I lost my Dad, Brett Buchart Williams, when I was 18, he was 48. We had a similar conversation as he was passing. I'm so blessed to have had the time with him in the hospital to tell him how much I loved him, and how I would do my best to make him proud while he's sleeping. Cherish your elders, not just parents, but anyone who's close to making the greatest journey. They're scared, your words will help.

That is his real bad he needed a kidney transplant but he got one still alive as far as I know
James' dad had stage 4 kidney disease and a donor couldn't be found and doctors had said it was terminal when he wrote this song. The song was recorded in one take and by the end of the video shoot everyone was in tears except his dad who said 'what's all this fuss for I'm still here''. After the video was released a distant cousin saw it and came forward who was a match and the transplant could take place (James' dad only had 1 kidney himself because he had been a living donor in the past). The transplant worked and his dad is still alive today. All the proceeds of this song were donated to Help For Hero's a UK veterans charity as both James and his da were in the army.
