Im from thr Philippines i am so amazing this high technique how to harvest peanuts ,i remember when i was young my father had a peanut farm and i use to help to uprooted it and take the peanuts one by one very manual work and dry it ...,,,i absolutely love this,.
Every school should show videos like this, as part of general knowledge teaching. A lot of kids have absolutely no idea where their food comes from, other than out of a packet.
I appreciate that English may not be your first language, but at some stage you were taught to speak it. You were not born with a genetic knowledge of any language; the ability to vocalise is present in nearly all mammals. You learned to speak by being corrected when you got words wrong; you were taught to say them correctly. My original point was that having a broad general knowledge of the world makes for a better, well-rounded person with a more mature outlook on life.
When you have children, they may one day ask you where peanuts come from. You will tell them to look on UA-cam. They will learn nothing from you, only how to look on you-tube. They will remember you with sadness as the father who taught them nothing. They will be insecure because their friends will know a lot. Prospective employers will pass them by as insular and uneducated. If they ever have children, the children will ask them questions that they cannot answer. So sad...
I suspect that you gained your outlook on life and your attitude to general knowledge from your parents. I appreciate that you do not need to be able to trace the history of the lavatory back to a hole in the ground in order to take a dump. However, of the brighter children amongst the population of the US that eat peanut butter, it may be of interest to them where the 5.7 billion pounds per year of peanuts come from. Also, where does wheat come from? Corn? Rice? etc, etc. The enquiring mind of a child should be encouraged, nurtured and cultivated, to produce the great citizens of tomorrow. People who will leave school to go and work in agriculture to feed the worlds millions, engineers, designers, architects and possibly even computer scientists. To deny the children of today knowledge, is to deny the population of tomorrow health, wealth and happiness. Look at the cultural revolution in China: Intelligence was punished, knowledge was denied, clever people were stripped of their jobs and forced to work in the fields. Luckily for China, the Maoist era ended, and the country previously starved of knowledge has managed to move up to the speed of the rest of the world.
Incredible how we take it for granted, just go to the store and get a bag of peanuts, who really knows what goes into the harvesting process, I won't look at a peanut the same way anymore, I have a new appreciation for them . Thanks for sharing this video with us all.
You should see the process for harvesting cashews. They're seeds on the end of a delicious, juicy fruit, which aren't exported because they're so delicate. They're also somewhat caustic, being related to poison ivy, and containing the same irritant. I've drank the juice of the cashew apple. It burns your throat a bit. This chemical is also in the shell around the cashew seed. The workers have to remove them by hand. The chemical burns blacken their fingers and cause them to live in constant pain. Because of the labor intensity and suffering involved, cashews have traditionally been quite expensive, but some companies have paid off police officers in Vietnam to arrest people on false charges, which allows them to use them as slaves in a "rehabilitation program," alongside child laborers.
I have been watching quite a few Noal Farm videos. They are very well made, however, instead of that stupid sounding music, I would rather listen to comments. Yes, a farmer might not need comments, but not all your viewers are farmers. Thank you!
No it's not roasted honey your tasting, it's that added flavor of RATS that fell in to the Ben. At the end of video were peanuts are going in to Ben 5 or 6. Or 8
Most people don't know peanuts develop underground. Many that do know don't know how they get there. The peanut flower gets fertilized, the flower dies then the stem that the flower was on does what it called "pegging", it bend towards the ground until the fertilized seed head is buried. Tada peanuts.
I remember my Father Leonardo del Rosario way back in 1970's planted many peanuts in our farm in Bacungan Palawan the place leading to St.Paul Subterranean River or Underground River...
The next time you bite into a payday candy bar or put peanut butter on your bread be thankful of the farmers that fight the weather or market prices to bring their crops to all of us.
Thanks, just loved this video, great machines. Are peanuts left in field 2 dry before picking them up??and can they be planted in same soil each year or they must be rotated. Mom used to plant a few each year for us kids.
Rotation is just the best way to work with a year without culture or with culture that are intended to recharge the soil nutriment, if yu keep growing same crop on same spot , the soil gonna begun really poor in nutriment unless yu add them yourself ( compost etc)
Then the process continues after harvesting by loading the peanuts into hopper wagons where hot air can be blown in and samples are taken periodically until the moisture content is acceptable for sell.

99 % of people watching had no idea peanuts grew in the ground, they also have no idea peanuts are not nuts either but rather legumes. Seed pod type crops, like peas, soybeans and lentils. Nuts grow on trees.

All education is 'force education'. A child that is not educated cannot speak it's native tongue, hence cannot learn where it's food comes from.

It's amazing to rectify the demand of workers. I thing the type of machine is most efficient and good to field because that saves the dry plants.

The birds and squirrels etc. must have a FIELD day. These type of videos should be part of the school lessons.
Much easier than walking behind a turning plow with a sack. Like we did when I was a kid. : )
But then again we didn't have hundreds of acres to harvest.
