- In the 10th chapter of Luke in the New Testament, the Savior received two questions from a lawyer with unfriendly intentions. The first question was, “What shall I do to inherit eternal life?” The Savior reminded him of what was written in the scriptures: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” The lawyer followed up with a second question: “Who is my neighbour?” (verses 25-29). Instead of answering the question directly, the Savior guided the lawyer to answer his own question with the parable of the good Samaritan.
The Savior teaches that everyone is our neighbor. His teachings and personal example of kindness and mercy to others are just as applicable today as they were during His lifetime. Opportunities, large and small, to be modern-day good Samaritans surround us every day. Are we willing to be inconvenienced to help someone in need? Do we hesitate? President Thomas S. Monson once said, “Unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives” (“What Have I Done for Someone Today?” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2009, 85).
When we willingly extend ourselves beyond what is easy to do, the reward is a joyful unity with our Heavenly Father; our Savior, Jesus Christ; and one another.

It meant it back then too. The Samaritans were looked down upon because they were not Jews. The GS went beyond cultural and religious barriers to help. This is only my speculation, but I think that is why Jesus chose to tell the story in this way.
What a beautiful thing to wake up to; a story of Christlike love.
I love that bit included in the end where she walks into work so humbly and doesn't even tell anyone about what she did.
Matthew 6:3-4 - "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret." Truly, it is the teachings of Jesus that touched your heart.
When she kneels down and takes his hand he starts to weep that really gets me
This is beautiful! People always think they would help that man. That they will always try to do what’s right. But when the time comes. Most of us are scared or in a hurry or judge others that we forget what our savior has taught us to do
Sacrifice and service is almost never convenient, but that's why it's called sacrifice and service. If it was easy it wouldn't be those things and it wouldn't cause us to become more like God.
This was awesome, even modernized. I cried too. Very close to the Good Samaritan my favorite parable. Be kind to everyone, ALL the time.
Wow just amazes me how some people will just walk on by afraid of what others think and afraid. But seeing this woman who knows what it's like. Hand of Jesus reaching out. We need more people like this doesn't matter what walk of faith you are.

Although I am not Mormon these videos are inspiring and interesting to watch. Props to the people who made the short films they are well made and the acting is very good. Even though our views may differ a little I am glad that we all portray and show the kindness and love that God has for us and wants us to show to others.

All three people were going about their day doing good, but then the two stuck with good (which wasn't good at all), and didn't do the better or best thing. But the young lady did. What a great example to me.

When I watched the video first time, I could not help but look at it with a political eys - and I am sure many will look at it only as such in today's world. At first, I thought why to interpret the greatest parable of Christ into a political scene. But that made me think even deeper, wasn't that what Christ did at the time when he told this parable? At His time it probably was easy to look at it as a highly political scene. But we need to learn to look beyond politic in hour dealings with our fellow man and just show pure Christ love. Wasn't that meant to be the main message of this story? First and foremost we need to learn that we are expected to love everyone and we can only cultivate Christ kind of love by looking beyond everything which divides us as a children of our heavenly father.
I felt the same and I actually feel somewhat immature for scrolling through the comments to look for political/social debate and it wasn't until I read yours that I realized that politics, background, and social status are all irrelevant to the message in this video.
