I am in the middle of editing chasing a deadline and I get this notification about your video. Can't help watching it NOW!! BTW I watch all UA-cam videos at 2x speed.
Great job, Colin, and this takes me back. Home Improvement with Tim Allen used to do a lot of transitions like this. At the studio where I worked, I was challenged to do something similar. So I filmed some test footage and then using the Grass Valley DPM 100's clone stamp tool, isolated some imagery from a freeze frame and pulled it off. It was fun to do and I'll definitely use an effect like this.
Colin, A while back I watched a video about using transitions and using the ones that are gpu friendly and so on. I searched buy can not find it. I need to watch it again so to understand how to use the best transitions without it jamming my mac.
At 7:10 you bring in the test.psd sequence to the timeline, when you scrub over it, the layers stagger in like the keyframes have already been adjusted. Why is this?
GREAT training video as usual from Colin -- THANKS very much,,

That was a fire video effect
Great creativity with simple tools! Clear example how to use 100% of your brain and 10% of GPU )) Congrats Colin!
This looks fun to use!
Thanks from Belgium Colin
Clever stuff. I can't wait to give this one a go. Thanks Colin!
Simple. Brilliant. Thanks for this.
Great effect - Def going to use this. Thanks so much Colin!

I've seen this effect of late, even right here in some of the adds in UA-cam. Not sure if it's something I'll use but still kind of cool.
Thanks
