3:36 This sums up why 'So Bad it's good' works when the film makers are unaware and going for it deliberately usually falls flat [like a lot of the Asylum mock busters].
Yeah, James seems like he has typecasted himself as The Birdemic Guy. I agree with that Hollywood Agent, instead making Birdemic 3, should have made something else. Like for example, let's take another director who started his career with a big hit that turned into a franchise, Sam Raimi. He made Evil Dead, was a big success, but he didn't go into Evil Dead 2 right away, no, he tried making another movie, Crimewave, which ended up flopping, but returned back for Evil Dead 2 afterwards, and didn't touch that franchise again until he became even bigger after Darkman. Now a days, you don't think of Sam Raimi as The Evil Dead Guy, because he never allowed himself to be typecast as such by doing other things between movies. Now granted, Idk if James would have ever reached the same level as a Sam Raimi, but certainly not doing his career any favors.
Nguyen would be better off making sequels to or variants of the movies he made before Birdemic. Those would be harder to stuff with climate-change messages than Birdemic sequels are, of course. Better to make something new, with or without preachiness.

Edit: AND I LIVE NEAR SANTA CRUZ, NOOOOOO
Finally a new episode!
Today i learned that the surname "Nguyen" is pronounced "win". That’s both interesting and in the case of the Birdemic franchise, ironic.
Weird that, out of all the languages, the movie actually has a German Wikipedia page. The film is certainly known here, but I don't think to the extend like it is in many other countries.
