My God! This project is the most complex on this side of the London Gardens! It's hardened in case of nuclear war. While this is a fantastic channel, the time and money investment to do a project to this degree of completion scares the hell out of 75% of would-be gardeners. There are other ways to achieve results without this level of execution. Make no mistake, that this is not criticism rather a rare YT declaration of excellence. But I'm exhausted just watching it.

Thank you Kyle for showing what's possible here in Sacramento! With your inspiration I finished Part 1 of my dream garden just in time for this spring planting. My dad told me to leave a comment here telling you we had a blast building two redwood raised beds (4'x13') and (4'x15') out in my front yard with river rock paths. You did a thorough job, at some times crossing the line of OCD when it comes to growing vegetables. Don't worry, I danced that line the whole time with my project as well when I was treating the raised beds like furniture pieces. Attention to detail and a little extra thought in the process makes work like ours stand above the rest. Next Project is transforming my old in ground garden space in the backyard to a fruit tree forest like you did as well. Keep up the dedicated work and best of luck this growing season!

Man, that's a lot of rock! It will be worth the effort in the long run though. Adding low voltage wiring is brilliant!

Thank you! Yes, this years heavy rain didn’t cause even one little puddle in the garden, so it’s paying off well so far. Also, no weeds yet! 🤞🏼

This is the exact video I needed to see as I am currently ripping out a part of my grass area to expand my garden beds into. I’ve also been trying to figure out which base layer to use and was considering wood mulch or D.G. But I think I’ll follow your steps and go with the beautiful pea gravel for the top layer. Thank you so much for these incredible and inspiring videos and I can’t wait to see the rest of the series.

I have been waiting since you posted this video for the follow up videos that you promised me, when I commented in the first place. I understand that you’re a firefighter, however, there have not been any major fires in our area. I work in insurance, as a day job, I know how crazy anything in northern ca is right now, but I was really counting on you to teach me how to grow food in this area!!! I don’t know what else to do besides sell and move somewhere that it rains regularly.
