I love this series but the cops are getting unrealistic. There're so many of them in such a confined area, and they speak to the civilians like they are other cops.
I think your criticisms are a little harsh. They aren't real police, so they just aren't going to be 100% perfect, and that shouldn't be expected. They are realistic for a GTA universe. Also, they intentionally stick to a designated area. Imagine if they were spread out, Polecat and Buggs would never get pulled over. Look at this video for instance, even with the cops in one area, they still did a lot without getting caught. They were flooring it up and down the streets. They agree on a specific area before they start recording.
My drivers Ed teacher is a retired State trooper, and he was gonna tell someone who was doing donuts in an empty parking lot to stop and they took off cuz he was wanted and had a pound of weed. He wasnt even gonna check he was just gonna tell them to smarten up because it had freshly snowed. Lesson to learn, take the ticket vs the felony.

My dad actually ran a red light and he got pulled over and the officer was like excuse me sir you ran a red light back there and my dad said oh really sorry the baby was crying and I was focused on the baby and did not see the light and the officer was like ok I will give you a verbal warning and you can go. He was really nice and my dad told me later that he forgot his driving license at home and he said thank god he did not ask for the driving license. He was lucky
Lucky no one was crossing, would've been a little different otherwise. Focus on driving or pull over. There's no need to put you, the baby and other people in danger.
