We are continuing to work on Chapter 3! The Chapter got playable from beginning to end. After some restructuring and reshuffling of different parts, it's feeling quite good to go through. Can't say it's finished yet, but the unfinished parts are certainly seeming less and less numerous. That's good because try as I might to sleep, until the game is finished, I'll see nothing but nightmares...
Earlier, we were considering having a stealth-focused section in the game where you would slowly, slowly sneak around certain areas.
After developing some concepts, we realized a mechanic which basically just makes you move slower isn't necessarily fun.
So, we didn't do that...

I feel as if a reason that Lost Girl would’ve been used is maybe Kris had to sneak around like that to avoid Dess’s whiffle bat.

Honestly I hope he changed his mind or wasn't telling the truth, I feel like doing so would make most of Noelle's tracks much less unique and interesting. As a Noelle fan, if she doesn't come back I think we're better off not hearing her song ever again
@@reinefurnaceIIIexactly. This specific motif / tune has a feeling of uncertainty with a hint of innocence, perfect for Noelle (or even Dess’) character. If it becomes just another motif in random spots, it’ll lose its meaning

I'm fine with him not making it Noelle's theme; it's his creative decision and he will figure out what to do with it. I'd be glad if he ignored the community on this one- the motif here fits way too well.
Surprisingly to a sneaking theme it’s surprisingly very catchy and the leitmotifs to other songs definitely makes a perfect connection. But when it comes to Toby even the shortest songs can be bangers.

The weird thing is that the sprite shown to represent this scrapped section only shows Kris, Susie and Ralsei, which implies Noelle isn’t in this sequence.
All sourtes of good vibes coming from this song, i just imagine Kris, Susie and Ralsei trying to reach the fountain without being notice by Tenna!

The lost girl letmotif here possibly implies every new main light person trapped in the darkworld would probably have this letmotif! The heartache letmotif in the start of the song implies were trying to get to Toriel in a sneaky fashion :V
Man as much of a shame for us it is to have this banger go unused, you gotta imagine it's like pulling teeth for Toby.
The fact it's an unused song and it has lost girl in it which related to a lost character says alot about gaster

Ngl I wonder if the part at the beginning (Before the Lost Girl motif starts) may actually be the motif of the Chapter 3 main antagonist? It definitely has that sleazy gameshow host vibe going for it.
Everyone saying that this is connected to noelle in some way but in my opinion toby fox realized that these lemotifs could work well for a sneaking theme I mean this is not the first time we see a theme that has an important lemotif related to a mysterious character

it just seems a little weird for this to be the 4th chapter, considering what weve seen are light world segments and we know that chapter 3 songs are mostly jazzy sounding
...Huh. Rudy said he'd go to church "tomorrow", right? And it seemed like the morning version of the hometown theme might play after the chapter 3 fountain is sealed, seeing as Kris creates it in the middle of the night. I'd suspected the chapter 4 Dark World might take place in the church, later during the day thanks to the Knight. Wonder if there is a connection to the Holiday family after all.
