  • Hey! I'm Bailey, a stay at home mom of twin toddlers and the owner of Goo Goo Goods. I'm sharing my journey of owning a small business. Thanks for watching!

    Today's vlog is a little more chaotic than usual, our kids are visiting family in NC while we have a fun staycation. This day I spent doing business prep and just had some fun time! I did some studio organization, Ikea shopping, and tested DTF prints on some apparel.

    Use comic book boards to wrap your fabric storage. It works great.

    Hey Bailey! I think someone has already mentioned comic book boards but mentioning them again as they are what I use and they are the perfect size and would work perfectly for your new shelving unit. 😸 x

      Hey!! I have them in my Amazon cart lol, I've been just using cardboard I've cut which works well but is time consuming lol. I'll definitely have to get some!!

    I love the billy bookcases.. I have so many of them in my house, literally every room LOL.. I would suggest if you didnt anchor them to the wall that you do that. It would be a lot safer. The bookcases are really heavy if the fall over. We anchored all of ours… I have an entire wall of them with my Disney collection on them and bought the narrow ones to as well as the regular ones and also got the glass doors for one of them and it looks really cool.

      I do love the billys!! I do need to anchor them I'm just a lil lazy about that lol. We got a narrow one for our boys books in our living room I can definitely see myself getting more!! I like the doors too, I think I may get the lower shelf sliding drawer attachment that looked cute!

    add a cushion mat (I use my Cricut one) to increase the pressure. I have the same presser and the pressure is not very heavy for DTF when using just the mat that came with it. Also I use 350 temp for 30sec for all DTF. It is a game changer :)

      Thank you so much for the tips!! I will definitely try out the time and temp and put the cushion mat in my Amazon cart!!

    Good video. I use the IKEA Alex chests to hold sewing supplies. Works well.

      Thank you so much! I used to have a few Alex drawers before we moved to Florida and I liked them so much I wish we still had them lol. I have a little storage table thing from Ikea I don't remember what it's called that I should use to sewing storage but I've not gotten in the right mindset to clear out what's in there now lol

    It's good practice to do a pre-press to remove moisture and lint roll

    • @googoogoods

      For the DTF the instructions said that was unnecessary but it definitely is good practice!

      I'll do it band aid style next time lol! After it cooled it was a little stressful it did not feel like it was going to stay on the shirt. I'm gonna try to do a little different time/temp that's been suggested and then I'll yank it up!!

    You have to let the dtf cool down sweetheart. When it cools down, it peels easily. Then you press it again.

    • @googoogoods
      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому

      I actually did let them cool down, I probably didn't include that in the video! It took a long time to cool down lol that's why I was only able to get two done that day. I think my time/temp needed to be changed for it to peel easily but I've gotten some good time/temp recommendations to try next time!

    I’ve seen people use comic book boards as mini fabric boards so they can stand up on a bookcase. It always looks like a mini Joann’s when I see those in a shelf. Kind of cute. Really enjoyed the longer vlog!

      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому

      I definitely think I'll probably get some comic book boards in the future, I've been cutting cardboard from boxes and it works well but it is time consuming. I think they look really cute too!! Thank you so much hopefully I'll be able to start doing a bit longer videos coming up soon!

    My sister and I are doing an adult Disney vacay the end of September. When we went two years ago it rained during Fantasmic so they cancelled it right after it started 😭😭. Excited to see the new one finally! Also, I use 340 for 15 for ninja. They are sorta like bandaids, just rip them off.

    • @googoogoods
      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому

      I feel like that's a great time to go!! I always feel like September is a little less busy and sometimes it can be a little cooler for sure!! This week was a hooooottttt one!! You're going to love Fantasmic it was so good!! I'm literally an extremely emotional person when it comes to shows/fireworks so I was straight up crying lol you'll be impressed for sure. I'll definitely try your tips thank you so much! I'll just have to get the courage to yank them off lol

    DTF is a cold peel not hot. let it sit for a min and then take the transfer sheet off

    • @googoogoods
      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому

      I actually did do a cold peel with these, I probably didn't include footage of that! It took them I long time to cool down so they probably say for more like 5-10 minutes lol before I took the sheet off. I've got a lot of new time/temps to try so hopefully next time it's a little easier!

    Two thoughts.. Use the Teflon sheet that you had draped over your heat press at the beginning of the video, over the actual DTF. I wouldnt use the thin parchment over a DTF. It seems to lock in the transfer better… And not sure if you have researched any or heard about Disney cracking down on people who use their fabric on products that they sell. There is a fine line between just using the fabric for things for yourself and using it on something you sell. I actually know someone in Orlando that disney is taking to court and also banned them from their parks for life… Wanted you to look into this before you use commercial fabric on something that you resale. It stinks because there are so many cute fabrics out there that I woudl love to use on things but am scared to even think about it. They closed several Etsy shops for similar things… 😢 Wanted to mention so that you could look into it…

    • @googoogoods
      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому +1

      I'll use the teflon sheet next time I do it!! For those fabrics that I got from Joanns they are actually going to be in things I make for myself but in the style of things I'm going to have in the shop!

    Cut the boxes in half and tape the one end. And then wrap your fabric around the box. Then you’ll be able to put them on the shelf without having to move any of the shelves.

    I have the same press . My sweat spot is 330/10 seconds and repress for 10 seconds . It should be so hard for film to come up once it has cooled enough. Good luck

    • @googoogoods
      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому

      Thank you so much for the suggestions!! I've got a lot of different times and temps to try lol, it did seem way more difficult to come up than I've seen in other people's videos!

  • @laurahonerbrink4567

    Find a direct to film printer that uses hot peel. You'll save tons of time, and you can peel it much quicker. 🎉
    Also, if you press a second time using a t-shirt instead of a teflon sheet, it will be more matte and a softer feel.

    • @googoogoods
      @googoogoods  3 місяці тому

      I'll look into that that would save me a ton of time for sure!! It definitely took it a hot minute to cool down lol. I was using the parchment paper for the second press I didn't know the shirt trick I will try that next time!!

      I'll have to do a test with everybody's time and temp suggestions! Yeah it was taking a long time to do these too it took forever to cool off lol. I may not have included it in the footage but I did let it cool before pealing and then I repressed with the parchment paper again!
