Gucci Horsebit Loafers Refurbishment | From Boring Soles to Graffiti Soles

  • In this video, we give this pair of Gucci horsebit loafers a makeover. A customer mailed these in to us and wanted to get rid of the bland and boring half soles and instead add the JR Graffiti leather soles and heels. After adding on the new soles and then polishing these shoes with some Saphir Renovateur and Pommadier cream, these shoes definitely experienced a makeover...for the better!

That's so funny. I agree wholeheartedly. I find myself looking at how people's shoes are constructed now. With work boots, I look at the welt material, etc... I'm far more educated and appreciative of expensive shoes & boots now.

I like it best when you talk your way through the repair, explaining as you go. You probably feel it's repetitive, but your commentary, as you work, is very enjoyable. Thanks.

Lucille...I have utilized shoe repair shops in the past, mostly because I didn't understand the workings of shoes. After watching these videos...and knowing what I already know about fine garment construction and tailoring...I believe with the right tools, I could do some basic repairs...and perhaps even create my own shoes (or copy one of my favorite pair).

It’s still a young man’s game - the brute STRENGTH require to run that groove/channel around the sole before stitching. Yeow - this is certainly another “don’t slip” moment. Can you tell us if you get the therapeutic benefit same as your viewers. Why the hell i can’t stop watching puzzles me :-) WHY do I care about shoe repair all of a sudden?! THANKS to you and your “upper specialist” brother. GREAT NEW CHANNEL. I especially liked the new camera angle in this one when you wet the old soles before removing them.

Great work. I know it has nothing to do with shoes, but your souther accent... 🧡 i guess it’s the Texas girl in me that finds it very appealing.

Great and informative video as always 👍. Hey, hope you guys and your families are ok after the tornadoes hit your part of the US. Looks pretty bad from what I've seen on the news over here. Stay safe. ATB from sunny Malaysia 😎

Razif Mahathir Thank you sir! Yes, we’re all okay. Thank you for asking. A lot of damage was done in our city, but it occurred just north of us. Wishing you all the best in Malaysia!

Love your videos. It would be helpful if you gave us an approximate value of the shoes you are rescuing. I google it but many are hard to find since they are older.

Hi Trenton & Heath. Would you in future do a video about Baudoin & Lange loafers if can be restored, or would be great if you have one on hand about to restored if any chance. Cheers.

Years ago I took a pair of my English riding boots to a place by Bell Rd. and Nolensville Rd (always a mistake right there). Somehow one of the tacks in the heel came up through the shoe and I felt it every time I walked in the boots. Since I normally rode in them, not walked in them, I didn't take it back to be fixed. In the end I finally bought another pair of boots.

Hey there! I was wondering if you know anything about replacing crepe sole, and what that process is like. I've had a pair of Clarks Wallabees since 2015, and the sole is wearing thin. I really wanna keep 'em so let me know! Thanks y'all!
