I drove one of these in Army for 2 years. They were a blast! We'd go through water and mud that was above the bottom of the doors, never did get stuck. The Detroit engines were a bit under powered but they got the job done. Good times!
It is striking how in Germany there are companies that produce both these models, as well as model scale trains, mini boilers and accessories. In general, they are medium-sized companies where despite high production costs, they are always say We are here!. I don't know if in the US the companies thinks like this or ... it is more easier to produce in China?
These Hemtt rc's run about $600 and up, if you get the DIY kit. The RTR truck is like $750, and its trailer, the nice trailer, is about the same cost. I must have one.
