I have cycled through driver after driver and picked up the G400 stretch in hopes to get more consistency off the tee but with minimal loss of distance and this G400 has done exactly that. I hit it arrow straight and as far as any of my drivers did off the tee!

Good review. The fairway actually sounds better outdoors. I think that boxy garage you're hitting from is echo'ing the higher frequencies. Outdoors it's a bit more tame, acoustically.

Last year's Stretch G is so easy to hit off the fairway. If you need a 3 wood to move the ball forward on a par 5 to have a shorter 3rd shot, then look into this club. I can't reach the green in 2 on a par 5, so the lower spin doesn't come into play. It's amazing off the tee for tight fairways. (I'm an 11 handicap)

You should adjust the loft on the stretch 3 wood. Go down to 12 degrees and up to 14 degrees so we can the different flights and distance. I'm always in the market for a strong 3 wood of mini driver. Great review.

Rick, do you plan on posting a video on the GC 2 vs GC quad? Though most of us can't afford to own one personally, it might be good to see the differences in equipment that you are using to test the clubs.

with the Stretch looking more of a tee club it would have been good to see a shot off a tee with it. Just to see if you get different numbers. I know i tend to shallow my 3 wood attack angle a bit more when it's teed up so with the stretch would likely reduce the spin more.

I gotta tell ya Rick. I have the Ping G 400 Woods in the S.F.T. models. I have the # 3,5, and 7 and added the 9. They are insanely powerful and accurate. I love them. I love the shallowness of them . So easy to hit off the ground. I went to get get fitted . Tried the Callaway Rogue woods with only mediocre results. Then the Ping and everything came alive. Strangely enough I later decided that I wanted an 11 wood. Ping didn't sell one so ,,,,,, I decided to try the Callaway Rogue 11 Wood. Low and behold no trouble hitting with that one. So thats my current collection of Woods. :) Peace my friend. Spider Dubiel

Rick I noticed on your review of older clubs, speaking of Ping. The Rapture V2 is never mentioned. I was told they lead into what Ping is doing now. If you could find them would you please give a review.

Great review as usual. I fully agree with you Rick as it feels and plays as a "Mini Driver". I bought it a few weeks back and I got installed a 44" shaft and got the head hotmelt to a D3 Swing Weight. It became a great "Wood 2" for tight Par 4. Last but not least, it plays relatively easy from the fairways contrary to TM Mini driver and Callway 1.5 Mini driver.

Still have not seen your SFT review on these. I recently bought the 3, 5, 7 and 9 Woods in these after getting fitted to them. They are amazing!!!!!! I have played several rounds with these now and love em. Between these and my Callaway Hybrids I have it all covered. I am not a fan of the stretch though. More difficult to hit and not as forgiving in my opinion. You hit it extremely well though Rick. :) Cheers Rick! Spider Dubiel

Hi Rick, really appreciate your video tips. May I ask a question re the Ping G400 and G400 Stretch fairway woods you have demonstrated. I have searched high and low on the internet for a G400 Senior 7 wood. They are scarcer than hens teeth 😳 Do you know where, if anywhere, I might get one ?
Several golf equipment websites don’t even show these 7 woods, only 3 or 5 and even 9. When asked about the G400 7 wood I have had various replies, EG Ping aren’t producing the G400 range as they are selling better than the later G series ?
Others have said that Ping Europe are taking weeks ( usually two ) to produce as they need the components to come over from the USA.

I don't know why companies do not put in the head sponge or styafoam. It would deaden the sound and will only increase weight by 1/16 of a gram. I'm with you Rick.., tired of the big explosion off the face. But.., loving the Ping driver & 3w stretch. Time to ck it out.

When rick reviewed the Ping g fairway wood the average carry was 249. The average carry on the G400 was 239 (probably about 243 without the first shot). Its the same loft. How have they managed to lose distance in between generations.

Don't lose "Old Bluey" just yet. Kudos to Ping for junking that absolute GARBAGE blue standard shaft in favor of the Tour Spec Shaft. Clean lines and I like the way they positioned the weights at the bottom. Nice improvements, but was looking for a complete redo from Driver on down.

Sound is kinda feel though, if it sounds like a wet fart in a bucket it's not going to seem like you hit it well. They'll all perform well, but all sound different so it's something to consider.

There is way too much emphasis on how clubs sound. Anyone caught up in that isn't being honest about their goals. What matters is what happens with the ball, from tee to landing location. rich hits a few shots here that he clearly loves to death, then discounts the club because of its sound. I'm not sure I can dig this.
