    That's probably the best video on editing Divi in Wordpress I've seen, it was clear, concise, to the point, not overdoing the detail, but covering all the info I'm looking for. Loved it. I'll keep referring to this cuz I'll forget how next time I need to edit, not due to your teaching but notice the gray hair. Thanks. :)

    You're a terrific teacher, but Blue is Section, Green is Row, and Grey is Module

    • @WadeMcMaster

      Thank you! Yah I know the wording is technically different but most people I've helped learn Divi understood the Row / Column / Module explanation better. However, Maybe I should consider addressing this in videos too so it doesn't cause too much confusion. Note taken, thank you :)

    ❤you said request anything ...I’d like to learn how to add “read more...” and split the rest of my blog on another page for the remainder of the blog so I can have 6 blog intros on the blog . Hope that is clear.

    • @WadeMcMaster

      You can add a blog module at the top, then another underneath, then in the blog module settings for the second module, add the number of posts above it into the offset field. You could do this over two oages also if you liked, linking to the second oage manually.. id turn of pagi ation on the first module too. I hope that helps!

    Hi, thanks for the info, I have a bit of a problem, when I click on the little cog to edit some text it doesn't show the text body there is nothing, all I see in the divi popup is Content which shows nothing, then under that there is categories for Link, Background and Admin Label, all I want to do is edit some text on the page.

      I've had that glitch a few times too. I'm not 100% sure how to fix it - but you can try switching off the options in the performance tab in the Divi Options, maybe disable a cache temporarily if you have one.
      Also, are all of your plugins, themes and core up to date? I've found this from time to time and it' s really frustrating. Sorry, I wish I had more information to give you. But I do know Elegant Themes have been working on fixing this issue

    Hi!! Thanks for the tutorial. I'm trying to learn how to edit my already built website. I'm trying to edit my category pages for my products, but when I make any changes to one, it changes it in all of them, but I don't know how to access them individually, and the editor doesn't appear when I go into each page. Could you pls show me how to edit individual pages within this group? Thanks!!

      Is this using the Theme Builder? You can click the cog above the layout int he theme builder home area and assign it to only a specific category instead of all categories. Then duplicate and repeat - I hope that makes sense :)
      Also, double check that the area you are editing on thelayout isn't a global module or row (it will be lime green when you hover over it). You can disable global rows and modules by clicking the far right icon on the little panel that appears (somewhere on the fly out menu) I hope that makes sense!

      @@WadeMcMaster "the cog above the layout " what is this???

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  3 роки тому

      @@wkrabs123 All of the areas you can edit have a little bar appear (blue for the row/section, green for the columns, grey for a module) - the second icon is usually a small 'cog' symbol, that's what you can click to access most settings.
      However, I noticed after uploading that this video is really choppy (except for the mouse pointer) - so I am considering redoing it soon so it's easier to follow.

    Thanks for the video however a tutorial should
    always assume the viewer has total ignorance of the subject matter (after all they wouldn't be watching if they knew how to do it)
    Explain not just the key steps but each sub step that makes up the whole Repeat what you've just done. Go slower. Much slower. I sometimes couldn't even see where you'd placed your cursor before it was gone and we were off onto the next bit. I can't tell you how many times I had to keep rewinding the video to go over something.

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  3 роки тому

      I just noticed the frame rate on this video is a bit messed up. I never noticed since the cursor is recorded separately and was smooth. Otherwise I always do my best to do this as you described.

    Hello. When I click on "Enable Visual Builder", instead of allowing me to edit my page, it makes me choose to either "build from scratch", "choose a premade layout", or "clone existing page". Do you have any idea why I'm unable to simply edit my page?

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  3 роки тому

      I'm pretty sure you click 'build form scratch' and it will convert the WordPress editor info (copy and paste it to another page as backup to be sure though). If it's an existing Divi page then I'm sure, sound like a glitch.

    Hello! I have a question here, at 1:00 of ur video, will anything happen if I accidentally clicked on the ‘Return To Default Editor’ button? I’m unsure whether clicking on that button made any changes to my website.

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  2 роки тому

      Hi Loh Wei! Yes, It will remove the Divi Builder layout you made, and revert to the most recent standard WordPress revision you have there.

      @@WadeMcMaster So is this something that I should worry about? Or is it no big deal?

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  2 роки тому

      @@lohweichern9396 If you don't want to lose the layout built in Divi - I would avoid that button altogether. However, if you're wanting wipe the page layout and start with something simple, you can press it then. So I would worry about it depending on what you want to happen.

      @@WadeMcMaster is there any way to get back the divi builder layout?

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  2 роки тому +1

      @@lohweichern9396 You can go to edit with the Divi Visual Builder. It won't return automatically, but save thepage and close it.
      Then go to 'edit page' - it should say 'this layout is built with divi' - go over to the right sidebar, click revisions (under status and visibility) and you may be able to try som of the revisions there to restore an old version of that page. It's a little confusing to use, but if you find one revision around the right date (sliding the arrows on the top bar) you can click 'restore this revision' and see if your design is back.
      I hope that helps!

    This is not correct. What you are calling a Row is actually a Section (blue border). What you are calling a Column is actually a Row (green border). Please correct this tutorial.

    • @WadeMcMaster
      @WadeMcMaster  2 роки тому +1

      I have made a newer version and corrected that. However, while you are correct, i often found in thenpast that describing it this way help people in person understand a lot better than using the official names. So i was more l interested in making it easy to understand but i have since updated the way i explain this in an attempt to meet half way using the correct names. The updated tutorial is on my channel tho if you want to rewatch :)
