    Mark just received my knobster today and found this video shortly thereafter that really explained in detail what this baby is capable of. Thank you!!!

    Thank you so much for this video. I just bought the knobster and have no idea how to get started. Your video answered many questions I had. I thought you needed a touchscreen monitor to make use of the knobster. I also didn't know about Knob XP.

    My Knobster just showed up today and I bought it based on your video. Thankfully I am divorced, so I could justify it without worry of a dough roller doh-pop because of the expense. I am so proud of it, I punched out "The Knobster" on my rotary label maker and stuck it close by the installment zone on the desk. After flying an approach last night at KATL, I took my blood pressure on landing and figured it was time. Another note, Mark, be sure to check out the new Hot Start Challenger CL650. Another price tag stroke-enabler but I think you'll love it and it's worth it. Probably the best X-Plane project to date. So consider that a nice payback. If you and I were neighbors, we'd be buds I think, so if you make it near Chattanooga, look me up. I'll buy you lunch and we'll have a chatty-do about the hobby. Thanks for the videos.

      Congrats Todd. I hope you enjoy this little gadget as much as I do. I wouldn't leave the ground without it! Thanks for the tip on the jet. I'll give it some consideration. BTW, I'm from Knoxville (but moved away a good while ago) so we're practically neighbors.

      @@markfletcher4579 I have spent some time with it (The Knobster) and honestly I am amazed how it makes using anything knob related in the sim a pleasant experience. Amazing as well, how the little thing promotes muscle memory in action. In my opinion, it's probably the most important hardware add-on on top of everything else I have tried over the years. Not sure if you have ever looked into XKeys Mark, but if not, I would for push button actions. They both go hand-in-hand like peas and carrots and sits on the desk modestly. You and I seem to have the same design approach to our desktop set ups so I'm out here if you ever want to have a chatty-do and bounce some ideas back and forth.

    Question for ya Mark. The Knobster from other videos looks to work with Air Manager and VR. I used to use Air Manager but found to turn knobs a bit challenging. Besides my IPad I gave to my wife because hers quit. Your video looks as though Air Manager nor VR was not used. If thats the case its worth looking into especially for the use of MSFS. I don't know why Microsoft makes it so difficult to turn knobs. So hardware is the same for X-plane and MSFS? Just needs different plugins? And X-Force PC is great.
    Thanks Craig

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  Рік тому

      Correct. I use neither Air Manager or VR. The knobster now works well with MSFS. You just need the KnobFS driver which is free. All hardware works fine for either Sim. I agree, turning knobs with that mouse is absurd.

    Hi Mark, this is just explanation I have been looking for. Well done.
    I now understand the three ways to select a Knobster Mode.
    Could you tell me this: could it also be possible to select a Knobster mode by ‘touching’ an on-screen panel knob (with mouse/trackball), and then using the Knobster?
    Or is this what Airmanager is for?

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  2 роки тому

      Howdy Young Fella! You are correct, the behavior you describe is Airmanager. KnobXP only works with the menu app. Good question though. There would be no purpose for AM otherwise.

      @@markfletcher4579 Mark, can't seem to find the Knob functions for next and prev in the msfs controller setup. Could this be because X-Plane has a plug in for this, and msfs does not? Thanks, Bill

    • @markfletcher4579
      @markfletcher4579  Рік тому

      Bill, I'm not an FS user so I can only speculate. I would think FS would register Knobster in some similar way as XP allowing you to assign these mode buttons. That's a pretty important part of the system so I'd be surprised if that is omitted. Is there any documentation or help files etc? Russ Barlow wrote KnobXP and I assume he wrote the one for FS as well. You might want to try and contact him. Sorry I can't help you more.
