That was not boring! Looking through your father’s collection was great. Like your idea of collecting stamps from one’s birth year. I think I might try that. TY
So many ways to collect. Thank you for watching
Awesome collection and you did very well sharing it with us, Thank you Rob.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching
France has many beautiful stamps. For a very long time, they were made stamps using the engraving technique. I can't wait to see the collection of Polish stamps. 😉
Yes many beautiful stamps. I will enjoy showing more stamps in the future of his collection
Seeing your Dad's stamps is not boring. 🙂I find some of the French stamps artistic and beautiful. I started to collect French stamps that won the Grand Prix de l'art Philatelique and I saw two of them in your Dad's collection. Thanks for sharing, Rob. Looking forward to the next countries.
@@GreatStampAdventure the next one came out yesterday :). Thanks for watching
Thanks for showing us the collection and hinges!!
You are welcome 🙏
Although I have quite a few French stamps up to the 1990s that I found over the years, I am concentrating more on WWII issued stamps and those related to WWII. Thanks for sharing.
@@danielste-marie779 great hearing about what you collect as well. Thank you for watching
Really nice French stamps from very early on. Your father did well to amass such a nice collection and he obviously put in a lot of work to organise them into Scott order. That can be quite a daunting task in itself, especially if you lead a busy life.
03:33 Did you realise that this stamp (Scott 199) was for the Paris Olympics in 1924? I came accross one recently and thought of the Olympics giveaway, but by the time it got to you it would be way too late. (Maybe the next time France hosts the Olympics? 😄 )
Nice video Rob. Thank you for sharing.
France has issued some very nice stamps indeed.
Haha that might be a long wait. Hope you are doing well
France has some very nice stamps. Unfortunately most of the early ones are pricey especially if one, like me, collects only mint stamps. In case you are not aware #'s 359, 527, 534, and 707 are precancels. Most French precancels have this type of overprint. I have a friend who collect postmarks with his birthday. He is trying to get every year. Obviously you cannot get every year as every once in awhie it will fall on a Sunday but he has his list. I had thought of getting a postmark with my birthdate as the zip code but unfortunately post offices that begin with 822 do not go up to my birth year. You could have a collection of Marianne stamps. Most of them are very inexpensive.
@@Robertbrown08049 so many wonderful ideas for collecting. It must be very hard and expensive to collect only mint stamps and still try to collect the world. Thank you for the information on the precancels
