Will you please do a video or respond to this comment or even a direct message to include how Echinococcus Granulosus is diagnosed? Stool/urine? Blood? Biopsy? What are the risks, if any, associated with the different diagnostic methods? My doctor suspects that I have this because I have a 12 cm cyst located near my spleens junction. I have had an MRI and CT with contrast and the oncological surgeon specialist I consulted with dismissed the notion that this is a parasitic cyst immediately without even considering ruling it out at the very least. She said it only happens in the liver so I could not possibly have that. I tried to tell her it is possible for the cyst to form elsewhere in the body but was immediately shut down. (Surgeons can have big egos at times)
I had this when I was 18. It was a bit atipical because I had it on multiple organs (lung and liver) and it got into the left lung, wich is very rare because most of the time it goes into the right lung. I had a 30 cm cyst in my left lung and another one a bit smalles on the liver. They had to remove half of my lung and a big chunk of my liver. They say it can live in humans for about 20 years without any symptoms. It was a nightmare. This thing is nothing to play with!
Wow. Best explanation I’ve heard on any parasitological topic. Thanks!
