This Valentine's MAP doesn't focus on romantic love, rather motherly love from mother to son, namely Speckletail to Snowkit.
Their story wasn't long, but it was loving until the end.

I wondered what flower speckletail had, so I went back to the google doc for the designs and found it was a pink carnation and it symbolizes a mother's undying love. :)
Well that just makes me really sad. :(
But Light pink carnation's mean good luck, and we all know that Snow kit didn't have much luck so we all know what happens next

Silver Heart, it also depends on the age of the kitten. I hate to say it, but Snowkit was still really young. If only he were an apprentice so he could’ve been able to be to heavy and even though he would have gotten hurt he also could have been the first deaf warrior in ThunderClan
I think he couldn't survive being all alone. It would be hard for him to catch food.
He falls in a tree and finds his way back and Speckletail is really happy and Snowkit gets a special job thats okay for deaf cats!
Nah a kitten as old as Snowkit is small enough for a hawk, he would be the size of a fish a hawk would catch at that age (for ex, trout or bass)
apprentices in warriors are much smaller than cats their age in real life.
I love speckletail so much. When everyone tells her that there is something wrong with her son, she ignores it, and lashes out at them like any mother would if they were told their son was strange. She believed her son was normal, and despite him not being able to hear it, told him that he was normal as can be. I just love her because she acts realistically.

I dislike Rainflower too but she acted the way she did cause she thought he was gonna die and didn't want to get attached. But when he didn't I don't think she could just go back to how it used to be.
@@wil-da-oak4793 she literally went out of her way to say mean things to him, in the book, when Oakpaw becomes Oakheart, Rainflower says, infront of everyone, Crookedpaw would never be as good as Oakheart and then Shellheart lashes out at her. If she actually did love him, not just for his looks, even at all, she would just ignore him. I despise Rainflower, but know she was abused as a kit. If you were abused, it will be tuff, but she never realized she was doing the same thing to Crooked.

Apples and Cream cinder pelt was killed by a badger •-•(when I said this the comment said killed)
Lily and Fily later on in the series badgers raid the thunder clan camp. Leaf pool decided to return instead of running away with crowfeather. When she returned cinderpelt had been attacked while defending sorreltail and leafpool watched her die.(when I said this the comment said killed)

I didn’t even realize i was trembling until the credits.
The creators of Warrior Cats just had a thing for beating up disabled characters.
I.... They literally live in the forest..... Where life really is pretty much kill or be killed and survival of the fittest... The clans care for and save as many of their own as they can but tons of cats still die or are hurt in the books regardless of physical ability...
@@Ari_C It doesn't make it any less painful when disabled characters are so quickly brushed away in stories. It's right up there with the Bury Your Gays trope. It had better be a damn well deserved and planned out death. Every time a deaf character dies in a show, I lose it. I literally stopped watching a Netflix show because they killed their deaf character in the most back handed way physically possible. It stings
@@Ari_C that doesn't matter, it's fiction. It was still incredibly shitty for the Erens to kill off the only deaf character in the series. There could have been a great chance to have representation for those with disabilities in the books, but they just decided to kill him instead.
I'm pretty sure the erins got rid of snow kit so quickly because they didn't know what they were going to do with him
Nature always tends to be crueler to those with disabilities, in the wild it would be realistic that disabled characters have a lesser chance of survival. There’s still tons of disabled characters who lived a full or almost full life. Cinderpelt, Briarlight, Jayfeather, etc
You know what- Mosskit, Hopekit, Wishkit, and Snowkit should have survived... they could be friends 😿

i kept expecting a hawk to come and swoop him away, honestly. this just shows how much speckletail was pained by her sons disability, but didn’t stop loving him like a mother is supposed to. i love the way you had her communicate through vibrations, not sound. i do believe he could’ve been a warrior because of this, maybe not fight in battles, but could definitely be an excellent hunter. he could feel the vibrations of prey scuffling and scurrying, and it would’ve been a heartwarming story.

@@kermitoguerreiro7952 learn from his peers maybe? Like they could use extreme symbolism. He could be paired up with another apprentice, one who would be able to stick with him throughout his life (almost like an arranged friendship/marriage, which sounds weird or bad, but need somebody to follow). Every time said cat had to do something (like a patrol, hunting, battle, and) Snow’Kit would do it with them. He’d learn to mimic what they did, and could use vibrations to help himself along. As to learning the code, they could do exercises! Like, maybe for learning borders, they’d patrol them with him, then purposefully run a piece of prey over the border. They’d teach him not to follow it past a certain point, among other things. They could teach him who was leader/deputy by having him attend every meeting. (He wouldn’t be able to hear them anyways, so he’d be fine attending meetings as a kit. He’d learn who were the important cats. And they could even use different flowers/leaves for him to figure out who’s who aswell. Med cats could wear mint leaves, leader/deputy other stuff, and apprentices and queens could be differentiated aswell.) Of course, I think he’d be more camp bound than others, but also a useful individual. He’d be able to do repairs on the dens, and be kinda like brightheart and help the medicine cats. Anyways, this was a huge ramble, I just think it would’ve been cool if he lived… :((

Well, I really think that deaf cats would have a kind of "Nanny" someone stay right by their side (Don't need to be on their side all the time, especially in the camp) but on patrols, because well, they will never learn correctly about the code of the warrior, he may even understand some things or incomplete. the warriors who would side with them could be a mother or father or some relative or even any warrior. But I feel they would be sad because they might think the clan is treating him as an incapable or helpless little Kit XD
But instead they killed him off just like Featherkit.
To brighten everybody’s days. It’s said by the Erin’s that disabilities are removed when they are in starclan. Imagine snow-kit running to his mom after her passing finally able to hear her voice, they rejoice and live together in starclan for the rest of their afterlives.

this is so cute... snowkit’s death is one of the saddest warriors deaths i’ve ever read. i wish he didn’t have to die since he was so far the only deaf cat in this series and it would’ve been really nice to see that concept explored and just more disabled cats getting attention. smh the writers were too cowardly... i love how speckle just sees him as normal and it doesn’t bother her none that he’s deaf, he’s still her baby no matter what ;___;

Why was i born in this generation?
I laughed oh god oh no.
I feel like he had a lot of wasted potential they could have done a lot with the deaf cat For example like seen in this map they could have used ground Vibrations or even tail Movements As a certain type of Sign language. Or he could have learned to heighten his other senses like sight , smell , and touch if he became a warrior. They also could have been a pretty good medicine cat Snow kit could have used His heightened smell to help find injured cats Who were bleeding. He could have also used The vibrations in the ground to tell us if something large is coming towards camp before the other cats in camp could tell. To be honest I don't think killing off a deaf character in warriors was really not their best decision. A lot of kids could have related to this character especially if they were deaf themselves, seeing a strong deaf character in one of their favorite book series would have been good! But they killed him off before he could have done anything that important rip snowkit.
This is a great idea! To bad it'll never happen to him. Maybe later in the series though.

I still mourn the loss of snowkit. Mainly because he couldn't hear so he didn't know the hawk was coming and then he was gone. Good map, too. I can't cry because my brother's in the room and it would be embarrassing... Sucks.

I don't blame speckletail for acting this way cuz I would act the same way, if someone told me that my baby wasn't good enough.
I was talking to my friend and she had her baby sister listening, she asked me why snow'kit can't hear and her sister busted in saying "he just didn't want to hear everyone talking bad towards him! So when he was born he chose to not hear!" After that and watching this map I nearly cried
Edit: also my friend pointed out the petal was shaped like a heart showing how speckle'tail cares for her son with all her heart, I also nearly cried bc of that lol

If I recall correctly, deaf folk can actually 'listen' to music but only experience it through the vibration of it and can still enjoy it even if it's not exactly the same experience, maybe he can't hear the song like hearing cats but he can feel that and his mother's love which is what the song communicates.

The entire time I was holding my breath like “When’s the hawk part-“ but it never happened so y a y
I have an au idea where the hawk that picked up snowkit flies to the tribe of rushing water and gets attacked, snowkit is taken in as "snow falling lightly" or "one who beats hawks" or something like that, during the great journey, snow and firestar meet and snow rejoins the clans
Another au idea: snowkit gets dropped by the hawk in a river and survives, he grows up with no name and becomes a skilled hunter, he wants the name snowtuft and he joins a clan with out no one outside that clan knowing as a medicine cat, he killed cats and became snowtuft in the dark forest

I'm loving the never ending love and concern speckle felt for her kit, she was always there for him. She refused to even think about her son being strange, she just loved him. This map really focuses on that mother to son relationship and that's what I watch it years later
I'm not in the warriors fandom, yet I stumbled across this map, and boy oh boy I was not prepared to cry today
First off I just want to point out that all the talented animators made the story clear. Speckletail takes care of Snowkit, the deaf(?) Kit. And they did it with such a powerful way that shows the true love between a mother and son. This map is so beautifully done and I just wanted to say I really really love and adore this so much,, you guys please please keep up this amazing work and continue to inspire people like me please!

If you don’t read Warriors then you REALLY should. Though I must warn you that you might cry ALOT. There is lots of deaths in these books. (Some worse than others)

it made me sad to find out snowkit was deaf
it made me annoyed when the entire clan except speckletail gave up on him
it made me angry when he was killed specifically for being deaf
it made me cry to watch this map
Coming back to this in 2023 I still tear up and cry. Snowkit's death was actually very sad and I can't even imagine the pain Speckletail felt when he got taken by the hawk. I can just see her sobbing her heart out as Sandstorm comforts her. Great job Sagutoyas this MAP is so beautiful

There's something in the songs you choose, your beautiful designs and the way you script these MAPs that they always make me cry, scenes that I didn't find as emotional in the books make me particularly emotional when I see it in the MAPs you host. I also find really nice that you didn't show Snowkit's death, it give the MAp a nice touch and leaves you with a sweet sensation instead of a bitter one
2:48 This could also work as an AU where he lives. She called him back before everyone was aware of the hawk, which means he lived. Speckletail and Brackenfur (once he proved that his intentions were good) became his unofficial co-mentors since Bluestar refused to have him officially mentored. With him being deaf, it boosted his other senses and he learned to read movement like an Espeon does. Taking something from my favorite Snowkit lives AU, he puts his tail up to other cat's throats and translates the vibrations. He even learns to read lips and becomes a master of body language reading and can tell if someone is lying by their body language, which makes future storylines quite interesting, *Cough*Squirrelflightandleafpool*cough*. For the warrior name that I think would fit him, definitely Snowwhisker for his heightened senses. But I love irony and Snowwing and Snowhawk (like in the story) would be awesome too.

It makes me cry to know that Snowkit died. I bet he died mostly so the story could wrap it up with Speckletail and move her to the elders den. I used to hope he escaped and was found by a Twoleg and was raised as a kittypet then return to ThunderClan, but his moment never came.🥺😭

thank you for making a map with snowkit that doesnt end in his death, this is so sweet and their relationship isnt given enough attention. speckletail was a wonderful mom, she was the only one that was truly understanding and loving of snowkit, and i wish he had lived so he could have become a wonderful warrior with his mother by his side the whole time. this map is lovely 💙

I honestly adore the fact you didnt decide to include Snowkit's super tragic death in the storyboard. This was so sweet and I love it so much.
This is so beautiful. This LITERALLY made me cry! Speckletail and Snowkit were just such underrated characters and really deserved this. The song choice is perfect for the theme, and the art is beautiful! I’m still drying my tears. Snowkit deserves a better life ♡︎

I always felt like killing off snowkit was an excuse of not wanting to have a deaf cat go into training... :C they should hav at least given him a death when he was an apprentince I would have loved to see him even if just as a background character and how he grows despite his ability (I mean they had longtail, and jayfeather who were blind but not a deaf one???) I mean speckletail even practicaly begged them to try to at least use tail signals or the vibrations like she did in the MAP and if his training didn't work out he could have still lived and done something! just think of the potential that little guy could have had!

Oh my goodness...I love everything about this video I don't know what to start off with.
The atmosphere of the video, it's so calm and pretty, with the flowers and the lighting really matches well with the soft tone of the song. Everyone's map part was unbelievably beautiful, and just precious to watch. Every single animator brought Speckletail's love for her kit, and had shown it clearly. I especially loved watching Snowkit's cute lil' antics, like how in Gekko's part, he chased around the feather. I also adore how Speckletail's way of training her deaf kit, or 'telling' him to come to her was shown by the taps of her paw, and the vibrations it does to the ground. (Good job Ursiday!!)
I was surprised to see Crownedx Wolf as one of the animators! I just discovered their amazing Flipaclip animations, so wow!! And SodaPopTops!! I think I remember seeing a map part of them from the Joan Of Arc map, it's definitely great to see animators of new and old. And, I really wish to continue on about how everybody's map parts were gorgeous, (I love the painted feeling of Tybaxel's map part, Sagutoyas having Speckletail bring Snowkit closer to her literally made my heart melt, and the way Crowla drew Speckletail's expressions as she watches Snowkit, oof, my hearttt!!).
I definitely love this map for Valentine's Day. Although it's more of a couple's day, it's about love, and love can be found anywhere. From parent to child, from siblings, and love is also found and forged in friendships. I'm not in a relationship, and I did not spend Valentine's Day with a significant other, but, I spent my time at school with my friends. I had given chocolate kisses (but first asking, "Do you want a kiss?"), to classmates and friends, and even conversed with a former friend.
But also today, I was just reminded about how much I truly love and care for my friends, and even though we're far apart, we don't talk anymore, or life has and will set us on different paths, the love and care I've shared with my friends will always remain with me, and help me understand how love exists besides the love between two lovers.
