I bet merle would never have thought in his younger years one of his heroes would be singing his song! Merles son Marty is actually named after Marty Robbins! Both class acts! None like em anymore.
I was writing a song for Marty...we had talked about it and he said he would record it after listening to it...I called to talk to him, Debbie answered and said he had had a heart attack...I was shocked, I ask her to keep me posted... she called me back the next morning and said,"He is gone..." I felt like I lost the greatest and best friend I ever had.... I still feel that way after 35 years.
I hope we'll meet him on the other side😊. I Love Marty Robbins as if I was born during his early years though I was born in 2003, wayyyy too longgg after his dead😂. I could say Marty Robbins was a friendly man, he knew how to make people laugh and happy. He was unique in personality. Me too I feel like I've lost a great friend.
I’ve loved Marty Robbins music since the first day I heard it. I love all his songs! I enjoyed watching him race in NASCAR! I connect with him since we share the same first name! He had his heart attack on Dec. 2, my birthday! I’m 82 years old so I’ve been around for all his music! There will never be another voice like his! He’s the greatest as far as I’m concerned!
HE IS AMONG THE ALL TIME GREAT SINGERS,,HOW HE EVOKES THE LOVELY,POIGNANT,,SOMETIMES SAD,BUT RALLY HITS THE HEART,,,HE HAD SO MUCH TO GIVE,,,THANK GOD THE WORLD HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH THIS LOVELY MAN,,THANKS MARTY,,,YOU ARE IN THE TOP FIVE OF ALL TIME.TO ME.
Thank to share your wonderful song love you no one own Me i love you we wait what happend no one push me where i go for living this is my life i go where to be happy bless you i am stil with you no one own at all amen
And that, folks, is the real country music that a lot of the public only consider to be what Taylor Swift and the other fake country singers throw out with western outfits and call it country. You don't need all the bells and whistles to be this good if your are this good to begin with. Miss you, Marty.
The one and only Martin David Robinson. Marty was named the Country Music Entertainer for the entire decade of the 1970's. His contributions from the 50' and 60's probably were instrumental in the decision.
I think they gave him the performer of the 60's. Check Keith Urban performing Marty songs at the George Strait entertainer of the decade show. George seems like a nice guy but is no where near the talent that Marty was/is.
He has a great voice but nothing in common with Marty's voice. Author sings in a monotone to me, where Marty has a much better range than Him and puts way more feeling in a song. I repeat this is My opinion.
It’s evident that the steel guitar is too loud for him, by his turning and facial expressions……nevertheless, a voice in a million, and delivered with feeling…..superb.
Sorry for the English speakers but my English is not good enough to comment in your language.
You not only hear a song when Marty sings it, you also feel it.

Le timbre de sa voix. ....

The Hag wrote this song with the intentions of Marty recording it, it was inspired by Begging to You, But of course the Hag recorded it before Marty.

I seen him in al.i was 14 ft from him own stage..he look right at me a lot.
Merle's response to Begging to You. He wrote it for Marty but recorded it himself first.

This was really country music.
Geweldige zanger
Hi this is Ron Burgundy and this is I started loving you again
What a great singer, but I wish he had done the complete version of this one. I still like Merle Haggard's version better.
I advise every one, listening to the album: The Countryside of Arthur Prysock ! Then, All comments will be (I'm sure) obsolete.
He has a great voice but nothing in common with Marty's voice. Author sings in a monotone to me, where Marty has a much better range than Him and puts way more feeling in a song. I repeat this is My opinion.
Waylong jennings
