the default gear. i found the only way i was able to beat it was to use reflect items found on the dreadnought and casting aero on the party so it reflected back at the wall.
Thank you - this video was extremely helpful for my specific play style of this game. I was very, very careful in how I chose my characters and made it halfway through the game before realizing that while I chose each class for each character very well, it just didn't feel quite right and I was spending far too much time switching up characters, weapons and gambits from encounter-to-encounter. I wish I had set up a two-team party that can handle any situation as a trio. I also completely screwed up my Fran as there are certain things about the new job system I did not understand when I assigned her jobs. Now I'm starting over, and am going to make this master save file like you suggest in case I ruin things again.
The steam version now allows u to change job by mountblanc. I use 3 knights early on (males because they score higher numbers of combo) each using karkatan. Then later change one to shikari/foebreaker combo once i get acces to ninjasword. And then the other one to bushi/monk. And the last one stayed at being a knight paired with bushi job. OP af. U can also paired knight with timemage. Also OP.
I have Vaan as a Shikiri, Balthier and Basch as Knights, Fran as a Foebreaker, Peleno as a white mage, and Ashe as a black mage. I'm wondering, does everyone get a second job class after getting the dawn shard? Or does only one person get another one?
But here's the thing... job selection isn't permanent. You can go to Montblanc at any time and ask him to reset your LP boards. You can literally go to him before any tough fight and set your party specifically to take on that boss or mark. For free. You can also reset them if you find you made a small mistake while selecting Licenses the first time, like not getting the 120 lp cost quickening for shikari that has the Yagyu darkblade behind it. Perhaps this isn't the case on PS4, but it is the case on PC.
I like new job system and committing to your choices. I made my choices by trying to commit my characters to certain weapons. pick your weapons then assign the job. peace.
Honestly, I'm with you on this, sir. Play a game how you like it. Personally, I HATE it when you can't undo decisions in games, permanently missable items, or anything of the sort. If the director sees it should play out a certain way, okay. However, the director is the one who knows that the game is being sold to consumers...to consume however they like. I like having options, being flexible, trying different things, but being able to redo decisions if I realize I screw up in a game. I like things like the Face Sculptor in Riften, or the Tactician's Renewal. These features shouldn't be free necessarily, but they are nice to have for "those types" of personalities like me who enjoy that little taste of perfection in their games. And yes, I get that life isn't like that. However, this is a game. O_O Thanks for the video!
The only reason I can see to do this is if you want to go through the game multiple times without having to go through the first twelve hours each time. I for one will only complete this game once. So there would be no need in me doing this. I will go through this with the tried and true system of tank, dps, and healer with either the tank or dps as an off healer, then grind to max level and annihilate everything that gets in my way.
I agree with you that the only reason to do this is if you were to play it multiple times or if you managed to unlock weak mode and want to see what was the optimal way (not saying there is). Also I think the official guide also gave the same piece of advice (as Fuzzfinger) but I think they say the start of the tomb Also do the game up to here has been a bit by the numbers (which every FF games does up to a particular point so if I want to start again a save where x amount of the early game is gone would be great and then I could do a different combo. I started doing the game this way and got so far with no real troubles (the Judge fight) and then went sod it as I was dying so much. So I could say that's my start point if I wanted to start again.
So many parrots in the comments talking about the creator's dumb choice to mimic real life decisions. I don't play games for realism. I get enough of that in actual life which doesn't take place in Ivalice. Tactics is arguably one of the most loved FF games and you can change things whenever.
actually i dont like the 2-job system, i prefer to choose a single job and stick with it. and you can equip every weapon and armor, BUT it wont be as effective or has negative effect if you're using a job not suitable for it
first I'm torn on this idea as you already get a thought on what you want at least three of the characters should be so for an easier time I can see having those 3 leveling in their jobs as soon as you get them while holding off on the rest until later in the game, especially if you go through the trouble of getting the diamond armlet from the first challenge (I mean you can get it as soon as you make your first save, and I mean Van since you lose all items from Rek). While the other 3 characters are job clones when they first appear so it makes sense to save them until this point in the game. Second I can see the point of going this far if you want to play with the jobs and see for yourself what jobs fit what character. Unfortunately any save state files for this game are dead links on Gamefaqs so you will need to make one of these for yourself if you want it. And that is why I'm torn on this as I just want to have fun playing the game and as of a previous update you can change your choices (I just don't know if you get all of the points back or have to start from scratch on that) which means you could use jobs to this point then go and remove them to make this clean file (especially if you get the points back, if not then it's a toss up on if you'd want to do this or not) and it's not like ff 8 where you'd want to do a low level playthrough to save trouble. so like I said I'm torn about this.
hey dude, I loved this idea. this is my first time playing though ffxii and I must say this video was a God sent. I tweaked with the job system and found my ideal setup. it was totally different than what I had on mind originally, when introduced to the zodiac job system. thanks for your idea on the master save file. also, it was comically easy to do, which took me by surprise too!
People might label channels that has video(s) disabling likes/dislikes as untrustworthy source of information/content out of principle. That's why bigger channels don't do that, except for the most extreme of situations, regardless of the dislike ratios. Just something to keep in mind fuzz.
I don't get it. People are legit complaining about a unique technique in a game. A GAME. Yes, I understand, the creator wanted to make players feel like it is real life and that you stick to one choice and commit to it. But, you don't *have* to think of it that way. It's also just a game. It's not like methods for a GAME affects your personal life.
Tidus from FFX I actually wish I did this coz there's only 2 classes that can learn cura, curaga and both are in my main team since I want dark knight kinda build (knight, red mage) and I use white mage to heal
i did know you could use someone elses save file on someone elses game on ps4 i had gta 5 and ended up buying another copy and giving the old one away but when i tried to play with my save it wouldn't show up in that copy of the game
seriourly i haven't had to use potions all that often my sources of healing have been just running back to save points and using cure when available i just haven't found to be needed as much as i thought i would when starting with your guide
l think the reason you cant change jobs was in an interview. The director, l believe, said he wanted it to be like real life, where you make a choice and you have to commit to it. lt was basically words to that effect. But thank you for this video. l feel like lve chosen some jobs too fast. lve picked things that made sense like Archer for Fran but still. l have Ashe with no job but l might hold off on it, l thought shed be a good white mage but l dont know now. The fact we can use all 12 jobs anyway makes me worry less about making a mistake. l mean, you NEED a White Mage, or at the very least a red one. ls there a job that specialises in Green Magic, l forget. l think its Red only for that, but then again Fran can learn those. Ah!
u don't really "NEED" a white mage. i play the international ps2 version without a white mage all the way to the secret bosses like yiazmat, zodiark, omega. red mage's cura is more than enough to heal everything. even the innate cure spell from the female characters is enough if you pick a job that equip mystic armor like samurai or black mage. and don't forget knight and monk also has access to useful healing spells later on. but yeah, with this version's 2 jobs/char i don't see why don't at least have 1 WM. as for green magick, technically there are only 3 "groups" of green magick spells in the license board and all the mages (black, white, red and time) have access to them. but if you are thinking about the green spells from the original ff12, there are few changes. the buff spells like protect, shell, faith, bravery now falls under white magick and the negative status spells like silence, sleep , etc now falls under black magick.
mooganify after finding out that multiple characters can pick the same job that takes a load off, since knights and monks get access to cura or curaja without the need for a white mage. Basch is my Bushido Archer and he heals more than my white mage Balthier
You two are indeed correct. l was just assuming you'd need a White Mage because "omg its a freaking WM, it heals you and stuff". But I'm learning this as l play, l didn't want to Google anything because l thought that'd kinda ruin the first experience of this version. I actually just unlocked Curaja and Esuna for my Knight/Time Mage Basch after picking the Mateus Esper because it seemed like the only one that made sense due to the abilities l could now reach. l chose Belias for Shikari/Bushi Vaan but l kinda wish l looked at where it was placed for my other characters, maybe l did, but l think l just chose it because l heard Espers didnt really matter who they went with, but l still have all my Yiazmat gear avaliable so lm good. lf the female character's cure, however, is good enough to do the job then perhaps l need to look into what armor they have because it seems like it takes forever for them to heal anyone when they're around. Balthier is my WM, too, l did think this was a weird recommendation when l read about it but its a good pick seeing as how guns do fixed damage. Basch being recomended Archer also seemed a little odd, it seemed like some jobs were just created for some characters, like Machinist for Balthier with it being able to use Guns n all, but its great that you aren't kneecapped with whatever you choose, which l did wonder could be the case if no WM was chosen, at first. But this can all be done for experimentation in future playthroughs, which l look forward to do, with the benefits of this version making there be less physical time spent grinding and combined with hopefully my own experience that l have learned. Jobs just seem weird now that l think about, they arent as obvious game changers as l thought they might be, thats probably because they wanted to keep it like the original because of what the game is like, they cant change it too much or really make your jobs hurt your overall experience because of how long the game is and because theyre permanent, how horrible would it be to have a made a bad choice because you didnt know any better and be punished for it, but thats like life, lol! Ashe's MP seems to go to waste though, she just got the leftover jobs of Breaker/Monk but they seem like a fun mix, she apparently can get access to Cura at some point and lm guessing l need an Esper to bridge the gap. But after getting better versions for Basch, l guess its not as necessary as it was before but you never know what might happen. l notice that with Green Magick actually! It did seem a bit off, but l suppose it makes it a little more unique now, l suppose? Like how it has things like Decoy. lm so used to Haste being a White Mage thing but Basch has it, being a Time Mage n all. Maybe my WM can get it too, who knows, l'll need to have another look. But thank you both. :)
What do you think about the jobs? Do you think they add all that much to the gameplay to make it feel different? Maybe its because l've been playing it for over a week already but l think at first it made it all feel different with characters not just being OP tanks that know everything but that sensation subsided after l got used to it, l think. Still great fun though.
mooganify whoever goes as your main healer i recommend using the turtleshell choker on them since it replaces all the magic cost with gil, never going over a few hundred even for the highest spells, and you won't have to worry about bosses or enemies that drain magic
I never beat this game... I don't even remember playing it really other than I didn't like it, 15 years ago lol. Only played 13 "lightning returns" for like two hours and never again
I dont get it. The devs want you to take the time to choose jobs wisely for more strategic gameplay. But, at the same time leave open so many ways to break the game. Afk leveling, early this, early that, a bow that breaks damage limit as soon as you take control of vaan. Lol. its sad really.
I did this myself on my strong mode playthrough. Even with everyone at level 90 the mandatory demon wall was a nightmare lol. Literally all my characters were doing 0 damage to it except vossler. But now i can restart from raithwall whenever i want to try new jobs, plus i already have all the grimoires because i farmed gil in the bujherba mines
best jobs are : Vaan : Knight /Machinist Balthier: Whitemage /Shikari Fran: Archer/ Redmage Basch: Bushi / Timemage Ashe : Monk/ Uhlan Penelo: Foebreaker / Blackmage Everybody gets the Espers for White Magick-license Spent early on Max.TP+ because it stacks % for later
Meh not every character needs to heal some are built as tanks to deal massive damage your setup is fine for in game mode and stuff but in trial mode you may run into problems but hey you do you I went with Vaan knight/shikari Fran time mage / foe breaker Basch monk /uhlan Ashe red battle mage / Archer Penelo black mage / bushi Balthier knight / white mage Plus in the new switch and xbox release you can change your boards for the ultimate set up plus with your party comp I feel like your missing out on Ashe's mage cabilities.
this is terrible. the only master save you need (if you want) is at the beginning with 99 pheonix downs, but before farming dustia, so you have a choice. also i don't know why you bothered linking your master saves, you're the only one who can use them.
I am playing ffxii for the first time and I love it. I have the original 2006 PS2 release. I am playing it on my Silver PS2. Now I have some questions. Between Zodiac and original which is better? Is Zodiac the equivalent of an International version for ffxii? Is there an HD Remaster of the original? Besides job rolls is there any other differing game content between the two? I also got the Deluxe Offical game guide. with Art book, poster and detailed walkthrough. Now I am trying to get into the cave of Murmurs to get Zaeal the Death Seraph. Now I am bring the ingredients to the woman in the small village on the south Bank. So she is healing some poor soul. I got the Great Serpent Skin from the Mark in the mines and I sold it for a good amount of money before I even had the guide to let me know. So am I fucked now? Is there perhaps another Great Serpent skin I can achieve else where in the game??
There's no remaster on the original version, besides zodiac jobs there are some new weapons added in zodiac version ,there is no another great serpentskin in the game, about which one is better,i prefer the original version but this is subjective
the game creator himself made the game with the job system (during the re-release in Japan that first introduced the job system) and made it so people would make their choices and stick with it like in real life, there are a lot of things like that in this game actually if you look closely at them and I highly doubt he'd allow an option to change jobs later on down the road (I can't tell the future but doing that is counter intuitive to what he'd originally planned for the game, why just say screw it and add that feature that isn't even needed that badly?). if anything just spend a minute and think about the character, how you wanna use them, think about short term and long term, and choose. I did that and at the end of the game right now I'm very happy with my choices and it's not like you won't end up using all of them if you so wish, all the characters and jobs are useful in their own ways
Well they changed it. So I call bullshit on his statement, it's a video game, why compare it to real life. And if we make multiple saves like this video that just counters the director's statement. Wonder what his statement is now
This is a very good idea and i will be doing it on my second playthrough to test combos out. On my first playthrough i just decided everyones primary class then made a master save at the same point youre describing. The only issue with that is not all combos are possible. I may even just do vaans class as whm/shikari just so i have a rdm/tank/mage all in one as my master save lol and it will just make things a little easier i guess
"You cant change jobs after selecting one, i dont know why." Because you should have to live with the decisions you make sometimes. Games these days are so no commital to decisions, its kinda lame. Even SE backstepped this and patched in Job Switching later. No ones willing to live with the decisions they make anymore.
Honestly I just picked jobs that were fitting for each person. The only one I didn't choose was shikari and I am going through the game with no issues.
For an update you can change your jobs at Montblanc in the guild in Rabanastre
serious when, damn. thats good then
@@TheDragonboy2 was this actually true?
@LSDon-gs7bz yeah he's at the guild
@LSDon-gs7bz yeah after switch release
what version of it can change job in montblac? 0.9.10?
I'm following your walkthrough right now and I had no problem without a job. How would you know what square will do in the future lol.
It is a great walkthrough without jobs so great explanation 👍🏾
Me playing for the 4th time/1st time (zodiac ver.):
Shikari/foebreaker- Vaan
Timebattle/ Machinist- balthier
Archer/monk- Fran
Red/black mage- Ashe
Knight/bushi- Basch
White mage/ Uhlan- Penelo
Currently need to beat the 100th trial for PSN platinum.
I hope you got the plant I'm going for it myself, I've got a lot of work ro do. 😅
Did you get it?
@@danwillburn I was getting my ass kicked over and over again so I turned to YT
So glad the Switch version allows freedom of changing jobs at will.
Did not know that. Well now I don’t have to worry about making the perfect team if I can swap classes.
Yea the switch and xbox version is going to abuse the hell out of the Job refund be prepared to see some crazy things in the future it'll be interesting to see what combos people come up with.
What? Nooo I just made this master save file lol
all versions allow that...
PS4 allows job change as well now
Being honest I was expected some kind of review on jobs and optimized combinations. Do you have a video with such information?
I loved this game it had so much content probably one of the final fantasy with the most content in my own opinion and from the final fantasy's I've played.
I killed Yiazmat with 6 Machinist on IZJS, where you can pick just ONE JOB P/ CHARACTER. And this guy put on tittle "WHY YOU SHOULD NOT CHOOSE JOBS IMMEDIATELY". Now to who will read my comment: CHOOSE THE JOBS ANY WAY YOU WANT :DDDDDD and enjoy yourself.
You can now reset jobs on PC version as well.
I'm still waiting for him to explain why I should wait until 12 hours in.
The reason, why jobs are permanent is because the creator wanted players to think about choices before making them recklessly. It's likely not going to be patched.
So its like the first final fantasy then? Good. I'm not sure why gamers are so adverse to having to actually make choices with consequences in games.
These people would lose their minds on some of the originals, with only 1 job selection, and practically no hints as to how to complete the game.
Tip:
If you're going to do this make sure to abuse Vossler's "Wither" & "Expose" Technicks!
(It's extremly fun to play with no jobs)
I did this and I am happy with it. Some may like the method some wont, but in the end just do what YOU want to do.
I farmed Trial Mode Stage 1 for the Diamond Armlet, and then sold it, and bought Phoenix Downs at the Seeq by the Nalbina Entrance and then I did the Dustia farming to level up to 20-25. I also farmed Sword of Kings in Trial Mode Stage 10 when Larsa was in the group since he's a good healer with Cura ability. I got 3 Sword of Kings and gave it to my party and I was able to do this method a lot faster.
Thank you!
Hey, they actually patched the PS4 version recently. Yeah
You still should not choose right away I save up around 500 lp first so I can get some solid paths going 😃
You can change jobs using the hunt moogle montblac.
My choices are below:
Basch - Bushi and Monk
Vaan - Shikari and Foebreaker
Ashe - Black Mage + Red Mage
Balthier - Knight + Bushi
Penelo - White Mage + Machinist
Fran - Archer + Uhlan
why hasn't the PS4 been given this update yet?
Thanks for the advice! I was feeling nostalgic and purchased FF12 The Zodiac Age recently! I'm glad I did!
Yeah.. even on switch.
Thanks!
Where is the master save file?
I took it down, it didn't work on other ps4s sadly.
do you mind if I try it on mine
there are ways to use other people's saves. with a little research on google you can find out how to do it for yourself. sony may not like it, but oh well.
could you please put the master save back up? I can use it in a few clicks.
Sure, the link is still active its just hidden from the website but here it is: goo.gl/jMB4Rc
this my second play though of Final fantasy 12
job combo
Vaan: Knight/Bushi
Balthier: White/Shiraki
Fran; machinist/White mage
Basch: Knight/Time Battlemage
Ash: Red Battlemage/Archer
Penelo: Black mage/Monk
UPDATE: Selections are not permanent anymore ;)
You mean to say this somewhat absurd recommendation is no longer even relevant?
This isn't too difficult overall. I made it past the Judge Ghis fight with ease but this is because I trained at 4x speed against undead in the Lhusu Mines. You can chain them infinitely (I do it until I get 99 drops to sell them off) and the fight is easy with two cure healers (Fran & "Lamont").
You can also do a first Master Save File after you beat Ghis and get Penelo back if you want to test classes but you can only test one and no combinations.
Great video, it gave me the idea to wait and the game is easy without choosing early if you prepare enough.
Yo fuzz i gunna guess and say you know this but you can change your job in the game you have to talk to mount blanc in the clan building
ONLY on NINTENDO SWITCH and XBOX ONE ONLY on these two can you change jobs NOT on PS4
You can pick jobs again and you get all your license points again if not then just for the switch release
does this game is lower in graphich for the Nintendo switch? my game grphic seems lower than yours here, i thought its because my TV is 55" but its the same on the screen of the Nintendo switch
Nowadays you can change jobs at any time by talking to Montblanc in Rabanastre.
I bought this game for 34.99 last week great game for that price
nice job!
My job setup:
MAIN PARTY
Vaan - Bushi/Shikari
Penelo - White mage/Shikari
Ashe - Knight/Time Battlemage
SECONDARY PARTY
Balthier - Machinist/White mage
Fran - Archer/Black mage
Balthier - Uhlan/Time Battlemage
I'm quite enjoying my playthrough.
You put Balthier twice
My favorite job pics: Vaan monk / bushi
Penelo blackmage/ time battlemage
Balthier white mage/ foebreaker
Fran shikari/ white mage
Basch knight / bushi
Ashe blackmage/ red battlemage
I'm just wonder if it's better to have 2 white healers or just one healer and one Red Mage or one white mage and one black mage
This dose not help me. I have skills that will not unlock on both sets on each player..How do I unlock the skills that are on the outside of the skill board ? I completed all others ,but it won't let me open the extra skills like 450+health..
u can respect as much as u want at montblanc
I saved one file after Belias + 8 hours of skeleton grinding before choosing the second job. Once I found the Seitengrat guide yesterday, I decided to quit my current game and load the save, so I could have more abilities for each character. I don't care, I like playing God mode.
Idk I prefer the original one. The license board is open to all characters
True. Problem was, it was also identical for every character.
Tbh I think the zodiac age license board is way better because of the decision you have to make. You have to analyze each character to see which class goes with which character and how they can utilize them.
I don't get peeps saying Identical, that isn't an issue because you have limited gambits, you make your "CLASS" with gambits...
Nick Moar or just play like me and just randomly choose Jobs for people because Basches' Katana animations are cool looking
I love the job system in zodiac age, it's reminiscent of Final Fantasy Tactics which is in the same realm.
i'm just playing this game for real now hehe wish they update the PS4 with the bonus features of switch.
The PS4 version allows you to switch your jobs any time as well.
This seems dumb. Why would people wanna skip the first quarter of the game by starting from the "master save". Seems like the answer to a problem that doesnt exist lol? Do people play FFXII over and over again in a row so much that they would want to skip the entire first quarter of it lol?
Your save says it is corrupted, may have to do with the update. Any way you could re-upload another?
Can anyone explain the actual process of getting 2 licenses, I understand I have e to get to this point in the game first but does it add a new license square to purchase first or does it just let you choose a second license tree as part of the story I'm unclear on that part
i dont know when it was added but you undo jobs by talking to the mog at the adventurers guild as of now
Dont know why everyone is defending the Directors decision to make jobs permanent.
I was able to change the job by talking to the head of the secret club. You just ask him to change your license and your able to
The steam version now allows u to change job by mountblanc.
Nowadays you can change jobs anytime on the steam version, but it wasn't the case a few years back.

Holy crap, the demon wall was the point where I almost gave up! It took me a while to figure out you could avoid it and come back to it later
ElegyForTheMasses should have done a little Dustia grinding, get an early Demon’s bane from the first wall.
I like new job system and committing to your choices. I made my choices by trying to commit my characters to certain weapons. pick your weapons then assign the job. peace.

I made it to the dreadnaut and the trash mob guards were so hard it caused much grief, thinking I'll pick jobs from the get go
Honestly, I'm with you on this, sir.
Also I think the official guide also gave the same piece of advice (as Fuzzfinger) but I think they say the start of the tomb
Also do the game up to here has been a bit by the numbers (which every FF games does up to a particular point so if I want to start again a save where x amount of the early game is gone would be great and then I could do a different combo.
Tactics is one of the greatest of series. You every played tactics 2 for the ds? If not try out the emulator.
actually i dont like the 2-job system, i prefer to choose a single job and stick with it. and you can equip every weapon and armor, BUT it wont be as effective or has negative effect if you're using a job not suitable for it
this is fine for new people but ive beaten th zodiac job system and know the jobs went through every job and even know what i like to do
Just Dustia farm to help with the difficulty increase without job selection.
Love your vids, awesome info!
first I'm torn on this idea as you already get a thought on what you want at least three of the characters should be so for an easier time I can see having those 3 leveling in their jobs as soon as you get them while holding off on the rest until later in the game, especially if you go through the trouble of getting the diamond armlet from the first challenge (I mean you can get it as soon as you make your first save, and I mean Van since you lose all items from Rek).
This is a great idea but creating the master save right before the tomb of Kings saves a lot of hassle with basically the same result.
hey dude, I loved this idea. this is my first time playing though ffxii and I must say this video was a God sent. I tweaked with the job system and found my ideal setup. it was totally different than what I had on mind originally, when introduced to the zodiac job system. thanks for your idea on the master save file.
also, it was comically easy to do, which took me by surprise too!
Yep, its worth it in the long run since you have the save to go back to at any time to try new things :)
People might label channels that has video(s) disabling likes/dislikes as untrustworthy source of information/content out of principle. That's why bigger channels don't do that, except for the most extreme of situations, regardless of the dislike ratios. Just something to keep in mind fuzz.
Shit I'd gave vaan knight and panello white mage. But I need to do the dustia leveling for later.
You can change jobs by talking to Montblac
Yeah, PS4 saves are locked unfortunately which is something I learned a while ago after I put this video out
I get the decisions on jobs I guess but I think they should all be open like in 14.
Thankfully you can redo your jobs in the xbox and switch versions!
seriourly i haven't had to use potions all that often my sources of healing have been just running back to save points and using cure when available i just haven't found to be needed as much as i thought i would when starting with your guide
l think the reason you cant change jobs was in an interview.
That bow is stupid op, with oil it hits like 4 mil or something like that.
Is this about seitengrat?
I never play zodiac age
I'm having issues with your save state, followed the instructions that were included. Ps4 doesn't recognize that there is a save file on the usb.
PS4 does NOT ALLOW for loading saves that were made on different user accounts. So you can't load other peoples saves anymore.
So where do you find hi-potions at this point in the game if you can?
clan hall little guy yellowish he resets your jobs .. ignore this bollox
oh still good idea to make master save file though ,,
I did this myself on my strong mode playthrough.
So do I have to use the first weapon for that long? I can’t equip anything else but the dagger for Vaan for example.
best jobs are :
Vaan : Knight /Machinist
Balthier: Whitemage /Shikari
Fran: Archer/ Redmage
Basch: Bushi / Timemage
Ashe : Monk/ Uhlan
Penelo: Foebreaker / Blackmage
Everybody gets the Espers for White Magick-license
Spent early on Max.TP+ because it stacks % for later
Meh not every character needs to heal some are built as tanks to deal massive damage your setup is fine for in game mode and stuff but in trial mode you may run into problems but hey you do you
I went with
Vaan knight/shikari
Fran time mage / foe breaker
Basch monk /uhlan
Ashe red battle mage / Archer
Penelo black mage / bushi
Balthier knight / white mage
Plus in the new switch and xbox release you can change your boards for the ultimate set up plus with your party comp I feel like your missing out on Ashe's mage cabilities.
this is terrible. the only master save you need (if you want) is at the beginning with 99 pheonix downs, but before farming dustia, so you have a choice. also i don't know why you bothered linking your master saves, you're the only one who can use them.
Wonder what his statement is now
Okay but how did you beat the demon wall?
quick question, is still 3 max party with a 4th reserved for a guest?
Yes.
Hi! Could you please share your Master Save file?
Vaan spear/dagger
Panalo monk/katana
Ashe white and black mage
Balthier red and time battle mage
Frann archer and monk
Bash time/ knight dark knight
That sucks dude, a healer mage combined with offensive mage means she's just not gonna put out the damage because she needs to constantly heal yo ass
"You cant change jobs after selecting one, i dont know why."
Because you should have to live with the decisions you make sometimes.
