Good morning Tom. Another great video. It’s always fun to hear about other canoeing waterways. We used to do a LOT of canoeing just for fun and I do miss it. These days we have four canoe’s hidden in the woods at some of our favourite places so we just have to hike in, jump into one and fish whenever we want. 😂 Sorry we missed your live on Friday night. Our grandsons were here for the weekend so after some evening fishing with them, we were outside enjoying the fire pit and having hot dogs and s’mores. Our 10 y/o grandson loves to fish and was able to catch 10 over the weekend. He kept saying “ I am SO proud of myself!”😊 of course we might have said those words once or twice to him too 🥴 but it’s nice for them to have a good sense of self satisfaction when learning a great and useful skill and this is a good age for them to learn it. Anyway, I know we would enjoy seeing your pics from past canoe trips so give it a try, I am sure others would too. Have a great week.☕️
Hello Teresa, Thank you very much! Oh, that sounds like much fun you had! :) That's That's a great age to get them hooked. That's so funny he's proud of himself! :) I have the same feelings, and I'm 61 lo. I caught a 30-inch lake trout yesterday. I'm still proud of myself today. 🤣🤣 I hope you're having a great day! I'm having a coffee break getting ready to start canning my lake trout. Tom
Good morning Aaron, Thank you very much! I'm having a great time! Today I'll spend the day canning fish. I have 18 lbs of fresh fish to can up. But right, it's morning coffee ☕️ I hope you're having a great evening! Tom
Some of my favorite memories as a kid were multi-day canoe trips with the boy scouts. we would paddle up the Delaware canal for two days and float down the Delaware river for one day. Two nights camping. all calm water, no rapids to speak of. The only parts I hated were the portages around the canal locks. UGH.
Good morning Tom. Having a coffee with you watching the video. I can only imagine how beautiful it must a been making those canoe trips. Around every bend in the river is another beautiful scene. You are making me jealous. Lol have a good day Tom. 😊
Good morning David, Thank you very much! Words or a camera couldn't capture the beauty of the St John River. Its one of the highlights in my life as a Maine woodsmen :) I hope you're having a great morning! Tom
Morning Tom!! Enjoying my tea with you this morning. Sounds like fun canoeing in the state of maine. I am hoping I have good luck muzzleloading this year. Have a great week Tom
Good morning Stacy :) Thank you very much! :) Our hunting has ended for this year. My buck lives to see another winter. :) it is raining like cats and dogs here at The Rustic Log Cabin. I have been working my tail off the last 5 days getting a roof on the Bunkhouse for the boys buttoning up all the yard chores before the deep snow. I finished my outside chores yesterday yet 5:00 dark is the Ace of Spades. But I am ready for winter here at The Rustic Log Cabin. I hope to show you a beaver soon Stacy. My plans are to put out some beaver traps and some bait traps after Christmas. I'm thinking the ice will be safe by then. Running some live bait traps alongside of the beaver traps in the same stream might give me two catches. the live bait will be for ice fishing this winter if I have any luck at all. I hope you're enjoying the heck out of your muzzleloading season. Tom
Morning Tom and everyone. Mike is having coffee and I'm having tea with you this morning. Sounds like a beautiful place to check out. You have a great day.
Good morning Tom I had my coffee at 5 this morning. One thing that I will say is if you are going to do these trips don't wait to do them till you retire. You mite have to many things wrong with you to do them.
Good morning Harry, You're absolutely right!! Don't wait to do any of this stuff in your retirement years. I had an old retired carpenter tell me that when I was 20 years old. From that day on, I fished and hunted as hard as I could go. I have to say I still didn't get enough done. :) in the great outdoors. Tom

Good morning Tom , This is Eric. Watching your videos while working around Boston area. I’m from Maine as well. I’m from Mattawamkeag, many years ago. I enjoy all your videos. So much like spending time with my grandfather years ago. With the time frame of the stories you have talked about makes me wonder your age ? Like when you was a young feller in the 90’s , because I was also. I’m 58 in June of 2024. Well I got to get at it now. Been another great video. I’d love to see them pictures of the St. John River trip

We're close in in age. I'm 61, still fishing and hunting. I will do that put some of my pictures together for video. I've been putting some thought into how I could do that. I am glad my videos bring you down memory lane. My hope is that my videos will do the same thing for my grandsons. Tom

I just came off a St John trip ( Baker lake to Dickey bridge ) on Thursday and had a blast. Definitely a more “ remote “ feeling than the Allagash.

Thanks for the video man👍🎣
