- Stormy - The Opera was initially written and performed in the fall of 2019. We then added extra scenes portraying events around the pandemic for our digital premiere on October 3, 2020. We did not exactly foresee the events of January 6, 2021. Not exactly.
In this new edit, we ask the question, what if Trump had persuaded the American people that he did win the election? What if, with the support of a small but fanatical majority, he simply refused to leave the White House? If he remained POTUS?
"In a country ruled by a despot, stripped of all its precious liberties, only ancient burlesque queen, Miss Stormy, can save America."
Stormy - The Opera is a work in progress and always will be. It is a living notebook, reflecting on life under (arguably) the most divisive and corrupt President ever, who, as we speak, with the GOP, is plotting a triumphant comeback in 2024. It shares teasing glimpses of future fascism, and even socialism!
