I'm not even kidding. I'm not dealing with that drama again this year.

I have one of my kids' lists of needed supplies for the coming year, so let's go shopping! :)
I just graduated college and this is my first year not buying school supplies. I’m actually kinda sad. I love stationary and anything that gives the illusion that I have my life together.

As a teacher who has a summer job to pay for supplies for my kiddos who don't have them, I appreciate your support for your children and their school community.
@@piney70 Thank you! Some of them are very appreciative, some not so much lol. It doesn't matter to me, of course it feels good to get a thank you, but I just want to know that I am setting them all up for success and starting the year off giving them the best opportunity I can.

Omg. I could cry. As a teacher, like several others have commented, this seriously warms my heart. I have parents complaining about having to buy TWO boxes of Kleenex. I don’t think they realize how often junior high kids fake blow their nose just to go talk with their friends sitting by the garbage can/ Kleenex box 😂 those boxes go fast! Sorry, parents. Forgive us for not wanting your kids to wipe their noses on their shirts when they’re actually sick.

My sons new school just requests $25 for elementary but I'm seriously going to ask if I can get supplies and still give that money. I will probably get a weird look lol my aunt is an elementary teacher in the same district so I know they 25 doesn't go far

This was always my favourite thing to do! My mom would make a day of it - school supplies, a couple new outfits and a pair of shoes + east side Mario’s for lunch! Great memories.
Thank you for purchasing all the supplies with such a great attitude. As a single mother of 3, I know it can add up. However, as a teacher, I know how we use them. Fun stations, math journals and notes, projects that are hands-on and not just worksheets! Back when I was in school, we just needed paper and pencils, but now they have to know so much more, so much earlier and pass huge tests on it. Teachers are under so much pressure to make sure students are exposed to the material in so many different ways. I spend hundreds of my own money a year buying supplies for students that don't have any. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm watching this in 2020 and seeing people being able to go into a store and see things like hand sanitizer, lysol wipes, and toilet paper almost seems like a fever dream nowadays.

As a future teacher this warms my heart!! Most of the places that I have student taught seriously lack supplies due to stubborn parents, and it is so refreshing to see a parent with such a good attitude about pitching in for classroom supplies.
school supply list should go out at the end of the school year, so these parents wont be so stingy when the time nears..

I always send in extra stuff. I swear the younger kids eat the pencils for a snack they go through them so fast lol I worked in a school and the expo markers and glue sticks went fast too. Kids forget to put the caps on and they dry out.

When I was a kid, my favorite thing was picking out my school supplies. Nostalgia ahhhhhh. Thank you for helping me stay sane; recently had a bad ankle injury at work and I'm supposed to stay in bed with it elevated. Been losing my mind until I watch your videos!

I can't tell you how often he tells me that parents just absolutely refuse to buy a few extra items for the class and he ultimately pays for it himself out of his unfairly and unreasonably small income.

I'm a custodian at an elementary school and I can confirm that the lead from regular pencils break off when they sharpen them too much, fall on the floor and mark it up just as bad. 😂

Teachers deserve a lot, I know my mother gets a little mad when she has to buy so much, but I’m just a “pre-teen” and I understand how hard it is for you lovely teachers, but I know that it’s mainly because that the school doesn’t pay for it, they have to take out their own money for supplies for the children. Bless ya’ll teachers hearts!

I'm a teacher in the UK I love some of the different names you have. We call Pencil pouches, pencil cases and we call sheet protectors, plastic folders.
emmabtvs I live in the us and people who call pencil pouches pencil cases too. I think it just varies on the person here.

the man at walmart with the sodas was probably a member of AP (asset protection) that works for the store, and they follow people who they may feel are suspicious & he probably felt like that bc you were openly filming, they can’t really confront you or anything unless they actually catch you doing something illegal.

No that's normal. I loved school cloths and all the cool new supplies. Its when my teacher took it for herself that got me mad. Then she would go give all my favorite stuff to other kids and i got the crapy stuff

Here in Australia we just get sent a list of school supplies and we tick the boxes for the stuff we want and then pay online for it and it gets delivered to your house. Although shopping is always cheaper the box is just super handy.

I think the weird specifics (like pink rectangle eraser) might be because they pool supplies and don’t want kids fighting over which eraser or whatever they get that day/for a project?
It’s amazing the time you save by making sure everything is as similar as possible (repeating “you get what you get & you don’t throw a fit” gets old fast when you are watching all the time for your actual lesson plan get wasted.)

Ariesgirl my son is only 3, and I have him help me pick out school supplies and a backpack to donate for the kiddos that don’t have them. Maybe you could do something like that to help you through it..?? It helps my son understand that not everyone has as much as he does, and maybe it’ll help you through the transition to being an empty nester... and help a kid in the process! ❤️ I just love picking out school supplies. It reminds me of when I was a kid, and I still have a couple of years before I can do it with my little one.

Im from Switzerland ( Sorry for my english) and here its totally diffrent. Everyone is just buying the supplies for yourself. So we just have like 3 Pencils, 1 Ereaser , 1 gluestick, 3 Pens,... We use them until their broken or just at the end. So its common to use your stuff several Years. The Notebooks and Sheets you get from the School for free. But here everything is much more expensive. I think 10 Pencils are something like 5$.
