Thank you so much for this video! It was super helpsome for me and I got everything right. Noone else showed me how to activate keyframes within the timeline to see the time remapping keyframes. Thank you again, regards Bjorn.

Great video! You should have mentioned the massive bug that makes scale, position, and rotate key stop working if you add time remapping keyframes on the timeline. The only way around that is to NEST clips on which you have added time remapping keyframes.

Nice to see a real professional struggle with those daaaaaarn tiny, laggy, keyframe controls in Premiere, too 😂 I thought I was just too stupid to properly use them, but it seems they are unresponsive for everyone 🙈

The speed editing options in Premiere really are more than overdue for an update! The one thing that Avid Media Composer has been doing so much better since forever. Just copy that Adobe! Please? Ad a special purposed speed editing window that can be always open beside the Effect Control Panel (lust like a Lumetri panel) This would save so much time and frustration when having to make a lot of speedramps!

Good video. Is there a down side to using “speed” to slow a clip down rather than interpreting footage?

Great Topic to help us. If changing the speed etc contains an audio track, will the audio change speed?

Great Colin. Good tips and lesson. I was wondering about something. I am studying to become an Adobe Professional. Do you ever do any videos on that. It is a confusing process I'd say. Did you ever get and pro or expert certification. I live in NYC and I want to get a job someday editing. Do you think the adobe certification is a great thing to get. I know you daughter is a pro pro. I wonder what she thinks. I've heard some pros say they don't have and don't care to have it. I want to get it no matter but I was wondering what you think.

Can you also record in 60fps or 120 fps and slow down in premier and get the same results and smoother?

Hi Colin, I'm having a bit of a niche issue with speed in Premiere in a broadcast environment. I'm working on a show in the UK which we deliver at 50i, and the source footage is 50i. We are selecting "Always Deinterlace" in the Field Options for each clip on the timeline to achieve a more "cinematic" look for some moments in the show. However, I've noticed that when I have applied Time Remapping to any clip to achieve a speed ramp, the Field Options setting seems to be ignored and that clip ends up still looking 50i rather than 25p upon export.
I thought nesting may be a workaround, however Field Options is greyed out on Nests. Do you know why this might be happening, and if there are any workarounds? Appreciate it's an unusual setup.
    Many thanks!
