I got this figure on pre-order, the altmode is near perfect (except where they've had to modify it to add the battery section) I don't mind the robot mode, the visor/sunglasses are a nice touch, but the waist tab not catching properly bothers me, as does the fact the arms/legs pop off fairly easily, so he's staying in altmode from now on, just waiting for my reprolabels from Toyhax to arrive, so I can hide the robot parts behind some stickers for the windows lol. Great to hear your enthusiasm and nostalgia for the TV series and the original car itself come through during this review btw :D It's a real shame they didn't use any voice clips from the series, that would have made the toy that much better. I know this is essentially supposed to be KITT as a Transformer/Cybertronian with his robot mode looking like Michael Knight, but part of me wishes they'd of found a way to include a mini figure of Michael to go with it/sit in side, or maybe made him a Headmaster unit? A retool/recolour as KARR would be cool, maybe with the robot mode looking like Garth Knight with the goatee? Or a recolour/retool of an Optimus as Goliath, and then one as the F.L.A.G. mobile command unit/headquarters, and Agent Knight/KITT could fit inside? Great review btw!
@@Superfan-UK the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am is my all time favourite car so of course, I was going to gush about the small details included in the vehicle depiction of this figure. Just a shame that they didn't have the foresight to include the details I highlighted as their inclusion would have sent fans over the edge!
@@WolfKang1 It's mine as well, followed closely by the 1977 version used in Smokey and The Bandit 1 and 2, then ironically for the 3rd movie, they used one very similar to KITT lol. And yeah that's true.
I have a friend in the States who owns a Trans Am - they're awesome. Ohhh, that skirt at the front is annoying! As far as effects go? For me the KITT voice is too iconic - can't have someone else doing it, I would have just had the lights going I think. For the robot mode, I wouldnt have gone with blue, I don't think - you only need the face for it to be Hasselhoff. Interesting that you mention the Dellorian though - its the only one I want really, so I'll pick it up one day if I can find it. Cool. :)
also, the waist tab thing doesnt go in on mine either, methinks it is an inherent design fault due to the swivels on the bonnet not having enough room to fully rotate downwards.
Weird thing, the super pursuit mode transformation in the TV series was completely unnecessary, as the trans-am had been wind tunnel tested up to 350 mph and was completely stable, so all those fins and air rams etc would only make the aerodynamics unstable.
@@GodPikachu Yeh, but they needed something that added a fresh element to the show. The addition of that to this would have been a nice little touch I feel. They could have even made part of it as asthetic for bot mode.

@@Feenix102 Glad you enjoyed the review. Your friend in the US is a very lucky individual.

@@GodPikachu Entirely possible yes.
