Point is, it's the psychological affect on Israeli civilians watching missiles rain down on their country. Israel's Iron Dome Defense was not effective against those type of missiles.
Iron Dome is not for these type of attacks. They have David's sling and Arrow-3 interceptors for that purpose. Arrow 3 intercepts the ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere at the apex of the ballistic trajectory when the ballistic missiles are more vulnerable because their speed is very low

Iron Dome and other anti missile systems do not shoot down projectiles landing on places where there are no inhabitants or infrastructure. Every missile system is design that way. I mean thats a no brainer. Air defense missiles are expensive af

"Targeting" a military installation is not the same as actually hitting it. Nevatim is a massive facility - but the working parts only make up a small proportion of the whole. The rest of it is just sand. It's quite possible some rockets landed within the area of the base - but if they actually hit anything meaningful there'd be Iranian purchased satellite imagery everywhere. Note that "Military Watch Magazine" failed to quote any sources by name - it sounds like some guy in his back bedroom, or a Russian rumor mill.

Hang on. I am not on any side, I think they are as bad as each other and would just pack it in. However, from the footage one sees many missiles impacting in a small area which indicates to me that the geo positioning was off by some area of error.
