That scene is more important than we imagined at the time in molding Night's adult personality. I had a high school English teacher who had his favorites who worshipped him and did everything exactly his way. If you didn't, he dismissed you as a hopeless waste of time as a human being. Since he seemed so smart and so certain he was right, I believed him. I started to not even bother trying to write anything intelligent, just turn something in each time it was due, knowing he would just criticize it generally as trash, no matter what I did. Fortunately, the next year I went to college and discovered, lo and behold, my English teacher, my Music History teacher, my Politics teacher liked the way I wrote, praised me for original ideas, gave me constructive comments about how to improve. To my knowledge, they didn't dismiss the efforts of any of my classmates either. OMG, and now I saw the scenes with Night's father! Denigrating him further? My father was always so confident that, whatever I chose to do and loved doing, I would do well enough that I would succeed. What an awful way to treat a son, including the "I wish you were half the man your brother is." Heaping one parenting mistake on top of the other. This explains why Night is like a zombie drifting through the first sixty minutes of this story with absolutely no definite expression on his face except when he's with Dream. It's like he otherwise just represses all emotions and goes along, never quite agreeing with anything, never pushing back. I'm not even sure he knows how to agree or disagree any more. Namwan should have seen this trait in him (she's had five years to notice) and tried to find out what was going on long ago. She made unjustified assumptions that fit the scenario she hoped would develop. And Namwan has insistently missed all the signals Night has been unknowingly sending. Go back to the scene in the café where the five of them agree to go to the beach. Namwan urges Night to come along, but he doesn't agree until he sees Dream nod his head. If I saw that, how did Namwan's character miss it? He has just left her to go in the back to help Dream...without inviting Namwan to join them. She didn't miss that. She noticed she was sitting there all alone. What did she think that meant? That Night was spending a half hour asking Dream to be his best man at the Night/Namwan wedding?
How hard is it to tell someone "we can only be friends" and Night still didn't make it clear with Namwan. I believe she knows in the back of her head that Dream knows Night look him. And she's gonna confront Dream about it. Namwan is the fool for waiting for a one-sided 💕, 😂. Seems like Dream had been playing with Night romantically throughout high School. This is excitingly entertaining. Thank you for subtitles it makes a difference in enjoying this series.👏👏!

Something called the 'self fulfilling prophesy' at work here, Night is being put down by school and parents the two main influencers of his young life. He's bombarded with words like useless, stupid, aboy like you until he belives it himself. He's struggling, has no self esteem, no confidenence, unable to make decisions. Where are the positives in his life? Dream is his only support and hecwas lost when his friend left, probably because he loved Night, but did not feel requited. Namwan was wrong to hang in and hope for so long, she should have taken the initiative long ago, she knew Night could not make decisions, but I feel for her. Night now knows he loves Dream and I'm only halfway through this episode. Hope it has a happy ending for 2 out of the 3
