I am not entirely sure. Here are the rules for this class listed on Eddyville Raceway Park's website: Class Rules: Stick shift door cars or trucks only. Foot operated clutch required, linkage must be mechanical. Mechanical shifters only, no hydraulics or magnets allowed. No air cylinders, no clutch-turbos. No computer, electronic, or air shift allowed. No electronic device-throttle stop, or delay box allowed. Rev limiter, play back tach, and data recorders allowed. No nitrous, blowers, or turbos allowed. Bracket race format using full tree, breakout rules apply. No buy backs. Maximum dial in: 6.99 sec.

That's like asking "Are 500ci small blocks mountain`motors?"[No offense] !!!...I noticed one ride that had a lenco decal, But I personally would think the integrity and history of the "Box" as it relates to drag racing would be jeopardize by allowing lencos as it lends a rather unfair advantage as far as "Good old-fashioned" driving skills are concerned. There's a big difference between just sitting there grabbing levers and the old-school method of physical coordination ability not to mention major differences in the units themselves that totally separates the two even though both are manual transmissions. Our ol' ladies could probably make a decent pass with a lenco, Not so with a box (At least not mines😁!)--THAT'S THE TRUE ESSENCE OF THIS CLASS IN PARTICULAR. The lenco is not quite observed as "Old-school" unless you're referring to NHRA Pro-Stock !... I've seen lencos with the support of a torque converter !!!
Whoever put this together does not know how to film without an obstacle in the way and pure stick shifts should only be allowed, that was the beauty of vintage drag racing especially between the fords and chevys as their automatics were 2-3 spe3ed slushboxes.
If you are going to film something like this you should be in the burn out area or up in the stands about the 5th row, It sucks to look at a guard rail all the time.
Dennis Rhodes ..... He needed a step ladder ladder and a tripod equipped with mounting clamps/hardware....His location was actually good and camera focus/zoom appears great , But like you said, too in-line with the guardrail. Another issue I had was concerning the program itself....They should have paired the cars closer in proximity in terms of their performance(s) if they were gonna run "Heads-up" even though it was a "4-speed Show" like for instance, I noticed they had "Pro-Stock type" cars paired up against "Bracket Bombshells" ! That's like comparing Top-Fuel to Jr. Dragster !!!...But you are correct...It sucks to miss out on the action because of the dam gaurd rail, you can't see shit except the roof of the car once the front end comes down especially in the near lane !

A Lenco is not a stick shift car. That's like calling paddle shifters manuals.

He is standing by the fence, So depending how steep the bleachers are.
