    Great example of using Freeform Gradients to add beautiful details that are much harder to create with other methods. Awesome! (Now craving a peach…)

    This video was very informative. I really like the flexibility of the line tool you used. I am for sure one of those people who are not very creative and artistically inclined, so this is a great example of how to be a bit more creative with graphics.

      Thanks Heather! I feel like sometimes the right tools can inspire creativity all on their own, so it's fun to showcase things like this and see how people take it and run with it 😊

      Thank you so much for the feedback Paul! The new tutorial I just posted is a deep dive on my shading process for a different illustration and uses more layered shapes / gradients / blend modes. I hope it's helpful! 😊

    How this is very complicated. But I love the look.. where would you suggest to take more step by step classes because I need it to go slower

      @@VectorArtAcademy I have always painted realistic fine art… a few years ago I decided to learn Illustrator and it was over whelming but I have learned a lot.. the course I took was on surface pattern design. My problem is, I want a little more dimension and not so cartoonish. I don’t love the outlines around the motif and the motif needs shading and texture. There is sooo much to learn. I am sure you know how to do this, so any tutorials would be great!

    Great tutorial, i love how you explained everything. I'm just having a problem with applying the freeform gradient, it doesn't let me apply it on my shaped for some reason. Maybe you have a solution for that.

    • @VectorArtAcademy
      @VectorArtAcademy  Рік тому +1

      Hi Mecoh! What kind of shape is it that you are trying to apply the gradient to? I would select it and check your layers panel to make sure it's a single shape/path and that it didn't get grouped with anything by accident. Also make sure you are trying to apply the gradient to the objects fill and not the stroke, sometimes if the stroke was the last thing you changed it will be active and the you wouldn't be able to apply a freeform gradient.

    hai, how to keep it as a vector when save the file into eps? i did this method but when i save it as eps the object change as an image (bitmap).

      Really sorry for getting back to you so late, I've been on a break and missed a couple of questions!
      So the freeform gradients will not export as vector in EPS or SVG formats because its a proprietary Adobe things that isn't really part of those file standards.
      To get this kind of effect and remain fully vector you could look into a combination of radial gradients and gradient mesh instead but its a bit more complex to work with. Usually I'll just scale the image up in Illustrator and export at the largest size necessary as a jpg, png or webp format. It depends on what your end product is though.
