Ok first of all, how did I NOT know you had a patreon!!?? Second I love your naming of the series, perfect. Laughed hysterically at your word bloopers haha. I'm very excited to see what you come up with. I've said it before and I'll say it again you've built so many different types of rigs (built remodeled etc) that your ideas are going to be so cool. Like I don't feel well get the same ole same ole "high bed in back, garage under, bathroom left, shower right, kitchen left, sofa right" build here and I'm so excited I can't even put it into words! Especially not before coffee
Aloha, came on over from LEAW, Sarah & Luca. I have been a bus driver for 18 yrs. 2 in Boston where I got my CDL and 16 on Maui. When everybody’s talking about what they miss most during this pandemic, they mention social gatherings, eating out, but me.... my bus!!! I am so looking forward to your videos! Mahalo 🥰
I had a 35 foot bus, today I have a 16 foot Tiger. The larger the RV the fewer places you can go, the more it will cost, and the harder your life will be. Usable space? I have more now.
I think there is an increase of interest in smaller buses and that has caused the prices to go up. More people can see themselves driving a more fancy boxy van (in the form of a short bus) rather than a large bus that can't navigate city streets. Short buses and Shuttle buses (which are even more van-like and city friendly) are a popular alternatives to usually more expensive standing height Van and by default also provide standing height.
Hi, After the years in Navi you know, what you really need and what you really want. The Shorty has less space but you will already have a divine plan and I have no doubt that you will do a perfect job! A big ball pit, an indoor pool or a mobile observatory....it's your bus, only you have to love it. 🤪
Finally your getting to your new short bus conversion! I did like your last project with Steve, Luke and Jimmy that you recently part took in, but I’ve been waiting patiently to see what your going to do with the new conversion.....
Great info! Can't wait to see the build come to fruition. Will have the Coffee talk to you soon! Polishing it today. Hope to see you sooner than later!!
Before this video: Short bus. After this video: Short bus. I'm just a single disabled gal who will be traveling solo with perhaps two cats and maybe a service dog. I'll probably lose a bit of square footage because I need a wheelchair lift or ramp. and even though there's places where you can't drive a big bus, there's also places that don't allow short buses. A lot of RV parks and other places don't allow buses at all and some don't allow short buses. But overall I decided on the short bus because it's just me plus I don't want to drive a behemoth of a vehicle as in a large bus.
@@mobilehomelife4028 I do plan to start putting out videos when I get my bus, but that probably won't be for some time. But just the same, I'm looking forward to it!

The struggle is real trying to decide what size bus to get, bought a bus, then decided to stay put for a 2yr contract, sold bus, now really miss being on the road, seeing new places, meeting new people. Seeing so many smaller busses at the Macon GA class has peaked my interest and confirmed my love of tiny spaces, just trying to swallow not being able to take all the grandkids at one time, currently at 15 with one on the way and 2 kids have not started yet.....struggle is real
great video comparing the two types of buses. looking forward to watching the build. i got to see Navi a couple of years ago at the NC tiny house festival. nice build
Great content, Mike. I didn't realize the difference in tires. That's my big takeaway! PS: You know I could fit four in a short bus, but maybe not full time😉 Keep up the great work.
Im looking for short bus right now from a dealership price range of $10,000- $13,000 but it is tough to find a short bus diesel. I think the old ones are easy to find diesel but the ones im looking at is 2015 and newer under full dealer warranty and i think the newer short buses are limited as diesel and mostly made as 6.0 v8- 7.3 v10 gas engine. I really want warranty for the flawless body electrical and mechanical condition and not worry about having to fix anything just knowing if anything goes wrong all cost will be covered by the dealership.
I plan on getting a big bus regardless, but it was cool to see this video. I am planning to build a designated music studio in my bus, ergo the larger floor plan would be necessary.
I am just one small woman who would use the bus. I would choose a small/short bus. Also, I don't want to lug around a big bus. I think you have to have priorities. I look at the layout of an RV van with a full bath, and I think that if I put in a single rear bed, not elevated like you often see in rv vans. A single futon, in fact so I can have a decent-sized bathroom and shower. I don't need much kitchen space/cabinet area because I don't do much cooking so a microwave alone would do. A small table and chair area for one person closer to the front would do. I would use it to drive to dog obedience trials and not have to stay in a motel!
Good advice to new builders! I'd also point out the diminished real estate on the roof for solar panels. If you're looking for a large array, short bus might not have enough space.
you need more subscribers. your videos are amazing and you put a lot of very useful info in and I've learned so much just watching your videos. so thank you! you got one new sub :)

My OCD was going off. I was wondering if there was a deeper meaning until I read Mike's comment about it further up. Nope, just needs a battery... like 2 years ago.... lol
My friend built a small bus like this one but he manufactured a pop out for the kitchen area it’s really tight when it’s closed when you park and open it up it goes out about 18” on both sides makes it look huge when you’re on the inside
Currently building, about 3 weeks ahead of the posting. Unfortunately, it’s been slow going getting parts and supplies. But, everything is still moving forward!
I have had two blow outs on my bus and I didn’t seem to have any problems. The one time the retread unglued. I could see in a rv how the wood/fiberglass body would get destroyed with a retread. But, the metal wheel wells of the bus are pretty darn strong.
I have yet to see a bus without retreads on the rear, even those transporting children. The steel wheel wells also have some extra plating just for that reason as well. Remember also that you won’t even come close to the gross vehicles weight in your rebuild.
I can't WAIT to see how this bus turns out!

I wonder how many people noticed that the clock is stuck at 6 o’clock and 14 seconds
I wonder myself.... Let’s see how many people realize it’s 2 o’clock in the next episode.
Have you built out your small bus yet.?
Currently building, about 3 weeks ahead of the posting. Unfortunately, it’s been slow going getting parts and supplies. But, everything is still moving forward!
I just want a short bus cause I’m not trying to drive a big ass bus
...because at the end of the day...
The clock is dead. The clock is dead. The clock is dead. The clock is.....oh, you are saying things. HA! ;)
Crap. I thought i was the only clock comment. Disregard my joke.
I will choose a long bus. I need room for dog crates and a monkey cage
Never never never put recaps on your bus!! If that recap comes off it could destroy the wheel well!
6.0 is worst engine ever this guy has screwed up
Just say that a short bus is all around cheaper...
That would be no fun and the video isn’t about which is cheaper, rather which to buy. Haha thanks for watching though.
You severely overpaid for your short bus at the states price of $45,000 🤣
My little bus ? I got it for $2,500. If your paying 45k it better be a finished bus haha.
Your clock is dead!!!
It not dead, the clock just really likes 6 o’clock.
Well you're as handsome as you are handy...and you're very handy ;)
