Thank you Cherry Mon for the powerful Bible study, what ever we have it is Belong to god, Old Testament Tith for Levi& Expenses for Tents when we give Tith we Destroy greed or Generosity,When we give we Honor god and I trust in you,When we give we are full filling Great commission ,God Bless you and your family Abundantly 🙏🙏🙏
Thank u for ur elaborate teaching on tithing. The last OT prophet, Malachi, issued a stern warning from God to the returning refugees. For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. “But you said, in what way shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, In what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation” (Malachi 3:6-9 ) Malachi prophesied the coming of the Messiah like how the previous prophets of the OT did. He foretells the coming of a messenger who wld prepare the way for the Messiah. He prophesied both the first n the second coming of the Messiah. We know that His first coming was for repentance n His second was for judgment. Thus Malachi warns the people n also gives them hope. In the OT, Abraham gave his tithe to Melchizedek who was the “King of Salem and priest of God Most High”. He blessed Abraham after receiving a tenth of all the goods he recovered from the war between allied kings in the area. God’s love n His election does not change. He is gracious n merciful, hence we are not consumed. All God expects frm us is to repent, believe n return to Him. We rob God of tithes n offerings n don’t give the whole tithe n dishonor Him n are cursed. Thus we lose our blessings. God is our Creator n everything belongs to Him. We are only His stewards. Tithing started much earlier than Moses, this existed from the time of Abraham. They had also other offerings to give so almost 25 % was what they gave in total. They gave to support the Priestly class the Levites n for the needs of the temple. In the NT tithing was required for God’s work n for the preachers n teachers of God’s Word. It’s the responsibility of the people to meet their needs. By tithing we learn discipline, avoid selfishness n to be generous. We honor n trust God, show our love for Him n acknowledge that all that we have is frm God n belongs to Him, He is our provider. We can’t serve both God n mammon. Many atrocities are caused due to love of money, for where our treasure is there will our hearts be also . We also fulfill the great commission to take the gospel to the ends of the earth by supporting missionaries, those who dedicate their lives for this cause. God promises us that when we tithe, we will be blessed with His peace that surpasses all understanding. For everything, we need God’s blessings. What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his soul? Those who are generous have abundant life. God tells us to test Him in this. His promises never fail. They are always yes n Amen. We must give on a regular basis. We must plan n give according to the needs around us n proportional to the income we earn. When we give, we must not let worldly praise motivate our actions. Never keep accounts of our giving for it’s God who gives us everything. Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously. We mustn’t give reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Our giving shld be sacrificial n generous n not out of compulsion or fear. We don’t have to give tithe in the new covenant but we get the opportunity n the privilege to give to our God.
Good believers wish to give for God's work. But,concerned persons must make proper account and submit copy of the sheets to the giver for his confidence that the money is properly in use.
Hi Bro. My understanding on Gen 14, Abraham return from the battle after victory over enemy, and gave one tenth of what he captured ( robbed), pls. correct me.
TITHING was a paganistic practice of giving one tenth to the religious priest. This practice existed even during Abram's time. That is why Abram on return from defeating the enemies, when met by Melchizedek, the King of Salem and the priest of God Most high, gave a tenth of everything to him( Genesis 14: 28-20). Noention of tithing thereafter. Subsequently coming to the time of Jacob, when he was on the way to Paddan Aram, he stopped for the night. As he was sleeping with his head on the stones he saw a dream. In the dream the Lord said to Jacob that the promise he had made to Abraham would be given to his descendants and that God would bless, him, be with and watch over him wherever he went. God would not leave him and bring him back to his land. When Jacob woke up from sleep he realised God's presence was there. Jacob made an altar of stones and put forward his proposal to God. Jacob said that if God looked after him wherever he went and brought him back safely, then the Lord who appeared to him would be considered as his God. Then he said that he would give in return A TENTH of all what he received from God. ( Genesis 28: 10 - 22) This is Jacob promising God that he would give God a tenth of what he received. This is called the TITHE. Please note that God does not respond to Jacob in any way but keeps silent. Subsequently, when Jacob's descendants who were brought out from slavery by Moses, misbehaved during the journey through the desert to the promised land. They were disobedient to God. They even went on to worship the golden calf made by Aaron. God finally got fed up of the Israelites and decided to bind them down with specific commandments and laws till the coming of God's, Son, Jesus Christ. God had only made use of the promise made by their own fore father, Jacob to God. God made TITHING and other kinds of offering as laws to be obeyed by the Israelites. ( Exodus & Leveticus). With the coming and resurruction of Jesus Christ, the Old Covenant came to an end. The New Covenent of Jeeus Christ came into force. Hence there is NO MORE TITHING. FINISHED. 😮 The giving of the New Testament time is totally different for the God's Children. God is the giver of every thing to us. God gives more to some and less to others. God expects that those who received more than what their needs is, must share with the other needy people. They are also Gods creation and to be our brothers and sisters as children of God. There is no rule or law for NT giving. God's children are to share cheerfully what they have with the needy. Chritianity as Religion interprets it into giving to God and God's people and for the building up of Gods kingdom etc. God does not want any from us from what he has given. This is being interpreted differently quoting NT to deceive people to give for what the church say. On accepting Jesus Christ we are forgiven and reconciled back to God into a personal relationship with him as his Children. God of the Universe becomes our Heavenly Father. We need to behave and do as Children of God should as we represent him on this earth.
Let me to learn to give God His dues cheerfully by returning to Him! Wonderful message! Thank you Brother 🙏

Why no one gave tithe to Paul? Or why he didn’t accept tithe?
A small doubt, what if a believer dies not tithe to his church, but says he gives something for God's work somewhere else? How do we respond to this?
does
