I don't know if anyone has told you this, but I really commend you for how much work you put in being so consistent. Like you post every single Sunday and Wednesday @ 11am (eastern time) on the dot without missing a bit while working full-time, being a plant and frog mom, and also maintaining all your other responsibilities. Girl, you're honestly so impressive; like I aspire! So, thank you so much for being so consistent and providing such amazing content! Also, I'm more of a thriller girly than a horror girly, however, a thriller that I really enjoyed that you might like is "Hidden Pictures" by Jason Rekulak. It has a mix of thriller as well as horror/supernatural aspects and as someone who doesn't really read horror, I really enjoyed it. So glad you enjoyed al the books you read in this video, and congrats on the 5-star read! As much as I love thrillers it's rare for me to rate them 5-stars too.😂
Don't worry about sitting in the same spot! Your room is absolutely stunning, and as long as you're comfortable with where you are, that's what matters!
Don't worry about sitting in the same spot. I honeslty dont even notice. I'm just happy to hear you talk about books, heck I would watch even if you were in an empty room.
18-ish minutes in and seeing the shock on your face had me laughing out loud! Absolutely love your content! Hidden Pictures is a thriller but has some ghosty-horror vibes to it, I think it will be your kind of thriller-horror! 🥰
i’ve heard so many things about hidden pictures!! i think like 20+ people have recommended it now🤣 safe to say it’s been swiftly added to my wishlist hahaha
okay I have a bone to pick with you Ellen!!! I was on a book buying ban. I was doing SO well! and because of you little Miss... I just bought The Last Word! I.hope.you.are.happy!! hahaha Love your videos girl
I never knew what a reading vlog was until I started watching BookTube like a month ago but never actually watched one before. This was so fun and cozy and you've given me 3 new thrillers added to my ever growing TBR! 💜 xoxo Emma
Ugh The Last Word was SO GOOD. The end had me crying 😭 no other Thriller has affected me like that (and not in the way you may think). Definitely recommend.
Yes!! I had the worst day and now I see that you’ve posted, I’m so happy!!! You always seem to post on my worst days and just make them better, thank you so much ❤️❤️ I just love you and I always want to comment on your videos, and sometimes you even answered and you just make me really happy. Edit: Don't worry about sitting in the same spot, personally I really don't mind and i love the aestetic of your room! Edit Number 2: Don't worry about it being short!! One thing I love so much about your videos is that they're most times 30+ minutes and I rarely find that with other booktubers that I like, for some reason. And thirty minutes isn't short girly, it's wonderful!!
I actually love your videos so much. They are so down to earth! also even when you don’t like a book I loveeee you never make me feel weird or bad for liking said book. You just say it’s not your cup of tea! I LOVEEEE THAT :)
LOVED this vlog! So excited to check those books out. I love thrillers/horror too 🖤 I could literally sit here and watch you talk all day every day. Wish I could gush back to you lol
I am already over summer books and onto mystery, fantasy, thriller, and horror. Reminder: Place holds on Libby for those popular scary books. The waits are going to be crazy when it comes to August. Place the hold now, it'll say an 8, several weeks wait, but you may get them early.
I have just taken out The Only One Left from the library! Can't wait to read it after hearing your thoughts 🎉 I've added The Last Word to my tbr. I think you may like One by One by Chris Carter. It follows Robert hunter who solves murders and gets a phone call to go on a website to vote how someone dies. It is part of a series (book 5) but I read it as a standalone as rvery book seems to be 1 case. It is very gruesome and thrilling and tense. Pov of Robert hunter and the killer and the victims but mainly Robert hunter. Your videos always feel cozy and I don't mind the filming in one spot, never felt boring or repetitive just added to the coziness 🤩, but I pove the different spots you used in your video today. Do what feels best for you! Love the ana luisa pieces, browsed their website a few times so this is probably a sign to buy some pieces!
The Last Word sounds so good! Have you read For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing? You might like that one. Tbh, I don't really notice your background, most of the time I watch youtube while cooking 😅
you would loveeee we have always lived in the castle and the haunting of hill house by shirley jackson if you haven’t already read them!!!! very supernatural, creepy, psychological kinda vibes
I notice when your background changes but I am not bothered either way - I watch to hear your thoughts, not to see what’s going on behind you (although I’d be down to see froggie content) 🥰
if you have not yet read it The Carrow Haunt by Darcy Coates was a very good paranormal style book that i loved. I also love the How to Hang a Witch duology which is about descendants of the Salem witch trials and it also has paranormal elements to it. it’s my favorite series personally
you have to try Darcy Coates for ghost/ haunted house horror! i’ve only read Gallows Hill (really enjoyed it), but have heard great things about a lot of her books!
I really liked lock every door, def thriller not horror…but I enjoyed it. Read it in one sitting 🤣. Alsoooo if you love super natural horror creepy house books and haven’t read “just like home” by Sarah Gailey” it gives all those vibes. Also anything by Rachel Harrison, she knows how to do creepy horror, super natural, monsters etc. if you haven’t read anything by her already!!
I am pretty sure you already read it since it’s a classic but the shining feels like a book you would love, and if you’d like to try something new, the Erika falk series by Camila Läckberg are my favorite mysteries in the whole book world
Hey Ellen! Great video! I will definitely be looking into The Last Word. I recently read The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James and it is the first book in a while that really gave me the creeps while I was reading it. The vibes were sooo good. Supernatural happenings and a creepy killer centered around an old forgotten roadside motel. 😳👻
Don’t worry about sitting in the same spot. We don’t mind and also don’t really notice lol. Toward the end you said you loved horror and wanted recommendations. One of my family members is a big thriller reader and decided to read ‘We Used to Live Here’ by Markus Kliewer - I would LOVE to see what you think since they said they so scared 😭 obvs you don’t have to. I’m actually currently reading it myself but we’ll seeeee ❤
If you like horror/thrillers I recommend hidden pictures by Jason rukulak🙂! I loved it and I’ve only ever seen people also love it! Edit: Just seen other people also recommending it too so I feel even more confident in my recommendation now🤣🤣
My dad still calls it a school night. He's in his fifties 🤣 also, horror/thriller recs: - The Shining by Stephen King - Misery by Stephen King (not ghosts or creepy house, but an absolutely fantastic thriller). - Turn of the Screw by Henry James [can likely download this as a pdf because of copyright running out as it's an OLD book - haunting of bly manor is based on this book, idk what the series is like though] - Phantom Lover/Oke of Okehurst by Vernon Lee (Violet Paglet) [also can download this one as a pdf] - The Whisper Man by Alex North
I haven't read The Last Word but I do have it. I did read No Exit and gave it 5 stars. I also have a few Riley Sager books but havent gotten to any of them yet. Im excited to read them though.
Ghosty stuff in book??? I got you girl. i read mostly stuff like that. My fav is the city by Camila Sten, Kinder od the samé vibe Is the stranded by Sarah Goodwin and you should try the hunting of the hill house by Shirley Jackson. Ísť a short book but so good.
I knew it!! I knew it was gonna be reading thriller when u were picking your tbr for the month..i’m sat. I’m seated…. 😂😂😂no we cannot tell u siting in the same spot but also we all readers we know the bed is the best place to read on
I *want* to read The Last Word and I tried listening to it on audiobook... but I ended up stopping because it scared me too much. It's very atmospheric and it's well done, I'm just too much of a baby. 😂
Off topic, but I just watched one of your older videos and learned you‘re into F1, which is such a rare crossover, it‘s so cool that I can now relate to two of your hobbies ❤ wasn‘t today‘s race and Hamiltons win so much fun? Love you
Want a freaky “horror” story? Mary Rose by Geoffrey Girard. I read this a few years back, and it lives rent free in my head. As a child Mary Rose went to an island with her father (over your way -ish lol), one people were warned to avoid. She went missing. It wasn’t a large island and there were search parties that scoured the island. Her father would go back to search. People thought he did something. One day she returned. Let’s just say, she was different. You get the story from her husband. Creeped me out!!
You’re a horror girlie too? Can we be best friends? 😂 The Taylor Adams creeps me out since an author did stalk a reviewer for leaving a one star review but having the thriller aspect intrigues me
I spotted your birth counter in the background of one of your clips. I didn’t know you were a student midwife!!! So am I!!! Did you end up qualifying? Do you work as a midwife now? Never seen another student midwife on booktube!!!
I don't know if anyone has told you this, but I really commend you for how much work you put in being so consistent. this means so so much, thank you🥹 it’s definitely super challenging at times but i ADORE it!!
Second this recommendation! Hidden Pictures had me baffled at the end 😱
hidden pictures is a 5 star read for me. i absolutely loved it but was a little scared some times lol
hidden pictures has anti-trans rhetoric it should’ve never been a goodreads winner
100 percent agree!! Your time, dedication and consistency are not taken for granted! 🩵
Don't worry about sitting in the same spot! Your room is absolutely stunning, and as long as you're comfortable with where you are, that's what matters!
Don't worry about sitting in the same spot. I honeslty dont even notice. I'm just happy to hear you talk about books, heck I would watch even if you were in an empty room.

it was amazing!!
Ugh The Last Word was SO GOOD. The end had me crying 😭 no other Thriller has affected me like that (and not in the way you may think). Definitely recommend.

The Chalk Man by CJ Tudor has great may or may not be supernatural vibes 🥰
I’m 53% into The Only One Left at the moment, I’m really enjoying it so far
I actually love your videos so much. They are so down to earth! also even when you don’t like a book I loveeee you never make me feel weird or bad for liking said book. You just say it’s not your cup of tea! I LOVEEEE THAT :)
Great vlog💕. You're inspiring to pick up more thrillers soon.
I’ve been struggling to find thriller recs! THANK YOU for everything you do you’re incredible ❤

The way I want to be like you when I grow up even though im an adult too 😂 you are amazing and so inspiring ❤
Because you like supernatural elements in the thriller, I'd highly recommend "The Eye Collector" - Sebastian Fitzek. It was a 5 star book for me!
YESSSS! so so so so excited
Same!!!
IM SO EXCITEDDD
If you like creepy houses and ghost vibes, check out Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney! it's exactly that vibe and it was also a really good read!
I didn't read any of the ones I'll recomend, but I heard great things: Mary; The eyes are the best part; My best friend's exorcism; A certain hunger.
I think horror wise you might really enjoy Darcy Coates books :)
*immediately listens to the last word by Taylor Adams on Everand*
hahahaha as you SHOULD!!
I am already over summer books and onto mystery, fantasy, thriller, and horror. Reminder: Place holds on Libby for those popular scary books. The waits are going to be crazy when it comes to August. Place the hold now, it'll say an 8, several weeks wait, but you may get them early.

It left me shook. It was GREAT!!!!!

I recently got some Riley sager ones on my tablet. Love freida mcfadden too. I'm a romance girl too. Well im 58 but I'm a girly girl at heart. ❤

I notice when your background changes but I am not bothered either way - I watch to hear your thoughts, not to see what’s going on behind you (although I’d be down to see froggie content) 🥰
I love your jellycats 😍 Also, I do notice if your background changes, but I dont mind the same spot!
Can you do a video on your fav horror books?
No Exit by Taylor Adams! :)

Excuse my random comment on an older video. Watching all your videos 😂
hahaha yes i did!! i qualified in 2022 and i’ve been working in clinical trials since🥰
Lock every door really made me mad. The plot twist was so... cheap in my opinion, but I know I am in the minority here.
oh no🥲🥲 maybe i need to do some more digging into reviews beacuse i bet that is so frustrating
