I have a 2017 Toyota Corolla LE with connect with entune audio Plus, but since the car was delivered to my house , they never thought to set up the entune audio Plus system, my question is what can I do can you text me back 🔙 preciate it.
I can't understand why Toyota puts so much (cool and awesome) technology in their cars and then chooses Scout as the GPS for their platform! Scout is so behind current GPS technology!

Very disappointed with the Toyota Entune l Scout GPS Link. Thought I was getting the full Entune Advanced HD on me new Special Addition Camry 2016 like I had on my old 2012 SE... These cars really should come standard with that feature!! Ver very bummed!!

So how do you adjust the volume of the guidance? The lady sounds like she is talking through a sock and not very loud. Like Justin Suter I was disappointed to find that I did not have built in guidance, just an iphone app. And I know of others who are even more disappointed.
Would be great if it worked. 2017 Highlander Navigation stopped working after less than 2 years and still not working after 2 visits to dealer and call to Toyota USA. Hoped to keep this car for a long time. Owned 5 Toyotas. Now thinking about trade in options. Will likely look elsewhere next time.
Entune may herald the downfall of Toyota. The inability to connect a smartphone directly to a car's display system is an abomination. Additionally, the various grades of the app (Plus, Premium) are not often explained fully by Toyota sales staff.

I was completely misled by the salesman. Scout is ridiculous. The screen shows the map of over 30 miles. You can not find a street name or anything else when you are lost. It give bad directions. Very difficult to use if you are on the highway. Even with a passenger operating it. Youhave to pull over. I wanted navigation that would give me directions inspite of a call. The only good point is the ability to have it repeat itself. It gave me the street name for a major exit as "unknown name"
Is it avaible for inner Japan market cars? For Prius ZVW51 especially :-)

Why can't we see a map of where we're going???? Once we enter a destination all we get are text directions? I don't understand. Entune navigation shows you a map at the beginning. So we know it can show maps. Why resort to strictly text directions.
Jan Edling seems like another data digger. like I told the other guy, the entire world runs on Google or Bing, and it comes preloaded with Drive (or whatever it is). I think the project manager must have had some bad chili that day they signed off on it. basically h.u.h.a.

This navigation system is an insult to auto buyers.When I used my garnin my wife would input into the GPS while we were traveling.--Now I must stop the car to input--This is a real rip-off. Buy another brand of car. I like to make my own decisions regarding safety, I don't need a auto company making the decision.
I really wish it just had a normal navigation system like the older cars used to have… I don’t want it to be using my already very limited data every single month😢😢 I don’t mind using CarPlay but I also don’t want to constantly have my phone connected..

This horrendous app for navigation (what a joke) was the deciding factor in me not buying a new 4Runner. I went with a Mazda CX-9 instead. I can’t believe how terrible this navigation system is. I highly suggest trying it before you buy!

Okay, my mother just upgraded from a 2006 Toyota Sienna Limited to a 2017 Toyota Sienna XLE and her old Toyota had built in navigation and now her new more expensive car needs this? Wow. I should have bought her a car myself. smh.
Nav systems were available in 2017, too. But they're optional, not standard.

I have spent all morning trying to get this crap installed. It's amazing. You can't just download and install, it is no where near that easy. And now I hear, the phone can't move when it is being used for GPS. I heard this from another video.
I havent been able to install scout on my highlander... entune don't display the icon. I already set up those apps on my phone.

The 2021 Hyundai Venue has a better user interface for the driver. Simple setup with Bluetooth, no additional necessary requirements.

I don't know why Toyota uses the scout system. It is inferior in performance compared to android auto or apple CarPlay.
The ScoutGPS will not show up in my 2020 Tacoma with EnTune 3.0. Apple CarPlay doesn’t work either. Dealer can’t figure it out. Total garbage.
As a master sales reps with cs background. From factory and buyer point. This apps. are missing the last screen showing map with your location and the target like WAZE ... need the update Apps A.S.A.P.

Scout GPS Link should be able to update it with the one more page just to show the map on the background ! TOYOTA should not accept the APPs with uncompleted function !!

If you plug your phone in via the USB cable the map will display while using the GPS Scout application. I'm only offering this as a suggestion of a "work around" not as a defense to this system.
Had the same thing happen on a highway with 3 exits coming up. Exit at unnamed street. I'm in chicago, a major city. I spent 40k on a car and have to buy another gps. I was told I had one in this car. I don't consider scout a GPS system. I would recomend someone to buy a Honda at this point.

Apple CarPlay was so much better, had access to a whole lot more apps than now. Entune 3.0 with just scout for navigation leaves a lot to be desired. Give us back what we had or something so much better than even CarPlay. It's supposed to be an upgrade not a downgrade!

Really need to update this. Scout GPS Link app is completely different here in 2022. Nothing in this video makes any sense.

Agree! I can understand the holdout on car play and android auto if they don't want to lose money to royalties, but this breaks a good system. Entune with built in nav in a 2013 Rav is superior to this. Just give the same system in the prius and I would buy it. This is a joke.
Jenbug0421 and Carl Bird - YOU ARE BOTH INCORRECT. Jenbug0421 you CAN buy the V6 on 2018 Camry with integrated dynamic embedded real navigation. It is the ONLY Camry you can order that on. Carl Bird you are also WRONG. You can order the 2018 Prius with the built-in embedded dynamic integrated navigation. Start with the words from Toyota that if the sticker says "CONNECTED" navigation that you RUN not walk away and DO NOT BUY. Any other word and you have the real thing. THIS is why I feel there is a CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST TOYOTA. That we Americans are presented purposely confusing terms just so that no one knows what they can or can not get on their car. Let me point out again that (1) Apple CarPlay is a TOTAL JOKE with maps no one can use and no one has ever given a good rating to. It is unusable for navigation. and that (2) Google Maps is Android Auto and that that too requires that the phone stay connected to the USB port which ruins the battery on your cell phone and that it QUITS WORKING FREEZES-UP and locks-up whenever you go through a data dead zone from your carrier and that ALL CARRIERS have DATA DEAD ZONES. In ADDITION, CarPlay and Auto neither show-up on anything but the infotainment center display WAY OVER BY THE PASSENGER. Neither Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto integrate with the head up display nor with the display of either 4.2 inch nor the 7 inch display between the speedometer and tachometer. You guys can BOTH buy exactly what you want. If you think I am wrong - you are just not getting it. I have bought 14 of these vehicles myself and I have completely studied the owner's manuals for 2018. I know. You are BOTH WRONG.

This app is the worst part of my 2019 Corolla, there's no map and the app doesn't work well with my pixel XL 2, lots of errors. Please just use Android or waze or something else.

I am really disappointed in Scout. It's not that great. Having to launch the app EVERY time you turn on the vehicle is a nuisance. I mostly just use Google Maps especially because there's no real way to send instructions from something like a text message/web site/etc. on the phone to the vehicle. Scout also is fairly inaccurate and I really dislike the layout. Unlike Google Maps, Apple Maps, or other navigation apps that come in other vehicles, there is no way to see a 3D view of the directions which I really like for knowing when my destination is coming up soon. Scout needs to be updated to do this or you guys need to get a whole new system that doesn't use this limited system.

This app is the worst. The first few times I used it it showed me the map layout. Sometimes it would take too long to load because my phone runs out of data, which I can tolerate...sometimes. Now it strictly only shows me the text directions. I get lost so many times in other states because of this.
Scout GPS Link is all 2018 Camry owners can get on forty
thousand dollar car supposedly bragging on its telematics if you do not want to
buy 6 cylinder. That is the only NAV
which works with Entune 3.0. Entune 3.0
does NOT support Android Auto, Google Maps, Waze, Google Play Music, Amazon
Music, nor Apple CarPlay. It is a dirty
little secret about the 2018 Camry that no one but we owners ever brings
up. Everyone fluffs over this. It is HUGE. Entune comes bundled with Scout for GPS
navigation. Scout is not nearly as capable as either Google Maps or Waze.
Initial routes take a long time then rerouting because of traffic or a missed
turn frequently fails. Also, the U.S. version of Scout GPS Link doesn't support
Canadian maps. The biggest problem is
that Scout GPS Link loses connection to the 2018 Camry requiring drivers to
pull over and reenter the destination repeatedly to arrive onsite. It’s awful.
You can NOT use the navigation
on a forty thousand dollar 2018 Camry 4 cylinder nor 2018 Camry Hybrid. How sad is that that we have to band together
as owners to try to tell Toyota that only to have it fall on deaf ears ? Toyota requires me to load and run two (2)
apps Entune 3.0 AND Scout GPS Link to have NAV on 2018 Camry without 6
cylinders yet no one really tells anyone that.
How can you talk about the car and leave that out ? Load 2 apps ask directions and it sends me
across a creek in an open field to get to the destination or quits midstream reenter
it and still can’t get us to the location.

with these GLARING whiffs in technology 2018 model year is BEYOND me. Both are a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Both are kicking Detroit’s ass with these
telematics and Accord leaves off the bird’s eye view camera while Camry leaves
off ANY embedded NAV unless you ONLY buy a 6 cylinder. FOOLS.
Apple CarPlay is TOTALLY unusable as navigation on SEVERAL
LEVELS. (1) Apple CarPlay maps are an
utter joke and completely unusable on a daily basis. I downloaded their maps
and no one could possibly use them. (2) Apple CarPlay requires my data connection
to be up the entire time I am trying to use Apple CarPlay whereas here in
Atlanta every carrier has data dead zones meaning Apple CarPlay or ANY OTHER
app running on a cell phone would lock-up freeze quit working and require me to
reenter my destination every time Apple CarPlay lost connection to my cellular
carrier data plan. Apple CarPlay is a
huge data user which is why you must connect to your USB port because there is
so much data that Bluetooth can not handle all the data Apple CarPlay uses. This app scored one star 1. Go read the reviews. Quit with the LIES about this Honda Accord
2018. In order to restart Apple CarPlay
Honda Accord 2018 requires you STOP pull over to the side and make the wheels
quit moving and you will be doing that CONSTANTLY. Honda Accord 2018 has a great NAVIGATION
program built-in embedded but like all Honda Accord you have to buy the right
Accord the Touring with the head up display and NAVIGATION. Then when you get directions, you do NOT need
the data to stay connected and you do NOT need to look over way over by the
passenger to see CarPlay working ONLY on the display which is part of the
infotainment center. Embedded NAV on the
Honda Accord 2018 Turbo Touring with the 6 inch head up display lets you see on
the windscreen what Apple CarPlay can ONLY play over on the head unit display
by the passenger. This is EXACTLY where
you should NOT be looking while driving way over by the passenger on the
infotainment center display. You know
? That stupid silly-looking tablet
pop-up display like it was an afterthought - not an integral part of the design
of the dashboard of the 2018 Accord.

I have '14 Avalon LTD with Entune. The Bing app works fairly well to search by voice for specific things like any search engine. I like getting both contact info and destination info buttons to either call or navigate. The navigation built in POI has not been as useful to me. But my phones S Voice and GoogleNow seem much easier to use using simple, single line voice commands. I am sorry Toyota/Lexus have not integrated Android Auto. Entune has frequintly been unreliable and cumbersome. It has also been ery slow but perhaps newer models may have improved processing.
I understand Android Auto is now offering a stand alone app that is supposed to work in many displays that do not have it built in and will work oer Bluetooth on Android 5.0 and above! I am very interested!

they should say, you don't need THIS if you already have a integrated Navigation sysyem in your radio. This is for non premium emtune.

It's unfortunate, I love everything else about my car (corolla 2019). but the idea you have to use data for entune to function (mainly the scout gps) is totally asinine..
Entune and scout are such a big part of the driving experience that it craps on the car as a whole. Fix your software and send updates asap.

Just hooked up the Scout GPS link on my friend's 2018 Toyota Camry...Finally found the correct app on Google Play...Not very impressed with it ....Just has printed directions and voice ...No map..!!!!...She paid cash for this car last year and the dealer couldn't even hook up the Entune app for her.. toyota sucks big time...!!!!

This piece of garbage GPS scout is the reason I am not buying a Camry. I like the interior and exterior styling, but this is literal trash.
I replaced the factory big screen radio with a 100$ unit. Works so much better. Toyota should not be installing radios on their cars. Their gps is garbage.
Do not use this complexed broken system. Rely on your own old school old fashioned GPS from Tom Tom of Garmin or other brands. This way you keep the Info system (head display) clear to use for other purposes. Mount the GPS device on your windshield or dashboard. Trust this way it is the best way to go.
I was furious when I got my 2019 tundra and it doesn’t even have navigation. Absolutely bs for such an expensive truck. My wife’s 2011 Toyota has full nav. Why Toyota. Why. Fools.

First, I shouldn’t have to install this app. It should already be installed.
Second, this installation does not work. I’ve wasted hours trying to load this app. It keeps telling me my phone is not paired when it is. Terrible app.

This video is putting me to sleep. I hate this app. I just want to see my location in a map while I drive. I don’t see how this app allows it.
