After a long and unintentional hiatus, I'm finally back! Hopefully. Tons of dumb life drama and general busy-ness kept me from uploading much of anything but I've got some of that squared away, so hoooooooopefully I can get back to Sound Profile and other YT things. Here's one of the things I've done while I was away though, hopefully I get a chance to upload the rest soon!!
Yes, the level design, the jumpscares, the atmosphere, it all helps. But in my opinion, this soundtrack makes the mod. I couldn't play it without this.
Dark Secrets has been stuck in my head thanks to being featured on levels in both E1 and E2 that I get stuck on finding the keys to. It oddly fits. Feels like the tune to a bad lullaby that I'm scared to doze off to.
OMG that gloomy, sinister atmosphere. Tribal Beat, Abandoned, Festival of Blood, Hopeless Cities, Demented Cult and Symphony for the Dead are instant classics. :-O
Indeed! Just on a very long hiatus from a ton of life issues, pointless drama, and being very, very busy with music work and the like. And apparently "don't die" and "don't get cabin fever" can be added to that too. Currently have some videos in the works now, though. I finished this a while back and it just got posted on ModDB a few days ago, and had a chance today to put the soundtrack up for listening. And it's 'she', by the way ^^ (kind of regret not making an update video on where I've been, now...)
This is a really good soundtrack, quite ominous and ethereal. It it fits Blood and Death Wish very well and adds so much to the feeling you get while playing it, but it can also stand on its own. I don't know how to describe them, but the "muffled" clanging/beating sounds that quietly come in at 19:20 and 20:05 are my favourite thing in all of these tracks. When I hear those I just get the feeling of an unsure and dangerous night, and i love that. Absolutely great work, thanks for making all this music.
I keep coming back to this after finishing a replay of BDW a few months ago. I really can't overstate my love of this soundtrack. It nails everything about Blood and takes it further. My favourite track would be "Abandoned". I couldn't describe it as anything less than simply beautiful.
I like how Abandoned is used for a lot of those "redux" levels where you return to an area you've already been to, but it's been covered in snow, or had some other environmental alteration. It works super well for that sort of atmosphere.
Unholy Cabal is perfect theme for this cult. I'm picturing a Blood movie that starts with cultists gathering to do some unholy sacrifices and taking down Caleb and his friends. Amazing ost
14:47 Festival of Blood (DW7.MID) I had heard that sound also here (Silent hill 2) ua-cam.com/video/JtSkhArwIDg/v-deo.html What's the source or name of it?
Great OST! This along with the mod should officially be added as the next episodes for the official release of Blood FS. If you would like to know how to play the midi versions of these songs in Blood Fresh Supply. You need to make a new RFF with the old 'Barf.exe' utility that came with the old DOS blood. mount it in DOSBOX or something and run it as 'Barf dwmusic.rff -a *.mid' This will create a new rff. put that in the Death Wish addon folder and Fresh Supply will automatically load it! of course you will have to change the dw.ini to reflect the new filenames too. if you want to play it in DOS blood you have to add them in souuds.rff but why would you want to play it there? :)
Thanks for the RFF tips!! I actually wanted to include a BAT that would automate the process of loading the files into the RFF, but unfortunately BARF isn't intended for free redistribution and I didn't want to distribute tools I didn't own, or require the user to hunt down an old deprecated program. Hopefully this helps the people interested in that ^^
@@Doorhenge Oh does that work in Fresh Supply? I know in DOS Blood it won't read from anything that isn't SOUNDS.RFF - interesting... I'll play with that later then
Good versions, and a good update compared to the MIDI version. Kind of want the FLACs/WAVs of these songs. (Not sure if I ever said this) Remember the steel keg sound from DKC 1 and 2, and how it was hard to find?. Well, it was found, sometime ago, and it was an overlayed sound, which made the search more difficult. The base sound comes from the E-Mu E-Max I, while the pickaxe-like sound that you hear at the beginning of the steel keg comes from the Roland L-CDP-01. Sample 43, Nailfile 1 respectively. www.dropbox.com/sh/g70cosiqz1tsjkp/AADIUN8LrZihuBPREMUDUyoga/Remasters%20%26%20Origins/DKC1/Drums?dl=0&preview=Pipe+Hit.wav&subfolder_nav_tracking=1
Heya,, Speeds. I tried playing the latest version and looking into the .ini, the tracks seem to be weirdly placed... Like, DWE1M1 has no CD track at all set to it. But I gotta say, huuuuuuuge kudos to you for this, they are awesomesauce.
Hey, thanks for pointing that out - I just checked the INI for nBlood and FS and you're right, I missed entering a track! ...I actually got a LOT of tracks wrong. Sent Bloatoid a message now and put a disclaimer in the description.
Fixed them all! Thanks for catching that before too many people DL'd the update - I've sent the update to Bloatoid and put a google drive in my description temporarily.
@@SpeedySPCFan Awesome! Again, thank you for this! An all-new soundtrack makes it feel all the more special and these are tracks well-worthy of Death Wish!
Hey quick questions; Do you have a list of the levels where these play in Death Wish, Does Fresh Supply use the CD or MIDI varients, and is the addon properly updated for 1.7? Asking because it’s the first time I’m playing Death Wish (Thanks to Civvie), and this sounds awesome but haven’t heard any of these tracks yet in the first couple of levels, only default Blood tracks so far. I haven’t played far yet so I don’t know if this is intended and your tracks show up later, but I wanna be sure it is all set up correctly :)
Death Wish ***DOES NOT*** support MIDI music in add-ons properly, you have to use the CD audio, sorry. My tracks should be the only ones playing, even in the first few levels ^^
@@SpeedySPCFan Oh, then I think the addon is broken for 1.7, because I followed al the instructions perfectly for Fresh Supply and I’m still only hearing Blood’s default OST :(
@@algea2921 Ahh, dang it... give me some time this week and I'll try to solve it. Bloatoid said he properly updated the INI for Death Wish 1.7. I think nBlood should work just fine with both soundtracks, but I'll try to figure out what's wrong.

Dark Secrets is so beautiful, has an eery untamed wilderness feel, probably my favorite.
Yeah, but then it progresses into more of a journey or trial.

Fantastic album! Playing through the mod based on Civvie's recommendation and this music is a great companion with headphones.
I just want to say that the Deathwish mod is one of my favorite games ever and your music is just the cherry on top !
He lives!

Not only is this an awesome soundtrack but there is not a single level in DW where the track choice does not fit.
Good job!
This ost seriously gives off an atmosphere I’ve never felt in any other game, great stuff dude.

Dark Secrets = Best
Really atmospheric and often downright melancholic Soundtrack.
Especially 21:11 gives me heavy Majora's Mask vibes.
Fantastic! Missed this last time I played the mod tho, so I make sure for 2.0 this is working for me
I can't wait to see how you will do episode 4, your music is great. :)
Awesome 👍 very atmospheric! Glad you're back! Been missing your voice!
regarding "it's she" - congratulations! We love you in any "form" as long as you're happy 😊

This soundtrack is amazing man. I can't play Death Wish without it. Please never stop creating.
The soundtrack is dark and moody - Nice! Thanks for uploading it!
Amazing work! It really helps the already great atmosphere of the mod.
Although I find this to be oddly relaxing... Especially Hopeless Cities
14:47 Festival of Blood (DW7.MID)
I had heard that sound also here (Silent hill 2) ua-cam.com/video/JtSkhArwIDg/v-deo.html
What's the source or name of it?
It's from the Altered States sample library by Zero-G
Good work as always.
Is there a chance we can get these tracks in full blown cd quality for listening outside of the game?
Civvie11 sent me here.
Nice work.
The track "Pestilence" is a perfect track for a level with possessed evil dolls.
Sounds rather sad or tragic.

@@SpeedySPCFan Maybe you could distribute just the premade .rff for fresh supply
@@Doorhenge Not possible, the RFF file contains copyrighted data.
I'll see about releasing an XDelta patch.
