I’m absolutely hooked on this vid - to see Araura (spelling? Sorry) be so bold (and getting bolder) makes me happy for her & u guys - she’ll go far . Luv.
Thanks Sam. She's a lot bigger than this now too!
What beautiful birds
Lovley to see you all enjoyed this and that Aurora met a kangaroo.
I loved this! Great video! Thank for sharing!
It’s a good shop.
Lucky we got out without spending
I really think that The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a hidden gem. Everyone seems to run off to the big theme parks and forgets about this little wonder. I have been a heap and it has never been super busy.
Totally agree Elle!!
It was a crocodile not an alligator. We only have crocs in aus. Sorry, the little girl was right. DAD!
You need to show her blinky bill the TV show!! It's Australian classic haha
Probably have to Google it
Local here, haven't been there for years but my kids loved it.
It's quite expensive but they do a lot of rescue work which costs money
As long as the money is going to good use, you never mind spending it on a good day out
My first visit (when it was called The Bird Sanctuary) was for my 1st Birthday in 1969. It has always been a wonderful place.
Wonder how many times you've been since?
@@ThatJohnstonLife more than I can count, lol
my parents still have photos of train that goes back to around 1970 LOL a long time ago .hope you all had a great time 😊
Oldie but a goodie
Head to NSW and go to Dubbo Western PLains zoo the kids will love it.
It's on the wish list!
BE TOLD DADDY it's a crocodile!! Sam is akin to a Kangaroo she has a joey in her pouch and l might add a cute baby bump peeking through now, hope you are all well. Thanks for sharing another fun day out.
I'm pretty sure the sign said alligator 🤔
Be wrong for once and call it a crocodile
@@cyclops92 : 😅 🐊
It's a good place & experience for Aurora! Yay!
She loved it. Thanks Cheryl
What a great way to spend the day. I often hit the zoos/wildlife centers/aquariums when I'm in Australia.
Aurora looked to be having a great time.
She loved it Kathleen
Omg in there with all those lorikeets looked crazy!
Hello Rob don't tell me you are thinking of following the Johnston's over to live here, always room for more in Oz and you get to pick your own weather.
@@charliew4823 let's see how a trip in September goes first 😉
Absolutely mental. That would make a good live Rob reacts with all those Lorikeets lol
I went 50 odd years ago when it was just the birds and the kangaroos.
The birds were still there probably
rainbow lorikeets
Better than a plover
Hello The Johnston family good to see you guys out and about 👍🌺🦋🌈 I hope to hear from you all soon 💖❤️😊😘Lots of love and hugs from Edith in cairns Top North Queensland.
You guys were having such a good fun day out . Lots of love and hugs from Edith . God Bless 🙏🏻
Hi Edith from Cairns we must follow the same channels 🙂
Thanks Edith!
Now that was the funny face I've ever saw. One little bird on the head and i thought mum was going to give birth there and then😊😊 It is a nice day out and it's a far better place than when we went there in 91.
Birds aren't her favourite lol
Lots of great animal sanctuary s in Australia all over the country.
Cheers Matthew
I was a southern hairy nosed wombat I went to that zoo it was a while ago
Loved watching this- definitely need to take my tribe there, looks like an awesome place! 👌
You should take them Sarah, they will love it!
That hat aurora was wearing is from Kmart
Aurora is certainly growing up. Thanks for another great video
Cheers Tracy
Fantastic 👍
Cheers 🐢
Much more extensive, and expensive, than when it was the old Currumbin Bird Sanctuary.
The two e words seem to be symbiotic
I love the zoos in Australia 🇦🇺 btw that hat 🎩 she was wearing I have
_Blinky Bill_ is a classic Australian children's novel about an anthropomorphic koala. It was published in 1933 and is extremely dated. Besides which, _The Magic Pudding_ was miles better.
Will have to look into it
Great video mate. Keep them coming. Update, I've managed to get the wife to go from never wanting to make the move to "we can go for 1 year". Progress is being made lol.
Great news Jason. It only takes a visit to change someone's mind
Your videos have been a massive help, so thank you mate
Mate your bloody lucky that it wasn't a wedge tail eagle that crapped on you, loved how daddy got told exactly what the reptile was very funny.
Surely getting eagle poo on you is lucky
Bumps looking good, the boy is cooking well. :D Another great video guys. Love from the Cravens back in the UK.......soon to be QLD.
Not long now
I lovecyou videos and to see how well you guys are settling in. Someday come to Adelaide, our best kept secret. Aurora is absolutely gorgeous
It's on the to do list Heather
Great video guys.
Yeah it costs a lot of money to run a zoo or wildlife sanctuary, we all know sometimes how expensive it is with just one pet,
I remember watching a show about the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) here in Australia and the presenter said they need $2000 a DAY just to keep the organisation operating across the country.
And there only income is as such The national body is funded in part by the Australian Government and relies on corporate sponsorship, fundraising events and voluntary donations for its income. Wow,... in part by the Government the rest is fundraising and donations.
Yeah, we don't mind spending the money if it goes to the right place
I used to visit there as a kid when we drove up north from Sydney each year. If you want to see some more native "birbs" have a look at my basic little YT channel.
Will take a look Jim
In a day or 2 you will have lots of little birdie claw scratches all over your arms .....worth every moment !! we normally book a stay at Bunya mountains, you have to go there
Could feel the little sting scratches in the shower lol
Hay I'm Sam from Perth Australia love your videos would love to see that Johnston life and the fam bamalam do a calab to compare your moving to Australia experiences
Your wish might come true one day!
You can even go there just to feed the birds, if you can not afford the Admission fee. I think it's a Gold coin donation.
Great info!
The difference between a zoo and animal sanctuary is the sanctuary take in care/ rehabilitate's and either releases or cares for the animals and a zoo buy and trade animals with other zoos.
Thanks for the info Rachel
Hi, your videos are great! Could you do a video on differences in working culture? I'm writing a paper on company cultures and wonder how an ambitious driven UK professional will be received in the average laid back Aussie office? Have they also brought in remote/hybrid working? TIA
We have nudist hump day which is Wednesday, the new office boy has to lay back whilst we play quoits, it’s great, you’ll love it
I think I already have one?
your daughter was correct, its a crocodile not an alligator, no gators in Australia!
Pretty sure you get gators in zoos. The sign said gator too, but I could still be wrong
G’day mate, do I detect an Aussie accent in your little girl?
She's totally Aussie that one
@@ThatJohnstonLife 👍😎
Did it cost extra money to pat or hold the koalas are the koalas even free?
I think the koalas have a cost. Kangaroos and lorikeets are a few dollars for food only
I think I am 2 x Red Kangaroos in weight
😄 🤣
