Exactly. Intelligence varies. I've had two occasions where I'm doing prep, something changed or is new and I pause for a sec to assess, get back to it, and regulars who have EXTREMELY successful businesses and they're super smart just look at me and say "okay, I would have made a COMPLETE mess of that trying to do it differently." Different smarts and skills in different people and professions.

I have always been told that as a doctor I would be taking care of people at the hardest times of their lives. This means that it is expected for us to be screamed at and insulted by patients and their families. Doctors are taught to be empathetic and to "forgive" them and treat them the same way. Sure, not all Drs are always smiling and cheerful and patient but in my experience, not all baristas or other service workers are either. In any case, I just wanted to say that I don't think Doctors or Baristas are all that different in that they face difficult people every day and still try to provide the best customer service they can.
You also spoke of baristas being good at working with others in a fast paced environment and to be honest, Doctors are similar in that aspect too. There is constantly an emergency situation happening where you need multiple people of different specialties to communicate and coordinate to get things done as fast as possible. Doctors are always communicating what they are doing to everyone else and documenting all their work.

As one famous person said, you shouldn't judge a book by the cover

    Vertex: 0,3

I don't think anyone could read my facial expressions that quickly after meeting me, l have a resting sad face and my face doesn't always match my emotions, it's very annoying for me bc some people mainly tell emotions by facial expressions alone and they can completely misunderstand how I'm feeling, I have gotten decent at hiding it though, I sadly can't stop a smile even if it's not appropriate for the situation, but my eyes are expressive enough and I can usually find a casual way to cover my mouth so it doesn't seem like I'm happy someone's dog died.

I want to thank you very much for your comprehensive and intellectually intriguing take. It's without question I was glad to share your stuff with my peers. Because for we service working folk, this gratification and solidarity is more welcome than most assume. I personally feel that in light of unionization drives in the difficulties of the societal challenge of covid that such deep rifts were invisibly formed between the worker, the companies and the customers of which the fabric of the American workplace reality is being seriously questioned, the lack of crack-down corporate mergers and greedflation pricing that is untenable as an economic model. Something's gotta give and I fear it's electoral momentum that's taking a hit, as party falls behind solidarity worker liberation movements in the US. Consumers and the backbone of industry are fed up that just a few supply chain shocks is enough for unilateral executive orders from the top down, not fair regulation against the Howard Schultz union-busting types. The system is not resilient to geopolitical ripples like our problem siblings abroad. In my view the country hasn't been so bifurcated since the Civil wars leadup. This isn't your focus and I do apologize for losing the mark for a moment. This introspection is sorely missed here on YT. You've chosen the best city in the world to be a culinary and media specialist. I wish you all the best.

3:45 She's right. I have just recently learned how to read my own mother’s facial expressions, and I've known her my whole life.
